Categories

Cleanliness
7
Mixed reports: some guests explicitly noted clean rooms, but others mentioned old/thin carpets and external street mess (piles of vomit outside), giving an overall slightly-below-average cleanliness impression.
Service
8.5
Generally positive: multiple guests called staff friendly and helpful, though at least one report criticized staff for poor handling of a security/police request — overall service is a strong point with an isolated serious concern.
Location
9
Strongly positive for transport/access: repeatedly praised for proximity to the train station and central area; some guests disliked the city centre itself, but the hotel's location relative to transport is a clear asset.
Room Quality
6.5
Negative trend: multiple comments about small, cramped rooms, old/run-down appearance, thin carpets, single beds and odd cheap decor; also missing in-room fridge for some — room quality is noticeably below expectation.
Amenities
6.8
Mixed to below average: breakfast variety noted positively, but recurring issues with parking availability/complexity, lack of refrigerator in rooms and limited disabled access reduce the amenities score.
Value for Money
7.2
Mixed perceptions: several guests described it as good value while others felt it was not great value for what was paid; overall middle-ground but slightly positive for price-conscious travelers.
Food and Beverage
8.9
Generally positive for breakfast (good variety), but some operational issues noted (dinner/service times late for families). Breakfast quality lifts this category overall.
Overall Experience
7.7
Decent and trouble-free for many guests with friendly staff and a convenient location, but tempered by room condition, parking difficulties, road noise and at least one serious staff-handling concern — overall a mid-to-upper average stay.

Close to the station , handy for a night out.
Pros:

Decent, couldn't stay for longer than a night though (personal choice). Everything feels a bit tight, narrow corridors, tiny car park.

Cons:

The ironing room. Nice to have an iron in your room.

Not worth the price
Pros:

Nothing really,

Cons:

The location, entering at the rear and reception upstairs, room was very basic and small, lighting wires hanging, a small window which barely opened, the shower had hairs in it, the bathroom reminded me of being on a plane. Breakfast was poor only scrambled eggs available and when I asked if they have fried or boiled was told if I wanted that to go to a 4 or 5 star hotel. For £135 was not impressed. Don't think I'll be staying at a ibis hotel again. Only chose here as it was closest available for the venue I was attending.

Good value for money and in a good location for the city centre
Pros:

Great location, friendly greeting, room was clean and it was good value at £81 for two including breakfast ! Parking was £7 which was reasonable.

Cons:

The only issue for me was the air con was really noisy and kept turning on and off which made for a very sleepless night.
