Hampton Inn Key West FL

My room had a spectacular view of the ocean and the pool. However, the nearest elevator was a long walk away and the motel did not seem to be well-maintained. It was difficult to sleep because the A/C made loud noises every time it shut off. Also, I had problems with my {very heavy} front entry door and rear sliding glass door. The maintenance guys barely spoke English so it was difficult to communicate with them. Additionally, the "rain" showerhead had poor water pressure. I was surprised that for an upscale FLORIDA establishment, the breakfast room did not provide real orange juice. Due to the frequent shuttle and trolley stops there, it would be very convenient for guests to have at least one outdoor bench to sit on while waiting. Most times that I needed to call the front desk there was no answer. A good general manager would definitely be an asset here.

The room was clean and bathroom spacious compared to other properties.

Great resort! We had a partial suite and the room, bathroom and balcony were huge. The location was not a problem - within walking distance to the airport, a small grocery store and 2 very nice restaurants. I liked coming back to the resort after being downtown which is crowded especially when the cruise ships are in town. We rented bikes one day and rode around the island. I used the exercise room and it had good working equipment. We ate at the Cheekie Hut quite a few times and the food was good, especially the pizza. Breakfast was standard for a Hampton Inn and had plenty of options each day. The pool was large and we had no problems finding lounging chairs. The road in front of the hotel has a large walking/bike path and we took daily walks by the ocean. The only thing I would change is to have the rooms clean daily (they don't unless you ask) and more towels in your room. The staff is very nice with everyone greets you with a smile. We will be back next year!

My first impression was, as Martha in Who’s Afraid of Virginia Wolfe said, “What a dump.” Also, if you like being awakened at 6 AM by loud jets roaring above you, this is your place. I was so disappointed by this Motel as I would not call it a Hotel or Resort.

The room was clean but I wouldn’t touch a thing in their complimentary breakfast since the area was not clean. Post Covid housekeeping should be daily not every few days either. The front desk was not friendly or helpful, either.

This is a wonderful beachside resort, a bit away from downtown. It has a resort sized pool, private balconies for every room, and a 45 minute turn shuttle into downtown Key West. It also has a pool bar with pub grub! The only downside is it’s under the takeoff path for Key West Airport.

The rooms are a slightly larger version of the standard Hampton Inn.

The vibe is family relaxed.
