Hotel Restaurant was excellent
Not enough parking when restaurant was full
Michelle and Owen are excellant! Sitting next to the Lake. Free coffee.
Particularly regarding the predominant elderly population, and if possible, you might like to take a look-at safety in the tubs. No holds is just waiting for an accident.
The hotel is ideally located, right on the lake. We found it well worth paying extra for a lakeside room: it was super extra special to have a chance to sit on the balcony and look at the lake. For a mobility impaired person in our group this was wonderful.
Renting the hotel's pontoon boat was a highlight of the stay. Highly recommended. One hour is plenty of time to circle the lake at least twice.
The hotel is ideally located for a trip to Tanglewood, but must be booked well in advanced, because it fills up quickly.
The breakfast is mediocre, but the breakfast room is wonderful, overlooking the lake. Coffee and tea are available 24/7.
There are no restaurants in the immediate vicinity (except the Indian restaurant in the hotel). The nearest town of Lee is cute, but very small. Lennox, however, is very well worth a visit, don't skip it.
It would be great to install a handicap door button. It is very difficult to bring in and out a person in a wheelchair.
Beautiful view, convenient kayak rental, great location, clean and comfortable room, nice outside deck for each room.
No light switch by the door. Otherwise great!
The location directly on the lake. Beautiful setting. Good breakfast and staff a 2 minute drive to the beach. Nothing like swimming in a beautiful cool lake book a lakefront room
Stay was very friendly and gave recommendations on places to eat and visit in the rain.
Room with a Lakeside view, nice balcony. Dog friendly. Breakfast choices were decent.
The walls are thin, could definitely hear your neighbors walking around or talking. The hairdryer set off the smoke alarm.
Being able to rent kayaks at the hotel was convenient and such fun for visiting grandson. Also a beach down a wooded path around the corner (very short drive) was great for kids. Very close to Tanglewood. Breakfast was pretty standard motel fare, but did have a latte/hot chocolate machine.
The room was fine, but quite small. We had a parking lot view. Only the people who were on the first of two floors facing the lake had a place to sit in front of their room. Not that many chairs by the lake, and little shade. Didn’t seem that easy to enjoy the lake setting from hotel.
We loved sitting out on our balcony overlooking the cove, using the kayaks, and having access to the town beach. Our bed was comfortable, the room spotless, and the location was perfect - just minutes away from restaurants and attractions. Michelle, the desk clerk, was friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was adequate with a selection of pastries, juices and cereals. Pancakes, yogurt, fruit, hard boiled eggs, breakfast sandwiches and almond milk for coffee were also provided as options.
For breakfast, only the rubbery pancakes and the lack of granola were a disapointment.
The hotel is located on a lovely small lake, with access to a beach (down the road from the motel). It was nice just sitting by the water after a busy day.
Housekeeping did an excellent job, in a timely manner. (On recent stays at a couple of other hotels, trying to get housekeeping service was very spotty.)
The included breakfast had a nice selection and I loved the self-serve specialty coffee machine. The location was good though not "walkable". There is an Indian restaurant on the property but we weren't up for Indian food on this visit.
The toilet in our room was not set right, so it wobbled every time I sat on it (which is kind of disconcerting). There were other things around the property that needed to be repaired.
The room was on the small side, and like most hotels these days, the bed was a platform (no box spring) so it's very hard.
We booked this ahead of time, but the same-day rate was about half of what we paid. (I know that's how hotels work but it still hurts.)
Beautiful property with the lake behind the hotel. We have been staying there for many years. Restaurant is delicious!
great place, great location. simple
Location
Tired, understaffed, lousy breakfast
Lake front beautiful and staff very nice
Second floor with creeky old staircase and no elevator. Rooms v old with TVs that cannot connect to streaming services.

When we arrived for our long-anticipated return to the Black Swan lakeside, my elderly mother was treated rudely and dismissively before our reservation was canceled. The dude running the desk could have EASILY been more kind about not allowing cats. Or like, kind at all. Guests are always going to book 3rd party—maybe cover your bases instead of yelling at an old lady? Zero hospitality points this visit.
The scenery and how close stores were.
