Ace but aircon was old and broken
Pros:

5 ppl in a room was ace

Cons:

Air-conditioning didnt work and kept turning to heating. Woke with a real sore throat from it running all night with no way to stop it
Plugs didnt work very well either

Great location - the staff were fabulous!!!!

Location and evening bar - nice atmosphere

Cons:

Sofa bed was dirty and stained. Wardrobe doors broken and no second bed sheets / quilt for the sofa bed ☹️

Great position, rooms are tired
Pros:

Cons:

For the cost per night i have stayed in better b&d,the room looked very tired, air-conditioning hardly worked even after maintenance came , broken curtains that allow sunlight in as soon as it rose, sharpe broken tiles on the bathroom floor

This was on the whole a good trip.
Pros:

staff one the whole were very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean.

Cons:

I booked to have what I thought might be a romantic meal in the Pendigo restaurant only to find that I was put in the wrong part, i.e. the bar area as they don't open the downstairs Pendigo restaurant if there are not enough people in the hotel.SO I shared my meal with the TV in the background. It was only by luck that there was a table free despite me booking one for the restaurant by phone the night before.The receptionist actually phoned me back to confirm the booking! I only found out that the Pendigo restaurant was downstairs when going to breakfast the next day which was downstairs in the Pendigo restaurant! It was also a longer walk to the NEC than expected and we had to avoid the large amount of goose/duck poo on the grassy areas. We had to hunt in the room for another pillow each as only one each was on the bed and only one set of towels out - the other set was in a plastic bag in the chest of drawers!

Very helpful, friendly staff.
Breakfast eggs perfectly cooked

Cons:

Too much furniture in room and not enough hangers(3 hangers for 2 women for 2 nights) we didn't bother unpacking.
Also a separate menu for us as we'd booked DBB, rather than an allowance against the ordinary menu.

Good if you have to be at the airport by 7am and have far to travel uk side
Pros:

Staff were helpful and location was perfect for the airport as a stop over the night before a flight. Breakfast is from 6am too - earlier than most hotels in the area.

Cons:

Im a single mum of a 9 yr old child. The lock on the bathroom was broken and I nearly got locked in the bathroom. Very scary. I have recently stayed in Crowne plaza Plymouth so can compare against. This hotel was a 6 compared to a good, solid 10 in the Plymouth franchise. (The staff at the hotel in Plymouth were outstanding, this Birmingham franchise was what you can expect from a reasonable budget brand hotel like Ibis).

Comfortable but noisy stay
Pros:

The location of the hotel is great. Walking distance from the airport and right next to many restaurants and shops.

Cons:

Poor sound proofing of the room, so that you can hear the noise from outside the window.
