Very comfortable rooms many with view of gardens & grounds. Friendly staff. Very good restaurant. Can walk to pub next to Sanford Lock and walk down Thames path. frequent, clean, new electric bus from end of drive into Oxford. Good bathrooms, charging points & TV in rooms. Quick room service, Excellent air conditioning (was VERY hot that weekend!)
IHG central booking told name they don't always recognise Booking.com at the hotel ,.. but they do and our stay was at least 1/3rd cheaper by using Booking.com.
We chose Voco Oxford Thames as the venue for our wedding. We could not be happier with the service we received, the facilities and the way we were treated while we were there.
The staff at this venue cannot do enough for you. Shelley is an incredible co-ordinator who can't do enough for you. Kind and generous and kept us calm throughout the whole process. The general restaurant and hotel staff were wonderful and attentive making sure your every need was met. We especially appreciated that all of our guests were made to feel comfortable by the staff even remembering things like dietary requirements at breakfast without having to be told again.
We appreciated the personal touches that we got along the way from the staff. For example checking in on us as the day went on to make sure that everything was running smoothly and that we were enjoying our day.
The facilities blew us away. The rooms were spacious and clean but also welcoming and well maintained. The conservatory made for a magical space for the evening festivities and was the perfect size for our reception.
Then, of course, there was the gazebo where we held our ceremony. The Gazebo is beautifully maintained and the flowerbeds and hedges around invite you in to what is a beautiful place to get married. We loved that it backs right onto the riverbank so was perfect for photos. Its a place that will stay in our memories forever.
Thank you everyone at VOCO Oxford Thames. You made our day magical and memorable.
We stayed at VOCO Oxford Thames via a Secret Escapes booking mid June 2026.
First impressions were a beautiful reception area and friendly welcoming staff.
We were lucky to be located in one of the rooms in the old part of the hotel which felt very special.
The room had everything we needed including lovely toiletries, bottled water and a well equipped tea and coffee area.
Our break included a bottle of wine which was very enjoyable on our patio area.
Dinner was included on both evenings of our stay, the staff in Napiers are amazing, so knowledgeable and approachable.
The food was top quality and the cocktails great.
Breakfasts were also great and a really good choice.
Overall this was the most welcome we'd felt in a hotel for a long time.
We used the swimming pool both days, just big enough to relax a little after a long walk.
The hotel is perfectly located for the Thames path and we walked to Oxford and then on to Jericho - which has some lovely coffee shops.
Oxford was busy as it was a weekend but the covered market is a good place for lunch away from the crowds.
We would definitely love to stay here again.
Well done everyone.
Quick one night visit, made a reservation for dinner at Napier which was outstanding, the service from start to finish was very attentive. Quality of food was fantastic and very well presented. Really enjoyed the experience and would highly recommend to anyone who may be planning a visit to this hotel. Special thanks to Kana for the excellent service a great asset the restaurant thank you.
Absolutely amazing experience, from check in with Daniela to dinner service with Eliza.
Need to pay for the car parking.
Beautiful setting and great location to access Oxford city centre. Bus stop just outside the hotel. Lovely walk along the river from the hotel to Oxford city centre if you prefer some exercise
This is an excellent hotel with outstanding facilities and service. However, it is disappointing that guests are charged for parking, especially given the large amount of parking space available on site. Complimentary parking for residents would be more in keeping with the overall quality and value expected from a hotel of this standard.
Visited for Fathers day for dinner with family and i can't express enough how exceptional the staff were in the restaurant.
From arrival they were jolly, attentive, kind and welcoming throughout and always smiling.
We had a wonderful meal but the staff definately made the evening even more wonderful and pleasent.
Special mention to Keira and Michael who were phenomenal!
We will most definately be visiting again!
The location, bedrooms, food and staff
Nothing
Pleasant well looked after surroundings. Comfortable room. Bathroom average. Food was exquisite. We had dinner early in the bar. Menu and food from main kitchen was top quality and taste. Alfred was excellent in serving and attending to us despite being busy in the bar. Location good for access to central Oxford using a car.
Reception staff too junior. For a simple "outside the box" issue they had to call the manager (who was readily available).
The accommodation is delightful, with a wonderful atmosphere and very comfortable facilities. The staff are exceptionally friendly, and the restaurants serve amazing food. I felt especially welcomed throughout my stay and truly appreciated the service of Kana, who was incredibly kind, cheerful, and funny. Her warm personality made the experience even more enjoyable. I would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to others!
Amazing location, great food and impressive Service. Special thanks to our waitress Kana!
房间里有很多蚂蚁,喊工作人员过来态度不太耐烦,说我们打开阳台门出去会有蚂蚁爬进来,其实我们出去立马就关门了,根本就是房间里面本来就有蚂蚁,让人很不舒服
The breakfast was amazing. The room was spacious and the seats and working desk were very nice. The bathroom and towels were soft and clean. The view from the room was amazing.
It was nice to also have the steam and sauna room.
The staff were very pleasant and responsive. The food at Napiers was mouth watering.
The balcony had a lot of spider webs so it would have been nice if it was cleaned up. The pillows were not as firm as I would have liked.
