Our stay at Althoff St. James’s Hotel & Club was absolutely perfect.

Located in the heart ❤️ of London, in the prestigious area of Westminster, the hotel offers the perfect combination of elegance, comfort, and convenience, making it an ideal choice for exploring the city.

A special thank you goes to the Manager Anoop Nayar, whose professionalism, attention to detail, and warm hospitality made our stay truly unforgettable.

The entire team at the reception was impeccable: always welcoming, helpful, and extremely professional. The breakfast team provided outstanding service. The gentlemen at the entrance, across all shifts, were consistently impeccable — professional, attentive, and always welcoming us with genuine warmth and elegance.

We would also like to express our special gratitude to the whole team for helping us prepare a beautiful surprise for my husband’s son, who arrived from Italy while we were travelling from Germany. Their kindness, flexibility, and attention to personal details made this special moment even more memorable.

The cleanliness of the room was flawless, with every detail perfectly taken care of. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the pillows were simply perfect — so comfortable that there was absolutely no need to bring our own from home 😝. Every detail was carefully considered to ensure a wonderful night’s sleep.

We especially loved the wonderful Penhaligon’s amenities, which are among our personal favorites.

The breakfast was exquisite and of the highest quality. The Eggs Benedict were absolutely delicious 😍, and the freshly squeezed orange juice was the perfect addition to a wonderful breakfast experience. We highly recommend choosing not only the Continental Breakfast but also trying the traditional Full English Breakfast — simply delightful!

A truly outstanding hotel with exceptional service, a wonderful atmosphere, and a team that makes guests feel special.

St James Hotel
Pros:

Great hotel and location. The service is fantastic from the doormen to the check-in to the staff. This was my third time and I'll be back. Also, they have the best burger I have ever had! Totally unexpected! You are a close walk (2 minutes) to Dukes Bar - famous for their Martinis.

The small hotel that delivers
Pros:

This is a fine boutique hotel that delivers. Had an enjoyable five night stay and enjoyed all aspects. The accommodations at the Althoff St. James and the staff are. excellent. I give a special nod to Rishka and Alsa (forgive my spelling). But all employees were most kind, considerate and accommodating. If you are a first time visitor to London as I was, you know how that is deeply appreciated. What a wonderful location it is , near as it is to the first time items that one would want to see. This little hotel has rooms that are deluxe and are well maintained by an excellent housekeeping staff. You are welcomed when you leave and welcomed when you come back, a very nice touch that gives you a sense of belonging so important to a foreign traveler. I had no problems to report during my stay, but if I did, I know the staff would be there ready and willing to solve them. That’s about as high of praise that I can offer. I look forward to returning and enjoying the hospitality offered to me and that I deeply appreciated

Great Location, courteous staff, esp reception

Cons:

Shower tile coming off with water squeezing out when you step on it--disgusting!! Manager offered to change room but I was leaving following morning anyways. They should have discounted the room instead for poor experience. Rooms are even smaller than what I thought, like really small, dorm-small. Rooms are dated with signs of mold in some corners.elevators are small. Rooms missing some basic amenities. Given these compromises, you should pay no more 50% of their posted prices. My expectations were higher for this place
