Novotel Canberra offers limited undercover, self-car parking for in-house guests only at $35 per car per day. Due to the limited spaces available, unfortunately parking cannot be reserved or guaranteed. To make your arrival and departure at the hotel easier, there is a drop off area in front of the hotel, where guests can unload luggage with the assistance of luggage trolleys. Alternatively, off-site public parking areas are located close by.Guests are required to show a photo ID and credit card upon check-in. Please note that all Special Requests are subject to availability and additional charges may apply.

The location is about the only good thing about this place
It is advertised as having onsite parking (which it does) however we were made to park in an over flow carpark which is a 5-10 minute walk from the venue, not ideal when you arrive after dark and walking through unfamiliar area on your own.
On arrival, the allocated keys didn’t work and wouldn’t open the door. When I went back down to the foyer, instead of just checking the keys, the man behind the counter felt the need to send a staff member up with me to man-splain how to open a door like I’m some kind of idiot….what do you know, the keys didn’t work….like I had said.
The room was filthy and all the furniture was damaged. Carpet was stained and crusty. The room smelt musty. General housekeeping was missed there was milk spilt down a cupboard that had just dried there, don’t really know how you could miss that. Marks, stains and damage all over the walls. Black mould in bathroom and dirty grout on bathroom floors, curtains were also stained and disgusting. The room is far from the photos displayed on advertising websites. The foyer is grubby and basic, elevators were grubby. The only bonus was the bedding at least “appeared clean” but that was the extent of it. In all honesty they should have paid us to stay there….dont fall for the photos displayed, it is t what you will be getting. Overall DISGUSTING and couldn’t get out of there quick enough.
I liked the comfort and spacious King room and facilities, the breakfast options were very good, the staff in the restaurant were excellent. There was always a table free for a comfortable delicious breakfast. Desk staff very friendly and helpful also. A well located hotel for travel to anywhere in the city.
I was disappointed that I didn't get a bath in the room, I booked a larger sized king room with balcony hoping I would get a bath, but I didn't get a bath. The balcony opened onto the area underneath and at the back of the hotel which was the bus station and so there was noise and fumes from idling buses most of the evening and so I didn't use the balcony. But it was nice to have some air in the room, and to be close to transport.

Great location and the staff were lovely! They also catered to my child’s birthday and made him feel special which I appreciate. Good range of food at the Brekky buffet too.
The indoor pool is definitely not warm enough! I’m late May with doors that open to the outside elements it should be heated MUCH more. It was pretty uncomfortable even my kid didn’t want to get in. Also the rooms are clean but just feel…tired. Not really premium to be honest.

Tired room furnishings with torn curtain, beer bottle cap on the chair which made me wonder what else had been omitted in the cleaning after previous guest. Very unusual kitchen/bathroom sink combo

I booked thru after pay and I was charged thru there , then my keycard was charged twice after I gave the keycard at check in to pay the $1 holding fee , but was charged in total 3 tines for the room , when I questioned it the staff didnt want to help at all ... so for a 3 x charge im not happy at all .. rooms very noisey as could hear neighbours all night walking round their room , doors slamming, then on checkout i was told i had to pay for the fire alarm going off which wasn't our room , they argued with me for ages , then realised it wasn't my room , so eventually was aloud to leave ..
Over all , not impressed
Location was good
Bed was terrible - felt like sleeping on a bouncy trampoline. Room lay out was terrible.........basin was outside the bathroom which was unnecessary considering the size of the bathroom.
