BEST HOLIDAY EVER
Pros:

BEST HOLIDAY EVER

All of the staff are incredible, the entertainment was incredible, the food was amazing, the rooms were amazing and air conditioned and amazing. Everything was incredible. Warning though, the main pools are very very deep so be careful if you have little ones. The smaller pools around the resort are perfect depth though!

Pros:

We rented a car from sol to be delivered to our hotel the minura in Cala Galdena
Menorca, They were on time the car was clean and the driver who delivered it was
very nice, Paperwork took a few seconds and he showed us to the car and that was
it , we had a wonderful time driving all over Menorca. We fueled up full tank and left it
on the car park across from the hotel to be collected. So thanks to Sol Car hire we wouldnt hesitate to use you again next time we are in that area. Mary & Simon from England.

What a place
Pros:

This was our second trip to Sol Falco . We loved it so much in 2023 we came back this year . It was just as good . Improvements have been made to the decor etc . One of the main reasons we came back to this hotel was due to the lovely staff , from reception to cleaners and animation team. We were very pleased upon arrival when we realised it was the same staff throughout . Anna on reception was immaculate , friendly and helpful . I would actually like to personally contact her if management see this . You can tell her my names Jack from uk and I came with my family at the start of October . My email is jackspark90@outlook.com if she wants to email . Just to thank her .

The food and atmosphere was slightly different this time of year as we came in June last time . It was just as good and we were happy . Our little boy loved the slides , the pool, the table tennis etc .

Rooms were cleaned and fresh towels everyday . This hotel is a genuine clean and lovely place to create memories with your family

Great for families who want an all-in-one all-inclusive hotel.
Pros:

I will start my review by explaining I had worked on the island over twenty years ago as a holiday rep for a large but now defunct UK holiday company for two summer seasons. For this reason I have always had a fondness for the island and have returned a few times since, but my most recent visit was my first proper holiday there in a considerable time. Whenever I have visited in the past I have chosen Cala'en Bosch because it is perhaps the resort with the most amenities and choice on the island. I booked a week's holiday at Sol Falco since it was actually a really good deal. Originally I was going to take the half board option as it was similar in price to self catering for the same dates, then I saw it was only only £20 a day more for all-inclusive, so it seemed a no brainer even if we were out exploring during the and ate lunch elsewhere, then we would still have our evening drinks included.

We arrived via coach transfer in the early afternoon of the 27th of September. Our transfer did have a number of stop off's but that isn't a reflection on the hotel. We were checked in, given two card keys to our room, an all-inclusive band and two cup tokens as well as a map to our room. Being a couple in a family complex, I had emailed in advance to ask if they could allocate us a room in a quiet area or by an adult pool if they had one. The room they allocated was on the first (middle) floor of the Hacienda block just outside of the main block and did have a view of the small pool and even a little bit of sea in the distance.

The room was very simple. Two single beds, a sideboard with mini fridge, fold out chair/bed and a side table. The balcony wasn't very deep, but was the full width of the room and had a table and two chairs. The patio door lock was a little tricky but we got used to it. The black-out curtains in our room didn't quite meet in the middle but the sheer curtain did, so the light still woke us in the morning. The wardrobes were large, with a few hangers, but I bring my own as back-up. Instead of doors, your clothes are hidden behind a curtain.

The bathroom had a narrow glass partitioned shower cubicle with hand-held shower or rainfall function. The floor in the shower cubicle had no grip at all, it was flat slippery plastic and you really had to be careful. We had a sink/vanity with plenty of storage beneath and a toilet. Plenty of toilet paper provide. The hotel do have pump action bottles of shower gel and shampoo if you want to save space in your luggage. The maid tidied round and replenished what might have been required, but one morning she knocked at 08:45 which I thought was too early, and when I say knocked, that's all she does, you don't get chance to even reply, she knocks and then she's in the room. So it does pay to use the do not disturb sign, but I didn't think I would be disturbed at that time. The room had good air-conditioning and the do not disturb/clean my room sign was inserted in the slot meaning it was on when we returned to our room without the need for leaving a key.

There is one large buffet/dining hall for all guests to use, off from that was a hacienda style semi-open air patio with water feature. We ate all of our meals there, as the main dining room was large and the noise travelled. I managed to eat three meals a day, there was always something, it wasn't amazing, but it was ok. I liked that it wasn't all burgers, pizzas and nuggets, there was a variety and there was always meat or fish being cooked directly from grill to plate. You could help yourself to water on tap or the fruit juice machine even when it wasn't a breakfast service. I tried a number of soups as there were always two options at lunch or dinner, and I did find them to be bland and tasteless, as was the butter margarine that I would spread on the bread rolls - it was like a waxy nothingness. If you were all inclusive you could get wine and beer from a small bar at the end of the buffet near the desserts. There was also a self service soft-serve ice cream machine.

There is one central bar that serves the whole hotel daytime (including as a pool bar) and night up until around 10:30pm when the evening entertainment finished. There are usually only two bar staff serving at any one time and another staff member running about getting stock. There wasn't really a defined queue, so it was pot-luck how quickly you were served. I will say though this hotel needs a specific coffee bar. All coffee is freshly made and it isn't time efficient to have two bar staff making cups of coffee whilst the queue is growing larger. A separate coffee bar away from the main bar for hot drinks would in theory reduce the queue and also time stood when queuing.

The all-inclusive drink system works on a token system. You are issued with one each. You take the token to the bar, request your drink, you are given your drink (in glass in the restaurant), in a plastic tumbler in just about any other instance. You return glass/tumbler for your next drink or your token to be returned, simple way of reducing wasteful plastic. However it's a bit sad that you end up drinking beer, mixed-spirits, wine or cocktails all out of this rather child-like plastic tumbler.

There is a snack bar behind the main bar where all-inclusive guests could help themselves to sweets, crisps, burgers, hot dogs, nuggets and chips. Very often these were sat out for a long time and were dry and inedible.

The hotel has a massive family pool with some small water slides and a tipping bucket. There are daily activities for both adults and kids. There is a swimming pool for lengths as well as smaller/quieter pools in outlying accomodations blocks, it's a really large complex. Something that I did notice about the complex was the number of access points from outside, meaning kids could literally walk out of the hotel or someone could come in very easily. It's not particularly secure. You can walk straight from the family pool area out to the road bypassing reception very easily, so if you have wandering kids, you'd have to be very vigilant.

There was a gate in front of our block that leads down a path to the Son Xoriguer beach in five minutes. This gate could be opened by anyone from 7 years of age, it wasn't locked. I can't say that I really noticed much in regards to security. I think a complex of this nature, attracting large numbers of families would be set up more securely, with all access being limited to a central point.

On the note of families being the bread and butter of the hotel, I expected to see many families during our visit, that isn't an issue for us, but I did see questionable parenting practices, that isn't an issue the hotel can be held to account. To give some context to this, I saw numerous people who thought it was appropriate to face-time their friends and families on speaker phone from their table whilst eating their meals, paying no attention to their kids who were usually propped in front of an ipad. I have no place telling anyone how to bring up their kid, that's their business, but having the most inane and vapid self-indulgent non-conversation at volume whilst others are just trying to have a pleasant meal says a lot about the kind of clientele that gravitate here. Had this been a one off, I probably wouldn't even have mentioned it, but I really got tired of seeing people do this at the table or walk around the hotel with with their phones not to their ear but on speakerphone at arms length conducting their private business in public. I didn't see any of the well-mannered Spanish or French doing this, it was actually embarrassing. Paying all this money and you can't just be in the moment and enjoy your surroundings.

Other than that, the hotel manage to cater to those who want a one-stop shop of everything on-site for all their needs and who might never actually see anything of Menorca. Having lived and worked there, I did hire a car and got out to check out more of the island, which I recommend anyone to do, it's a stunning place. If you can't do that, there are buses regularly into Ciutadella for a change of scene or the lovely little marina where you will find the central resort amenities of Cala'en Bosch, it's around a twelve minute walk.

At night the hotel do put on a show, I saw two. The Mongolian dance troupe/acrobats and also a magic show, both of these were impressive, but basically it's 45 minutes and then it closes. On the Tuesday after our third night of our stay, I received news of a family emergency at home, so we had to cut short the trip there and then, it was a shame as apart from some of the negative points about the bar/token system and some of our fellow countrymen, the hotel was growing on me. I never even made it into any of the pools.

In summary, I would recommend this on a bed and breakfast or half board basis, all-inclusive could be good value if you are a budget-minded family but as a couple I really wouldn't. At its heart this hotel is really geared up for families, it's not dreadful if you are a couple or a group of friends, so don't rule it out if you get a good deal, but I think there are other options in the area that may suit better

Don’t cater for the British
Pros:

First of all, in my opinion, this is not a four star hotel with only one bar for the amount of people is crazy I know it’s a family hotel some days the Restaurant look like a poor café the food was always cold when asked about this they said the guests like it like that but not the British would never go back to this hotel , our room was short of some maintenance. The one thing about this hotel that was good was the staff.

Good for a budget stay
Pros:

Hospitality was good, staff were nice and accommodating.

Hot food options were not great. Flavourless, stale, overcooked and just really not a 4* standard.

Drinks were good atleast to make up for the food.

People in the entertainment were great and hospitable, so kudos to them.

Overall a decent experience, but would probably not hurry to go back

Average but could be great
Pros:

Here now.First few days ok.
However have noticed some of the food stations shut now.less choice.
Meats chewy at times.Some undercooked.
Same dishes reused time and again.
No plain yoghurt for breakfast last two days..no eggs this morning .only cold omelette. Hard sausages...Seems standards slipping by day.
Shame as pool is nice and staff nice.
Room is good too.
Just the food a bit disappointing as time goes on.

If you enjoy cold food
Pros:

We’re here at the moment and must say I’m really disappointed. The food is not the best always cold and most of the meat is undercooked.
Rooms are ok
What shocked us most was watching the cleaners mopping the floors in the bar/ restaurant area and putting the dirty water into the fountain which is in the middle of the outdoor seating area of the restaurant 🤮🤮
Usually have 3 holidays a year and must say this is one for near the bottom of the list.
I do take most reviews with a pinch of salt but definitely wouldn’t recommend this one.

Another nice trip to Cala'n Bosch
Pros:

This was a return trip to the Sol Falco for us, though it was 2015 last time we were here. The hotel's obviously had a refresh in the intervening years, but basically it's the same, though the Flintstones theme has gone, no bad thing to be honest. Same goes for the resort, I didn't see any big developments, which is in perfect keeping with Menorca's reputation as the more quiet, tranquil and authentic Balearic holiday destination. We travelled with Jet2 who offered the option of a ground floor family room with its own small patio, sunbeds, table and chairs. We also emailed the hotel separately to request a room that got the sun in the afternoon. This is exactly what we got, so full marks for that. The hotel is made up of separate blocks, three stories high, but no lifts, so be sure to specify your requirements if you have any mobility issues. The room was fresh, no problems with the fixtures and fittings. There was a fridge and a safe (€18/week for the safe), no kettle or tea coffee making stuff, but you could hire a kettle for €18/week (We brought our own travel kettle and coffee). We used the fridge to store soft drinks and water that we'd bought from the local shop, just being lazy as the 300m round trip to the bar from our patio made the small extra expense worthwhile. The room was generally very clean but the loo could've done with a loo brush running around under the rim to make it spotless, and the top of the shower head would benefit from a wipe down, though I liked the big walk-in shower. The beds were two singles pushed together, I prefer a double, but slept fine anyway. There was a TV that had several English language news channels. As we travelled after the schools had gone back most of the hotel guests were older couples (like us) and families with pre-school age children and babies. This was a good mix and again fitted the laid back vibe of the hotel. We tended to lounge around by our room but there seemed to be plenty of spare sunbeds around the pools at any time of the day. As some others have noted the pools are around 1.7m to over 2m deep, lifeguards were present, but just be aware. We only went in the oblong pool at the rear of the hotel, at around 25m long and 1.7m deep (I'm 5' 11'' and could touch the bottom OK) it was great for getting a few lengths in, although we were probably in the minority as most of the time we had the whole pool to ourselves, which was great. The hotel was popular with Spanish guests from the mainland, who maybe outnumbered the Brits, I also heard a lot of French spoken, but obviously no problem getting by in English around the hotel and the resort. From experience I'd put the quality and variety of food in the top third of hotels we've visited. Always good meat/fish options, I had no problem filling my plate, only thing I missed was something like a wholemeal French bread at breakfast, but think that's just a regional thing. Outside the hotel we enjoyed a walk down to the marina and a wander around the shops and bars that surround it. It's not massive, but there's all the essentials down there, once you've done a lap you will have seen almost everything that Cala'n Bosch has to offer as most of the surrounding areas are residential. A round trip from the hotel is about 2km, just right for an after dinner walk. There's a lighthouse on the south western tip of the Island about 1km further on which marks a popular spot for watching the sun setting over Mallorca. If you're an early riser then just a short walk out of the rear of the hotel you can also catch the sunrise viewed from the Cami de Cavalls trail on the small headland between Cala'n Bosch's two beaches. The Cami de Cavalls trail goes around the Island and the path to the East and North of Cala'n Bosch offers several kilometres of uninterupted rugged coastline, appropriate footwear required if you want to venture along these paths though. We walked to Cala Blanca, the next resort heading North along the West coast, this was a 19km round trip, a good half day walk to stretch your legs. Can't comment on the evening entertainment as we generally went out after dinner, also we did not spend any time down at the local beaches, but overall we enjoyed our week here and would have no problem returning at some time in the future.

Pros:

Second year in a row staying at this hotel. We just love it. Cannot fault it. Nice and clean, great friendly staff and perfect location.

I emailed to ask for a room where we were located last year as was the perfect location. We were given the room next door, which was ideal.

No doubt be booking again for next year.

A lovely hotel for families, couples and solo holiday makers. Brilliant.
Pros:

Friendly welcoming and helpful that applies to all the staff, from the reception desk to the gardeners.
We had requested a ground floor sol room, more than happy with room provided and even had a shower chair and supports in the bathroom area.
Room was cleaned everyday by excellent team of cleaners.
Eating and drinking is definitely value for money, plenty of each available. The restaurant is spacious and lots of seating for the bar area.
Clean and well looked after pools.
Loads to do the entertainment team will get you involved or leave you in peace if you wanted to just chill and watch.
Beach is very close down a avenue of palm trees .

Three old friends just having a nice time.
Pros:

This hotel was booked through Tui as an all inclusive holiday, the three of us all had our own rooms next to each other in the Rancho Block this is the closest block to the beach, we were hoping for a sea view but sadly this was not to be as we had trees outside our balcony meaning no view at all. That said there were many trees around the hotel so many room had no views. the rooms were a nice size, clean and modern, fridge and an excellent shower, the room was serviced everyday.

This is quite a large complex spread out over a large area, but as it is only a maximum of three stories high it does not feel large.

The restaurant is large as it need to cater for lots of people, on our first few days here we never had any trouble finding a table and there was always plenty of food, but later into the week it became a lot busier and finding a table was not so easy and food would run out, there is space to sit outside by one of the pools in the BBQ area or a courtyard within the restaurant.
The choice of food was vast for meat eaters and vegetarians, there was all the usual chips and pizzas but there was always fresh meat and fish , ( my favorite was the pork cheek in red wine sauce and the lamb shank), this was so tender it just fell of the bone, quite amazing when they cook such huge quantities of food they can do this so well.
Fresh fruit was there but you had to be careful what you chose as some of it was hard and unripe.
For a hotel this size and the amount of food to cater for so many people, it was really good, my only real complaint is some of it could be cold, but there is a couple of microwaves available to pop your food in and give it a warm up if you want to.

Evening entertainment was the usual kids club stuff, which we gave a wide berth to, but there was always a show after that for the families, which was always outside entertainers not the hotel staff.

Bar staff are all quite friendly and a shout out goes to Gabriel, really friendly and chatty even to us Brits.

There are seven pools around this hotel the large main pool with the slides, one note of caution to the main pool two out of the three sections are deep water both nearly 7 feet deep, so small children have to be supervised, there are lifeguards but they tend to concentrate on the slides, a large rectangular pool just around the corner to the main pool, the rest are dotted around the complex they are much quieter and relaxed if you want to just chill. Not so easy to get a sunbed around these though as the towels seem to appear about 7am.

The entertainment staff around the main pool were always busy and of course very up beat, another shout out to Nadia and Ivan. Your energy was just incredible.
I really liked this hotel, I thought the token system for the cups for your drinks worked really well, no cups being left all around the pool area, kept it nice and tidy.

Did we enjoy this hotel? Yes
would we recommend this hotel? Yes
Would we stay again ? Yes

Certainly be back
Pros:

I’m not sure why people complain about the token system. It’s simple- you are given a token per person, you hand them in you get drinks all day if you want. When you’re done you simply tell them, they give you back the tokens and you do the same the next day. It’s clearly to stop people leaving rubbish all over by using reusable cups! It in no way affects the all inclusive experience.

The staff are lovely, really get involved with guests but don’t pester if you say no thank you.

Rooms, clean, good facilities. Beds made and floors mopped daily.

Pool is looked after, fun for everyone and very clean.

Food is varied and there will be plenty for you to eat.

Great transport links with a bus stop outside the hotel. Marina is less than a 10 minute walk away.

All in all a great hotel. Lovely experience and already looking at coming back next year.

Lovely clean hotel, lovely food and great activities.
Pros:

Great hotel, so many things to do! Kids club was great, adult entertainment also great (didn't always run what they advertised) but still did some good stuff. Clean hotel, wide variety of food and very tasty. Didn't even struggle with a toddler who is allergic to dairy, he ate really well. Good labels for allergens. Lots of pools, great splash park and 3 fun slides, only complaint is no slides for smaller kids as the pool is deep at the other side but my almost 2 year old did manage with his floats on. Rooms had everything that was needed. Not a huge amount to do in the surrounding area but it is right next to a bus stop with buses every 30 mins to a bigger town so we went there a couple of times. If you want a relaxing holiday with some hotel activities this place is for you.

Beware on Slides!!
Pros:

We have just returned from a week's holiday at Sol Falco and had a brilliant week. I want to start with my faults and my biggest one being the slides. The slides are accessed from the ankle depth splash park which is amazing for kids. There is noone manning the slides on the access end so nothing stopping toddlers accessing if eyes taken off them. We arrived and on our first day I took our 3 year old son in the splash park, he wanted to go down a slide. He can't swim and he's little so he went down on my knee. Maybe I should have checked but I assumed the pool on the other side would be shallow or at least be able to stand up. I think it was 1.9m I couldn't stand, I quickly realised it was going to be deep and lifted my son but we both went under. No lifeguard came to help or any on lookers for that matter. My husband was on the splash park side so he couldn't see us.nit was terrifying. A few parents said they had had similar experiences or something said they had seen the other side first so wouldn't let their children down. My mistake for not checking maybe and assuming but the alarming thing is if a child who can't swim is playing in the splash park and sees all the other children going down the slide they may think I'll go too and then they can't stand up or be seen.

The slides aside, the food was great, entertainment was good and the beach and marina are in walkable distance which was lovely.
