Original room had defective key lock, had to return to reception twice and ended up with different room. After long, tiring day it was frustrating not to have room accessible first time since it was quite a distance from reception to walk.

Look No Further!
Pros:

We stayed here four nights while visiting Monterey. We had a wonderful experience at this hotel. I was a little concerned since it was a picture of a Victorian house that it would be kind of like a bed-and-breakfast situation which does not appeal to me. I was worried it would be creaky and not feel very private. That picture of the house is just where they have breakfast and the office. It’s actually a very modern but beautiful and quaint hotel. No old houses. Everything was super clean. We had the deluxe double room with a fireplace. It was a wonderful location. Excellent sushi restaurant a block away (Crystal Fish). The only thing I would advise is that if you are noise sensitive and staying on the bottom level it’s pretty easy to hear people (ie rambunctious children) on the floor above you. We had noise machine and it was still bothersome, but then the noisy people left. I would definitely stay here again. Breakfast was wonderful and they also have complementary wine and cheese in the afternoon.

Very comfortable stay close to everything in Monterey.
Pros:

Great location, quiet area but close to Cannery Row attractions. Friendly and helpful staff and very comfortable rooms.

Cons:

Car parking on site was expensive and the breakfast choice was the same every day.
