Brillant services amazing people
I only stayed here for 2 nights but I was given three rooms. The first room I had no hot water and no heating. The second room was huge but still no heating. It was freezing. I went to Reception and complained again and I was given a portable plug in heater. I didn't feel happy about leaving it on all night so I had a very cold night.
The next morning I told reception that it appears that the heating has packed up in quite a lot of rooms. I was given yet another room and guess what? The only heating was a portable plug in heater. I only stayed here for two nights but the whole time was very stressful. This hotel has gone downhill and has a lot of maintenance issues. It would have been better and cheaper to stay at the Premier Inn! I noticed at reception there were plug in heaters. It certainly isn't very professional!!
As a member of the leisure centre. It's rare that one of the jacuzzi, steam room or sauna do not go out of action.
When waiting for things to get fixed, you'd be quicker getting an appointment from your GP.
Members offered no good will discounts for these regular facilities break downs .Have been a member elsewhere where they looked after customers far more, no effort to attract members to hotel either, bar noticeably quiet pricey and no members discount for anything really.
Place has potential but it's Fawlty Towers esque.
Were do I start yhe place was a absolute heaven.
We checked in made so welcome told the time wat we can do.
The room was outstanding food outstanding.
Me and my partner thinking of getting married here .
Really disappointed that after travelling for 2 hours and telling our 2 year old she would be able to go swimming when we got there, we were informed children’s swimming stopped at 6:30 (the time we arrived) this isn’t clear on hotels.com and it’s not mentioned on any subsequent emails. The children’s swimming then doesn’t start until 09:30 which was the time we planned to leave. We then decided to change our trip around so she could have a little swim in the morning before we set off for Cornwall, only to find out the pool was out of service for the foreseeable.
I chose this hotel only for the swimming pool. Could have stayed somewhere MUCH cheaper for the service we received.
2 night stay, for price charged , not good value as food poorly cooked and bland , ditto breakfast. Hotel cold, unheated. Pleasant staff and swimming pool.
We stayed for one night after a day at Longleat.
The check in was smooth and they kindly put us on the ground floor as we have a baby and a lot to carry in. The reception staff were very pleasant and helpful.
The room was very clean and decorated nicely. Plenty of room for the 3 of us!
We had a nice patio where we could see our car easily.
Dinner in the restaurant was great, and they were also very helpful accommodating our baby with food and water for him.
At night, it was rather noisy though with people banging doors all through the night and also what sounded like a rave in the car park. The mattresses and pillows are a bit hard as well but i do have a bad back so these might suit other people.
Overall, we had a lovely time at the hotel.
I booked this place due to reviews and price. But it was full of bugs! I counted 36 moths 27 spiders and a handful of others I didn’t know what they were… that was the hallways… the lift also didn’t work… in my room it had a broken bath. And the cups and teaspoons were still filthy with sugar and tea marks in the cups, that’s the day after they have cleaned the room and supposedly changed them! Also plates and pots, cutlery etc were left outside rooms from Friday evening and still on floor or radiators in hallways on the Sunday!
Lovely big room
The pool and gym were closed very disappointed as paid more for a hotel with a gym and pool.
Lift not working.
Everyone complained, but no aplogies. The hotel said the pool and gym were free to use so wouldn't offer a partial refund.
Looks like it was a nice hotel 20 years ago, and now dated and not looked after.
The property was clean and as tidy as can be, the lift was out of order and wall paper peeling off the walls in the room, with that said, the room was spacious with everything you would need, the square toilet seat had been replaced with a round one (not very comfy and looked awful).
There is definitely a lack of staff, this showed at meal times, service was slow and a slow turn around on plates etc.
The food overall was nice, but a little overpriced, breakfast was fantastic with a great choice (let down by lack of turnaround of crockery, cutlery and food, we even had to set our table ourselves).
Our main Gripe was we booked a Spa hotel, but the Spa was closed on the Saturday so we could not use the facilities, very disappointed.
Nice 20m pool. Lovely room.
Lovely welcoming. And allowed us to check in a bit early as we were soaked from the journey. Room was upgraded too.
Spa was great and very relaxing.
Evening meal and breakfast was excellent.
Lovely place. Will definitely return
I was warmly greeted and all locations and timings were pointed out to me.My room was had a king-size bed, a two seater settee and a good quality writing desk. The room was immaculately clean and the walls were softened by coordinated artwork. There were large opening doors to a Juliet balcony, and this made the room very comfortable indeed.
One of the highlights of my visit was the spa. This was very spacious with a large swimming pool and a very clean and modern hot tub. Both the pool and the tub were maintained at a very comfortable temperature.
Breakfast at the hotel was a relatively simple affair, but because the dining room was very well presented, it felt more upmarket. The staff were quite attentive and friendly.
I requested a late check out by an hour, and this request was received warmly. This fact, however, wasn’t communicated to housekeeping and they did actually disturb me at 11:15.
Several times I had dealings with a young gentleman of colour who was working in the restaurant at breakfast (sadly, I don’t know his name). He chatted to me quite animatedly and mentioned that he was working there for the summer whilst he was not in education. This young man was a great credit to the hotel and, if you have a recognition system for staff, I would very much like to nominate him for an award.
Overall, this was the most enjoyable visit and the hotel certainly delivers within its grade.
Good value for money. Yes the hotel is a little dated and could do with a bit of TLC but for the area and what you get we have no complaints.
Simple clean comfortable no frills stay.
Towels a bit thin
Not enough shower gel for 2
Only rubbish coffee & tea ( glad I brought my own teabags)
But glad to have a kettle!
Provided a fan which we needed
Good hairdryer
Clean & tidy just a little dated. Balcony had nice chairs but floor all rusty & flaking
Perfect for a one night stay
Huge room!
Lift wasn’t working… but we were on 1st floor. Would have complained if a higher floor.
Room was very comfortable and spacious. The swimming pool and spa area were really good, all towels provided, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna all included. Restaurant and bar were good too. Lovely food. A great hotel.
A bit dated and no air con in the 'higher the' room, made the sleep uncomfortable.
This is the first time I have ever used this hotel brand and in all honesty it was a bit of a gamble. As soon as I pulled into the car park and entered the hotel, I realised that I had made a good choice.

It had a king-size bed, a two seater settee and a good quality writing desk. The room was immaculately clean and the walls were softened by coordinated artwork. There were large opening doors to a Juliet balcony, and as the room didn’t have air-conditioning, I was able to leave the balcony doors open to allow air to circulate. This made the room very comfortable indeed, bearing in mind it was August. There was no traffic noise whatsoever.
There was a decent sized bathroom with bathtub and over bath shower. This was extremely enjoyable.
One of the highlights of my visit was the spa. This was very spacious with a large swimming pool and a very clean and modern hot tub. Both the pool and the tub were maintained at a very comfortable temperature.

The hotel was fairly clean with a nice spacious room.
Room phone doesn’t work and there is no room service. Overall staff were friendly.
Gym could do with a good makeover
