Excellent location, Lots to see in the Zambezi river. A number of extra activities available such as boat cruises and fishing. Suitable place to family and friends.
Poor food, more than 2 hours waiting periods for dinner to be served. For being South African to pay R580 for a bottle of wine that retail in South Africa for R90 is day light robbery! All prices elevated in dollars. Display of food of poor quality and you are very lucky if you order something from the menu and it is available. The setting is great though and rooms a bit dated. The hotel is also busy with renovations as the thatched roof urgently needs attention. Rooms are clean and linnen fresh. Sunset cruise was the highlight
The place is absolutely beautiful and the location along the banks of the Mighty Zambezi River is refreshing. The rooms are always clean and protected from insects.
DEFINITELY NOT 4 STAR. WOULD NOT RETURN.
This place was not up to standard. Management decided last minute to do maintenance without informing potential guests or travel companies. Contractors and black bags covering many of the areas, total invasion of privacy.
Room was small, unkept amenities made it very uncomfortable. 1 toilet roll, broken toilet paper holder, no hand soap etc etc
No Buffett breakfast due to low occupancy as per management - inexcusable
No water at breakfast and tried to then charge me for a bottle of water 🤬
While Richard & Lucy and his management team tried to resolve the matter by giving us a bigger room we also managed to see many of the other hotel options and would’ve no doubt chosen a different place to stay.
There was nice touches like a birthday cake, message on the bed and a bottle of bubbles after laying complaints however this hotel needs serious TLC.
I feel that management at times were embarrassed and avoided us after laying complaints with our travel agent, they also claimed to be looking for us to rectify the situation and could not find us- we were basically the only people on site at the pool on the day. We then had to approach them to resolve the matter.
While the staff and welcoming and friendly this resort is not 4 star, 3 a most.
Tranquil afternoons along the river are nice however most of the jetty’s are broken and a health and safety hazard.
Definitely would not recommend or Return.
Very nice hotel located right on the river which makes it a very peaceful location. It's slightly outside of town (5 mins by car) but they have free shuttles to the centre and all tours I used offer free pick up from this hotel. Rooms might need a bit of modernization but they are spotless clean. Food is ok and the good thing is that they accept cards for all payments without any commissions. The staff was incredibly friendly and willing to help. Overall, a very good stay and definitely an hotel to consider when in the area.
The property was nice pool was clean everything about the building was nice
I did not like the restaurant food was about 200% overpriced. I ordered a sandwich and a couple of drinks the bill came to $90. This is very unreasonable and far beyond price gouging. Anything you needed at the hotel they were charging more than 4x other places were charging. We paid $325 per night when we went for breakfast we were told we needed to pay $35 per head for breakfast that only work about $10 so we had to go to restaurants in town to eat because this hotel is a fraud in my own opinion.
Our stay at A’Zambezi River Lodge was absolutely wonderful and the perfect base for exploring Victoria Falls.
The lodge is beautifully set along the Zambezi River, with lush grounds and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. Seeing wildlife roaming the property and enjoying river views throughout the day made the experience feel truly special and immersive.
The rooms were comfortable, clean, and well-appointed, offering a peaceful retreat after full days of activities. The staff stood out the most—everyone was warm, attentive, and genuinely eager to ensure our stay was exceptional. From check-in to dining to activity coordination, the service was seamless.
Breakfasts and dinners were consistently excellent, with a great variety of fresh, well-prepared options. Dining with views of the river—especially at sunset—was a highlight of our stay.
The location is ideal: close enough to Victoria Falls and local excursions while still feeling tranquil and removed from the crowds. It struck the perfect balance between adventure and relaxation.
We would highly recommend A’Zambezi River Lodge to couples, families, and anyone looking for a memorable and comfortable stay in Victoria Falls. We would happily return.
Excellent location for a peaceful & relaxed holiday.
Service from all members of staff is excellent. Will visit again.
A true Vic Falls experience, thank you! It had everything from animal sightings, pool to cool down in the hot weather and great service all round.
We had an excellent short stay here. The location is ideal on the banks of the Zambezi, and although a little out of town, there is a complimentary shuttle bus every hour. The food was excellent and the staff very friendly and helpful. An ideal base for doing the many sightseeing activities around Victoria Falls.
Definitely recommend. Helpful, attentive and friendly staff. Beautiful location and facilities.
Everything went amazingly and the staff went above and beyond. Great food at the restaurant.
lovely African theme next to the river with exceptional staff, food and quality. Good, clean rooms with good air-con

- "Absolutely loved my stay! 🌟 The lodge’s riverside location is _breathtaking_, with hippos, warthogs, and monkeys strolling by. Staff are super friendly & bouncy—made it feel like home. Food? Delicious! Perfect for a relaxing escape."
*5/5 Stars - Perfect Blend of Luxury & Wildlife!*
- "A’Zambezi is _luxury by the Zambezi_. 😍 Balcony views, amazing breakfast buffet, and elephants grazing nearby? Yes, please! The team goes above and beyond. Ideal for nature lovers and chill vibes."
Generally, the facility is good but there are some areas you need to improve like check in and check out time.
The room was great with good linen, breakfast and dinner was good as well.
I also liked that the room is located on an area that you can view the nice garden and the mighty Zambezi river. We enjoyed our stay.
