Difficult to recommend this to anyone other than someone who needs a room only in the centre
Pros:

The location was excellent. Located in the centre, close to shops, restaurants, and easy walking distance to the old town and other notable places to visit

Cons:

While well located, there was much to be disappointed with this hotel. The staff were unfriendly, choosing in the main to communicate little or to do so reluctantly in English. In particular the lady supervising breakfast did not communicate ever with us, not even greeting us other than to request our room number. We had experienced staff in Paris and Nice hotels as part of this trip top France, who were friendly, welcoming and very helpful and especially informative in assisting us with directions and recommendations. In this case we had to ask for a map and were handed one with no comment. The hotel is dated and carpets worn and although we were in a 'prestige room' many of the wardrobe doors would not close easily, some requiring to be lifted into their frame. The pillows and duvet were polyester, poor for a hotel pricing itself at this level. Finally, there is no area to relax, with the exception of a few chairs around reception, no bar to speak of and no sense of warmth or welcome. Difficult to recommend this to anyone other than someone who needs a room only in the centre and is willing to pay above the odds (in our case in early February) for the privilege.
