Our room smelled like mildew, the window pane was not attached to the wall. It felt like the room we had used to be a storage space because other rooms seemed to be a bit nicer.

Not Up to Standard
Pros:

This hotel needs some serious updates and repairs. First, the good. The front office manager Jessica was helpful and personable. She suggested activities in Waterloo and knows the Waterloo area well. Secondly, the breakfast was pretty good. Other than that, the hotel needs major work. The furniture in the lobby is stained. Our room was very humid and smelled somewhat weird upon check-in. The ceiling in our room on the first floor had been patched previously and ended up leaking in the same spot during the night. Luckily nobody or anything of value was under the leak. Obviously, that's what made the room smell. The bathroom door stuck, the door to the room was so sticky on the outside that we were afraid to touch it. Good location but would not stay here again.
