Pretty good location nice and clean staff are lovely but beds way too hard and uncomfortable
Pros:

The staff were excellent and it was very clean

Cons:

The beds were extremely hard very uncomfortable. The shower was hot but didn’t have a particularly good jet and the toilet wouldn’t flush away the toilet roll.

Very disappointing.
Pros:

The room was very comfortable and the breakfast was good.

Cons:

I was deeply offended by one of the staff. I travelled from Spain to Sheffield on 26th February for a business meeting and booked a double room. My daughter is studying Law at Sheffield Hallam University. As I was in Sheffield we decided to have dinner together at the hotel. She arrived and we got a drink at the bar. Upon ordering a second drink I was asked if she was old enough to drink and I said yes, she is 19, but no formal ID was requested. Shortly after we were served the second drink I was approached by a member of staff who asked for my daughters details. When I questioned why he gave me a discerning look and said "Well, there's clearly two people staying in the room now." This insinuated that I was having a young girl stay in my double room overnight. I was quite shocked as this assumes that I, a 63 year old business man, was intending to have a young, it felt like paid for, young girl stay overnight. I explained that she was my daughter and she was at Hallam, not that that is any business of the member of staff. We ordered dinner but while we were eating my daughter felt as if everyone was looking at her like she was an escort. As soon as dinner was finished she felt so self conscious that she said she had to leave. Subsequently both my daughter and I felt extremely offended and she felt embarrassed. I travel often to the UK with my job and I have stayed at the Ibis in Leeds 3 times in the last 2 months to visit a 2 year project. I am not entirely sure I will be wanting to again.

Hotel - great, shame about some noisy guests this time.
Pros:

Good location for Ponds Forge

Cons:

It was noisy at night - the walls seemed pretty thin!! We could hear the TV above us, and then somebody started playing music!! It was gone 10pm which I know isn’t early for a Friday night, but it impacted our stay as needed to be up at 6 for swimming comp.

Might be better having a quieter floor/area for swimmers, considering it must be used a lot for this at weekends!
