Reserved a non-smoking room online. When we got there we were given the room key to 157. When we tried getting in the room the door would not unlock and it clearly looked like someone was already in it - curtains drawn, do not disturb & pets inside notice on outside door. Went back to lobby and advised staff who came and checked and indeed someone was in that room who was supposed to be in the one next door. Staff then gave us the room next to the one we were originally given. This was CLEARLY a smoking room as the entire room smelled like someone had smoked in it for 50 years. Our bedding stank of smoke and was very musty, it was permeated through the whole room. When you yawned you could literally taste the stink in your mouth. The room itself was very run down with broken furniture and even a fly swatter on the wall like a piece of artwork. The bathroom mirror was missing, the desk drawer was missing and the plug ins on top did not work. The toilet seat was peeling and looked like cracks were repaired instead of just getting a new seat. The thermostat was broken. The front door was very dirty and peeling paint. The chair by the beds was full of stains. The light fixture full of bugs. The beds were in cheap, metal frames that swayed when you moved and felt like the mattresses were held up by 2x4's. I have never stayed in a hotel as badly run down and gross feeling as this one. We ended up staying in room 158 after the room we reserved had someone else in it already. Just being in the room for the overnight - our belongings still smelled like musty, old cigarettes after getting home. If we didn't need to use c-pap machines to sleep we would have slept in the car. We wanted out of this motel as quickly as we could so we did not even try the free breakfast. The only good part of this hotel was the lady working the desk. She was very nice and very apologetic for the room mix-up.

I was surprised how very quiet it was during the night! Exceptionally so, considering an interstate and truck stop was nearby. Let me reiterate: our room ( on the back side-145- heard nor noise! Remarkable!

This used to be great when it was the Acorn. We've been staying here 2-3 times per year for 12 years. Sad to say that it's not reliable anymore. Ever since it went to new ownership they've let the gardens deteriorate and the breakfasts went to biscuits and white gravy (from burritos) - but - that's not the true problem. Two out of the three last times we tried to book a night, they let us down. Tried to bump us to a 2-queen room and charge us the extra when we booked a single queen. Bad, but not a deal breaker. However, mid May of 2026 at 8:30 AM we booked a queen room with a guy named (Begins with a 'C' and ends with a 'Y') --- He took all our information and told us the room would be on the garden side near the back ... and at what price out the door ... I told him we expected to arrive at 8:30PM. When we arrived within 15 minutes of that time, the nice woman at the counter told us that he hadn't written anything down and that they didn't have a single room available - it was a Wednesday. She even called her manager in front of me. After 12 years of satisfaction, but with recent 2 of 3 booking issues - this was our last straw. We'd driven 13 hours and now had to beg for a place to stay elsewhere at the last minute. Can't trust their word anymore. SAD, REALLY SAD!

Drive up to the room's door. Good size room and t.v.. Pet friendly.

The beds were very comfortable and the rooms clean.

Beautiful green space on the property with picnic tables. Clean, spacious, comfortable, nice parking area. Lots of meal choices nearby; some within walking distance.

Great location for visiting Hamilton and close to restaurant downtown Cameron.

Easy to get to

Parking right outside the door was convenient as we were traveling with a pup. Manager allowed us to change rooms when two adult dogs were barking at our pup for 20 minutes. (Ours was too intimidated to bark)
The bed was very comfortable. The place is somewhat dated, but the price is right. We would stay here again.

Beds were comfortable and breakfast was good. There were scrambled eggs, pancakes, and biscuits and gravy along with the typical toast, cereal, etc.
