April 2026 was our second time in Lisboa but our first time staying at this beautiful hotel. We noticed the hotel during our first visit so it was a no brainer where to stay this time.
The hotel is sophisticated looking without any notion of being snobby. The colors, fabric and material of the curtains and furniture are so rich and appealing. Very clean too. The hotel is maintained very well. We roamed all through the hotel just in awe of what we saw and still felt so at home and comfortable in the space. The staff adds to your stay as well. Everyone we encountered was kind, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I must not forget all the smiles that greet you any time, day or night. If/when we are in Lisboa again, this is where we want to stay. The hotel is centrally located and many places are within walking distance.
Just a note…Most of the Portuguese we met along the way spoke fluent English and we were thankful and grateful they easily understood us. Oh…you must try the pastel de nada. IMO, it’s to die for!

Loved every minute of our stay in the beautiful Avenida Palace Hotel. Perfectly located with wonderful music in the evening in the salon. Terrific breakfast too!

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Avenida. The location is perfect, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the staff are warm and attentive. Breakfast was a real highlight, with lots of variety and fresh options every morning, which made starting the day especially enjoyable.

Fabulous hotel , staff were very polite and efficient. The room was very spacious with a very comfy bed and excellent air con.
The early evening piano recital was so relaxing after a busy day sightseeing.
Danielle at breakfast was an absolute delight, she gave us several recommendations for places in the area to visit, all of which were very worthwhile, she is so bubbly and friendly, and is a credit to your hotel.
The hotels location was perfect for everything, with transport, restaurants and sights all within a short walk.

Over the past four years, we've stayed at Hotel Avenida Palace over a dozen times. (I've lost the exact count.) We've stayed at a few other hotels in Lisbon, but none come close to the level of service and comfort at this hotel. The staff, everyone including bellmen, front desk, concierge, bar staff, breakfast staff, piano players and housekeeping, go above and beyond to make us feel welcome and provide exceptional service. The staff are well-trained, hard-working, and very attentive.
The lobby, bar, and breakfast areas are beautiful, elegant and comfortable. The breakfast is one of the best with fresh buffet items and made to order options are available.
On our most recent visit, we were warmly welcomed by reception and bell staff, relaxed in a comfortable room, received excellent service at breakfast, enjoyed piano music and a light meal at the bar, and received efficient check out service. None of this was unusual for this hotel.
In all our visits, we've never had a bad or disappointing experience. This level of consistency is most impressive.

We had the most amazing stay at this very central hotel. From checkin, help from the concierge, kind doormen, housekeeper, DELICIOUS BREAKFAST and staff there. It was beyond our expectations. Very walkable to tons of restaurants and gelato and Portuguese pastries. They spoiled us!!

If you come off a cruise and want to hang up some of your suits and dresses you have to deal with those irritating hangers which you can't easily remove plus no clips for hanging up pants - truly irritating and unbelievable for an obviously nice hotel.

Everything about this hotel is elegant. The building itself, the breakfast buffet and more, the level of service.

We had a wonderful stay at Avenida Palace and were genuinely impressed by both the hotel itself and the level of service.

What I particularly appreciated is that this is a historic hotel where you can truly feel the atmosphere of another era. However, unlike many historic hotels where “old-world charm” can sometimes mean worn-out furniture, tired fabrics, or rooms that simply feel old, Avenida Palace has managed to preserve its character while providing a very high level of modern comfort.

Our room was spotlessly clean and beautifully maintained. Everything felt fresh and comfortable: soft, clean towels, bathrobes, slippers, and all the amenities you would expect from a high-quality hotel. The housekeeping service was exceptional — the room was serviced both during the day and again in the evening as part of the turndown service, with little chocolates waiting for us at night. These small details really make a difference.

The staff were consistently warm, attentive and professional. It is clear that the management pays great attention to detail and has created a very high standard of service throughout the hotel. We also loved the atmosphere: the hotel is elegant, peaceful and quiet, without the usual hustle and noise you sometimes find in large city hotels. Even at breakfast, the atmosphere was calm and pleasant.

I would especially recommend this hotel to people who appreciate history, classic interiors and old-world elegance. You really feel as though you are staying in another time — but with all the comfort and cleanliness of a modern luxury hotel.
