Would’ve been nice at check to be to.d there are no planned fire alarms scheduled as alarm went off at 4am and when trying to phone reception to see if this meant vacating I discovered that they had all gone outside and then also as we went to move outside everyone re entered as false alarm not impressed either with just an apology letter shoved under the door.

Pros:

Good property. Most of the staff is very accommodating. There are no washers and dryers on the property and the dry cleaning service is very expensive. The gym is small but functional. There are no windows around the indoor pool so the smell of chlorine is intense. The waiters at dinner took a while to bring our food, so the food wasn’t very warm when we got it. Otherwise the food itself was delicious but kind of cold.

Hotel was ok. But be very careful that after you pay your bill and checkout that they have cancelled any hold on your credit card. Otherwise you will spend a lot of time trying to find out why the balance is mysteriously too high on your credit. Trying to resolve with hotel was painful. Ruin memories of the hotel

Pros:

Staff were nice and friendly. The property was old. We were given a room that was not accessible by elevator and we had to carry suitcases up the stairs. The room was dated (particularly the bathroom). The beds were not comfortable. I would not rate it as a four star property based on North American standards.
The view from the room was great.

Lovely hotel near to Oxford centre
Pros:

This was a very nice hotel. The rooms were a good size and the bed was very comfortable. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was very good. The centre of Oxford was only a very nice 15-20 minutes walk by the riverside.
