Cleanliness
7.4
Generally praised as clean (rooms, bathrooms described as bright and very clean) but marred by a serious bathroom sewerage smell reported by a guest and some disruption from renovation works impacting perceived cleanliness/comfort.
Service
9.2
Staff repeatedly praised as welcoming, friendly and going the extra mile (warm reception, owner engaging with guests, attentive front-of-house and bar service at peak times). Isolated issues noted: an unfriendly receptionist on one morning and occasional inattentive dinner/bar service.
Location
9
Consistently described as well located — close to motorways, city centre, University of Limerick and convenient for pool access from suites.
Room Quality
8.9
Rooms described as spacious, nicely decorated, with comfortable beds, good storage, air conditioning and pleasant baths. Minor issues: a less-comfortable sofa bed and some suites had twin singles pushed together rather than a proper double/king.
Amenities
8.5
Good on-site amenities noted (mini-fridge, AC, pleasant bath, lobby tea/coffee and pastries area, bar with live music). Renovations were occurring but core amenities remained available and well presented.
Value for Money
8.1
Seen as good value by several guests (explicit mention of attractive pricing and high-spec furnishings), though a few described food/breakfast inconsistency which can affect perceived value on longer stays.
Food and Beverage
7
Food and drink receive mixed feedback: some guests praised well-presented, generous meals, excellent pastries and enjoyable breakfasts; others reported inattentive dining staff, inconsistent breakfast quality and occasional poor bar service.
Overall Experience
8.3
Overall a positive guest experience with many glowing endorsements (‘favourite hotel’, memorable stay, welcoming staff) balanced by isolated but significant negatives (sewerage smell, renovation noise, occasional service lapses).

Bon séjour !
Pros:

Bel établissement qui se veut haut standing ! Chambre sobre et propre, lits très confortables !

Cons:

Le personnel de salle au diner peu attentif et plutôt amateur ! Beaucoup de bruits de travaux dès 7h30 du matin !

Would not recommend.
Cons:

There was a smell from the bathroom of sewerage. I reported it three times. The third time a duty manager came to check it out. He said he would arrange for us to move rooms, but there was no room for us to move to. When checking out I spoke to the GM who denied there had been any smell.

Hospitality Excellence
Pros:

The Castletroy has become our favourite hotel when staying in Limerick. It is easily reached from motorways, and close to the city centre.

From the moment we entered the hotel until checking out, we had a truly memorable stay. Reception staff were welcoming as always, and even though we arrived before the official check in time, our room was ready!

The rooms in Castletroy are nicely decorated with plenty of storage space. There is a mini fridge with mineral water, air conditioning and very comfortable beds. The bathroom has a very pleasant bath: great for a relaxing soak after a long day!

We met friends and had tea & coffee with delicious pastries & cakes. This was served in a lovely area beside the lobby and the presentation, quality of food and service were all truly excellent.

Later we had a very enjoyable meal in the bar: food was beautifully presented, generous portions and very enjoyable. Breakfast next morning was equally enjoyable.

There is a wonderful team of staff in the Castletroy Park Hotel who go the extra mile to ensure a perfect guest experience. Every interaction is a pleasure, and there is always a smile and a chat. The hotel owner, Pat McDonagh happened to be on site that day, and he too is a very pleasant gentleman and perfectly at ease speaking to guests.

We look forward to our next visit to Castletroy.

Pros:

Great place for some cocktails and live music! My partner and I come here all the time, mainly for the music, we went Friday night for some food and drinks and the vibe was great! Lovely service too even with it being busy!
