Very disappointing

Staff at front desk very nice.

Cons:

The hotel lobby was nice but hallways and staircases very run down. Room was ok but bathroom was very small and old, discolouration ect, not from being unclean but just very used and worn.
Early morning the staff in the hallways were very loud, shouting to each other.
Drawer said hairdryer and there wasn't one. I was in a rush so didn't call down to get one but it was a little annoying not to have one in the room.

This is the best hotel to stay at when I visit my family who live in and around the area

Good access room for improvement...
Pros:

Good level sign posts and check in was easy.
The receptionist was pleasant confirming payment and clear directions to the accommodation.

Cons:

The shower wouldn't drain and there was no receptionist available on the night shift to raise the concerns too.
The room was very cold and took ages to heat up,
Parking is a separate cost which I may have overlooked or was unclear.
Buffet style breakfast which would lead to high levels of waste due to low footfall on this occasion, many of the trays were being topped 5 minutes prior to breakfast concluding it also wasn't very hot.
I have chosen not to share the photos as the concerns are not insurmountable and could be a one off on this occasion

Great trip and lovely people
Pros:

Fabulous staff and very welcoming. Great communal areas, bright and cheerful.

Cons:

Some rooms are a little tired and need attention but we were made aware that upgrades are available. We would ask for this on our next visit.

Pros:

Stayed due to my wife needing an operation at a nearby hospital. Initially expected as 1 night only and then needed to change to 2. Staff on reception were very friendly and helpful in organising another night for me which was a great relief.
