Few relatively small improvements would have made a good stay excellent.
Pros:

Spacious room with very comfortable king size bed. Well furnished with large tv screen and tastefully decorated.

Cons:

Smallish bathroom needed somewhere to hang two bath towels. Shower had a weak flow with cheap fittings and controls. Shower screen leaked puddles onto the floor.
Room lacked anywhere to hang a coat, especially as weather was wet.

We shall back such a good hotel
Pros:

The room was good. We had breakfast out in town.

Cons:

Some niggling little things like a problem with a bath tap but nothing really.. Except being unable to get a coffee at the bar after 9pm…

Excellent
Pros:

Excellent food

Cons:

We were told that the restaurant didn't open till 6, which made it rather tight for a 7.15 production at the theatre. However, when we went there at 6 there were already people eating. And 6 is really too late for a hotel so near the theatre!

Pros:

Location was excellent.

Cons:

Hotel is now rather tired and lacking a 21st Century feel. Insufficient clothes storage, a sub standard bathroom and no coffee maker facility.

Average
Pros:

Central location
Breakfast was nice.

Cons:

Parking at £13 per night
An adjacent car park was £4
Massive hotel full of conference people, lacked the charm of a smaller hotel.
Premium view out our window was of air conditioning units mainly.
Beer selection was limited and expensive.
Very expensive for a room probably not as good as a premier inn.
Towel rail fell apart as did toilet roll holder.
Water pressure in shower was disappointing.
Shower over a bath, which can be awkward getting in and out if you’re less able.

Overpriced
Pros:

The description of the room stated airconditioning. We were given a room on the third floor with no airconditioning. The hotel said they were having air cond fitted in stages. We know other rooms have at cooling systems but not on floor three. The window was locked and could not be unlocked. The room was stifling. We asked to change rooms. Initially we were told there were no other rooms so after a few moments' consideration my husband went back down to reception and explained gently that on Booking.com air conditioning was listed. They changed our room. The staff were polite and helpful. The room on floor three had a very stained carpet and faded curtains. Floor two is better furnished All the bathrooms are cramped.

Cons:

Honest description of room.

Great location.
Pros:

The location was perfect for a visit to the RSC and for exploring Stratford. There were numerous breakfast options. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were pleasant.

Cons:

There was a long wait to check in. The bathroom was small, it was difficult to get into the bath for a shower. There was no aircon but I believe it is being upgraded.

I would definitely return to the hotel but would not pay an additional charge to update a room.
Pros:

Breakfast very nice, plenty of choice.
Lovely relaxing area’s to sit.
Excellent location. Beautiful garden.
Exceptional staff, very helpful and pleasant.
Plenty of car parking, although there was an additional charge.

Cons:

The bedroom, it was very dated and poor lighting. Bath very small and no power with the shower.
Also the room we stayed in was very noisy during the night of the 4th June with a door slamming in the downstairs area and strong smell of cigarette smoke coming through the bedroom window when we opened it.
No top up of tea, coffee water etc for the second morning.
If I had asked at reception they would have willing supplied some but I felt with the price of the rooms this would be a given.

Would stay again due to location and public areas.
Pros:

Location, close to theatre and town. Pretty outside area on the riverside. Lovely public areas - bar, dining rooms.

Cons:

Having to pay extra to park in the hotel car park. The air conditioning in the room was very noisy and ineffective. Had to switch it off overnight and then the room got too hot. Hard to find our room - too far to walk from the lifts and stairs.
