Pros:

The staff were very welcoming, and while the hotel isn’t luxurious, it offers great value for money. Perfect if you’re looking for a simple, cheerful, and affordable stay.
The owners were kind and helpful, parking was convenient, and the location and view were excellent. Considering the price, everything exceeded expectations

Pros:

We decided on an ad hoc visit and came across Granby Hotel on Booking. It turned out to be a great find. We were able to park nearby easily, and the hotel kindly arranged a parking permit for us even before check-in, which made things very convenient. There were some updates happening at the property, but they were handled well and didn’t impact our stay at all. Our room was a comfortable size, well-equipped, and had everything we needed for a relaxed visit. Overall, a smooth and pleasant experience with thoughtful touches that made a difference.

Pros:

I really enjoyed the atmosphere at Granby Hotel. There was no fuss at all... I could just arrive and head straight to my room, which made everything feel easy and relaxed. The hotel has a quaint, old-fashioned charm that I personally loved, and it gave the stay a unique character. I also slept really well, which made the whole experience even better.

"The standout feature of the Granby Hotel is easily the staff. Ahmed is a great host—he is incredibly welcoming, helpful, and goes out of his way to ensure guests are settled in comfortably. His friendly attitude makes a huge difference and adds a personal touch that you don't always find in budget accommodation.
The hotel itself is a solid, no-frills choice for anyone visiting Scarborough. Its location is unbeatable, being just a short walk from both the North and South Bays and the town centre. While the building is a bit dated and traditional, the rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, and it offers excellent value for money.

The hotel was located within easy reach of the city and North Bay.

Cons:

The hotel was old and slowly falling apart, it definitely needs a proper renovation. The cleanliness was below freezing, the toilet didn't work, the rooms smelled, the room door couldn't be unlocked properly.

The staff make it special.
Pros:

A simple low cost option, with staff that really care about the guests. We had one room with a dodgy lightbulb that was changed within 20 minutes, for example (important for health reasons)! Awesome. Great location for the castle and walking distance to lots of areas. Plenty of local parking at this time of year (April).
Liked that there were even milk sachets with the tea and coffee- many other places don’t do that!

Cons:

If you’re booking a low cost hotel it’s not going to be the Ritz. It was fine for us, and we felt it was very good value for money, with all the things we needed.
