Terrible.
Pros:

Advertised as air con, didn’t have air con so didn’t stay there. Won’t refund.

Cons:

Desperate need of modernisation and maintenance. Rooms do not have advertised facilities.

The hotel was so beautiful and such a big place! The staff especially the young lady that checked us in was so good and friendly with us when we had been out in the wrong room she sorted it right away

No worth a visit
Pros:

The idea of the place is quite nice. Sadly the execution is not.

Cons:

Somewhere along the line hotels got out of the practice of providing a good night's sleep. They seem to prioritise everything but. My suite was above the hotel bar so I had a concert in my room until 22h30 or so. The staff basically said there was nothing they could do. A few other notes: the shower didn't drain so the water seeped into the bedroom. The chlorine smell in the spa area was so potent that it was clear the pools were not well kept. The food was mediocre at best and the singer from the bar was also in the dining room making conversation difficult. I hope to avoid returning.

Disappointed with the room
Pros:

Location is very nice

Cons:

The room was very disappointing it does not match the standard set outside the room. There was no a/c in the room and it was very hot. I would hate to be in that room mid summer. The bathroom had urine in the toilet not flushed possibly from last guest or house keeping I did not complain as I had already been in the room for over 2 hours before having to use the bathroom. There was visible damage to the top of the table, there was a visible stain on the chair in the room and if I want to be really picky the tv was very outdated & the bed was two singles put together when I requesting a double bed. I would not expect this from a very sought after location such as mottram hall. It feels like all the attention was given to the experience outside the rooms such as spa restaurant golf and paddle but at an additional cost which is understandable. For someone who stayed in the room unfortunately I have been in better premiere inn rooms.

Great staff
Pros:

Great staff
Barney’s staff were brilliant
Reception staff lovely and housekeeping

Cons:

Before I stayed I received a lovely email asking if I needed anything. I asked for rooms close by.
No response received back and rooms far apart.Maybe don’t send the email if you are not going to respond back. This manages people’s expectations.

Pleasant stay but not exceptional,
Pros:

We attended a wedding and stayed 2 nights, the food and cleanliness were really good

Cons:

The catering service at the wedding was shocking as staff not trained and rude, the reception staff again not trained, but wasn't able to check us out as lack of knowledge, at breakfast they ran out of tea, coffee, milk, pastries, eggs, bowls, cutlery. More staff are needed to cover, the hotel is charging £15 per day for breakfast so excuses. Quality of room and decor did not match price.
