A lively family get-together and a great spot to explore the other Cotswold towns and villages from.
Pros:

Friendly staff and great location

Cons:

The hotel bedrooms are showing their age a bit, with mid-matching door knobs and tired fixtures and fittings in the bathroom.
Make sure you book the pool/spa in advance as it only accommodates 10 people.

Overall was not good- too expensive for what we got and deserves a refund
Pros:

Excellent dinner and b'fast

Cons:

We were put in "the rafters" - it was meant to be a "feature" room but was awful where they crammed bath into the bedroom , washbasin was miles away from mirror , loo although separate was in cupboard. My wife would have needed a step ladder to hang anything in the cupboard and the light switches were unecessarily complicated. Description of feature needs to be more accurate .

Excellent base for a walking weekend in the Cotswolds
Pros:

Comfortable high-end hotel in stunning location. Lovely staff. Excellent walking routes all around.

Cons:

Most complicated arrangement I have ever seen in a hotel room for operating the lighting. We never got to the bottom of it. It was just pot luck which lights came on.
Hard foam pillows that didn't match the luxury of everything else.

Pros:

We enjoyed the breakfast the bar, bed was very comfortable, bathroom clean.

Cons:

Spa was very dissapointing, couldnt use the pool it was too cold and not much steam in the steam room. We enjoyed the hot tub but had to get to it via the front door and no shelter to put your towels, one morning we couldnt use the hot tub as it had over heated. Room was clean but loojing a little tired in places and the shower had little power.

Very enjoyable despite the weather. Great hotel and staff.
Pros:

Location, room type
,staff excellent, breakfast

Cons:

Just needed some tweaks - put a bin in the closet where the tea/coffee facilities were. Have some air fresheners in the room as it smelt a little musty. Could do with an outside hose/tap during the winter to wash off dogs/shows of mud. Spa closed very early

Excellent, quirky proper English country hotel
Pros:

A lovely hotel in the centre of a beautiful town. Staff were very helpful and friendly, the food was excellent and the rooms spacious, comfortable and well appointed. The spa did what it said on the tin and it was an all-round good experience. Not that the weather helped, but the gardens are lovely.

Cons:

Various elements of the hotel looked a little jaded - though this did add to the quirkiness of the hotel and was more than made up for by the service.

Great location
Pros:

The hotel is in a beautiful building and the location is excellent. Lovely reception staff.
Breakfast was great, and the breakfast staff were outstanding. We stayed on the second floor with no lift, but that didn’t bother us. The room had a kettle, a great selection of teas, biscuits, and even a teapot, which was a lovely surprise. The secure onsite parking.

Cons:

The small double bedroom was cosy but extremely compact, with the smallest bathroom we’ve ever had and we are a short and slim built. The shower base was triangular and about half the size of a small standard home shower, so only a small child would feel comfortable using it. In hindsight, we wish we had booked the next room category up, even for a small additional cost, even for just one night.
We were also unable to use the pool or spa as they were very busy on Friday afternoon around 4 pm. Additionally, these facilities are located in a separate building across the garden, which isn’t very practical, especially during winter.

Lovely hotel with attentive staff and excellent food.
Pros:

Breakfast was very good, good choice of hot and cold items, service was excellent.
Great central location in a pretty town

Cons:

We were allocated a small room on the top floor and it was sweltering. It’s not very often that I sleep with a window wide open in December!
It was a bit of a struggle to get to because I walk with a stick but the room was well appointed and had everything we needed for our stay.
