When booking 10 or more rooms, or for more than 11 people, different policies and additional supplements apply.
We are currently renovating bathrooms at Original Sokos Hotel Vaakuna Helsinki. The renovation will be carried out in phases so that the hotel and restaurant 10. Kerros remain open as usual. We aim to minimize any impact from the renovation and ensure our guests’ comfort. Work will be paused during evenings and weekends to avoid disturbance to hotel guests.

Great location - good included full breakfast- rooms only serviced every 3 days
Pros:

Excellent location- close to all public transport- train bus and tram
Good breakfast included
Female staff on reception were excellent and very helpful

Cons:

Room floor could have been cleaner and didn’t like the room only being serviced every 3 days - not acceptable for a hotel at this price point

Sehr zentral gelegenes und stilvolles Hotel
Pros:

Das Hotel liegt sehr zentral. Direkt vor der Tür liegt am Bahnhof eine Tiefgarage mit Zugang ins Hotel. Sie ist nicht gerade günstig, aber nah und geräumig. Der Charme der 50er Jahre ist bei den Renovierungen des Hotels erhalten geblieben. Das Hotel hat Charakter. Der Frühstücksraum bzw. das Restaurant in der obersten Etage bietet einen schönen Ausblick. Das Frühstück ist sehr vielfältig und sehr gut.

Cons:

Das Bad mit der Duschwanne ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen.

Wonderful
Pros:

A lovely hotel, very clean, welcoming helpful staff. The breakfast was outstanding so much variety and fabulous vegan options. And the location was just perfect, just over the way from the train station.

Cons:

The bed was alittle too soft for me. But it wouldn't stop me from staying here again

A Great Base for Exploring Helsinki - Comfortable and Clean
Pros:

The location could not be more central. Helsinki is already a very walkable city, but having the hotel right next to the central train station makes everything incredibly convenient. Major shopping districts and plenty of great restaurants are just steps away, making it easy to explore the city without relying on public transport. The central location also makes arrival and departure especially smooth, whether you’re coming from the airport or traveling onward by train.
The staff were excellent—polite, helpful, and genuinely funny. Cleanliness is clearly a priority here, and it shows. Even cleaned underneath the beds and left a cute note about it! :) I especially appreciated being asked how often we would like housekeeping during our stay, which felt thoughtful and guest-focused. The breakfast selection was also very good, with plenty of options, and the dining area was well organized even during busier

Cons:

The building is a bit older, and while the large window façade offers a breathtaking skyline view, it felt slightly cold during December nights. This was not a major issue, but something to keep in mind if you’re visiting during winter. Some rooms have a bathtub while others have a shower, which isn’t really a negative, but something to be aware of when booking or worth asking about at check-in. The rooms were comfortable overall, though certain design elements reflect the age of the building.
Although we were not affected much by it, it’s worth noting that the hotel does not have on-site parking. You need to use the public underground parking garage nearby, which may be less convenient for guests arriving by car. The hotel staff kindly issued a single invoice for the duration of our stay, which saved us the hassle of paying each time. Still, clearer parking instructions in advance would be helpful for first-time visitors.

Central location with everything on the door step!
Pros:

This hotel is in a fantastic central location that makes getting there, from the central station, and getting around, with numerous train, bus, and tram options. We ate both dinner and breakfast in the hotel, and the food was good. The selection at breakfast is excellent.
