MY MEMORABLE STAY AT THE HOTEL PARK KOLKATA
Pros:

The property is excellently located. Imfact the best in Kolkata. Ambience all over in the hotel is friendly and cheerful. I found my room very comfortable well equipped with modern and maintained amenities. The returns against the value is much higher. The cleanliness is top notch. The noise level is very comfortable and acceptable. Service extended by the entire team at all levels is heartening. The hotel has provided best of the amenities. I really liked my morning and evening walks on the Park Street just outside this iconic hotel. Breakfast spread is superb. Food is always fresh and very tasty.

The location is really good

Cons:

From Check in, the concierge man was good. The FO check in person was too slow and no smile at all rather grumpy and the check in process was quite a wait.
Rooms were good and seems like I was upgraded, which I am greatly thankful but the amenities were only for 1 person even though we were 2 of us in the room.
The Bridge restaurant - hostess don't greet but busy chatting and the service staffs also don't proactively help. The lady chef was very nice and warm personality but I think the service team was quite disappointing.
The check out was the worst, probably had to wait more than 30 minutes to check out. There was just 1 lady doing check out and the other lady busy talking to another man sitting on a desk adjacent to the FO, seemed like Duty Manager. There is no sense of urgency and even help and pity the 1 person who's doing checkout and all customers next to me were waiting along with me. I told them all that I consumed from minibar yesterday had to wait for another 10 minutes for confirmation. Then entire sence of hospitality is missing in this hotel.
The hotel lobby was extremely noisy and busy and it's understandable because of Some place else and Tantra the 2 night clubs on the lobby level.
This was my second stay here and this would be my last.

Pros:

The location of the Park is excellent and very convenient if you have work in this part of town.
The security staff - those who help at the door were extremely efficient, good at their job, polite and helpful.
The restaurant staff was also helpful and polite.
Cab pick up at airport was efficiently arranged in a good quality vehicle - but 3 weeks later, I'm still waiting for the bill that the reception promised to send by email.

Cons:

The reception staff are - the less said the better - check in took over 30 mins even when we were the only ones at the desk with 3 reception staff.
Reception staff was constantly on their phones at any hour of the day.
We had to get our key cards reprogrammed every single time we came back to the hotel. Each time, it took at least 10 minutes (we have been in enough hotels using magnetised key cards to know how to handle them)
The rooms are old and jaded. Paint in the bathrooms was peeling off - there is no exhaust fan, no wonder the steam gets trapped and the paint starts to peel. Some of the corners looked suspiciously like grout and mold.

The nightclubs - the music went on till 4 in the morning and can be heard even a couple of floors higher. Not a place to stay if you are a light sleeper and are traveling on work.

The breakfast had a large spread, but the food taste and quality was average. Good thing there are so many restaurants serving amazing food in the vicinity.

Subpar Experience. It should be a 3-star hotel instead.
Pros:

Location of the hotel is good.

Cons:

They upgraded my room at check-in which I thought was great, but they gave me a room without windows. When asked for a different room, they downgraded me again.

The room I stayed in had a faulty shower so taking a bath here was rocket science. Rooms are also quite small and has seen a lot of wear. Definitely not worth the price.
