Nice option in quiet/safe neighborhood outside just outside of the city
Pros:

Location near UCD (the purpose of our trip) in a quiet, safe neighborhood. Food in the restaurant is better than most hotel options. Public areas of the hotel are quite nice. The small room and bathroom were adequate enough for two of us and we appreciated the portable AC unit in the room. Two bottles of water, a biscuit and tea in the room to use. WiFi was included and fast. Area directions provided.

Cons:

We struggled with a few basic things at this location. Starters are the large area in front of the building is marked off from cars, so drop-offs are in the street (why? Open this up for front door service please) and although there was a doorman/footman he watched us struggle with our bags from the street, across the closed off area and up steep steps to get inside (no suggestions for a side ramp). He didn’t even open the front door for us! To top matters off, the lift was broke down the entire stay and no offer with our bags to or from our room upstairs. All of this seemed quite rude to us. Checkin was fine. The staff is pleasant but a bit difficult to understand at times since most are from abroad. We had a few communication misunderstandings resulting in some odd happenings, but we got through it. Pillows are VERY flat.

Sandymount Hotel Dublin
Pros:

Excellent hotel. Well located. Friendly, pleasant and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast. Room was spacious and clean as was the bathroom (very minor point: toilet roll holder?!!). Will stay in Sandymount Hotel again.

Wonderful hotel

Best Dublin hotel, we only stayed one night and really wished we had of booked 2 , the staff are wonderful , and I really like that it is a family business and I got that kinda of feeling from the hotel , i
It was my husbands 60 th birthday and the very kindly upgraded us to the most beautiful suite , pure luxury and the bed was super comfortable .
I had left behind my straighteners and they very kindly offer to post them back to me .
Can’t wait to go back , highly recommend The sandymount . I have stayed in many 5 star hotels but this one was hard to beat

Excellent stay!!! Highly recommend!! Great food! Great location! Fair price!
Pros:

The Sandymount Hotel was wonderful! We stayed here for the first 2 nights of our vacation in Ireland. The location is in a quiet and convenient area in Dublin. We were able to walk to the train that brought us more into the city or order a taxi. The hotel serves a delicious breakfast buffet and offers dinner as well in their private restaurant.

The staff were all so great! They were kind, friendly, and professional. There was a kind young lady with glasses from the desk that was very helpful. She gave us the information we needed to explore the area and make better use of our time.

We loved the Sandymount Hotel and would highly recommend staying there.
