Good location excellent staff and service
Very well appointed hotel. Best breakfast in a UK hotel I've ever had . Very well run hotel. Could perhaps do with another set of stairs or lifts at far end of corridor but nit picking really. We had a standard super king room. Good facilities and mostly really clean. Enjoyed our stay we would recommend for long or short term breaks, reunions, business meetings, conferences exhibitions etc. Massive car park at 13/night extra.
Room carpet was stained in several places. It happens i guess.
Location, breakfast
Room 3059 a premier room was overlooking the river which was lovely but the noise from extractor fans was not conducive to a good night sleep. Toilet didn't flush properly had to fill waste bin with water to pour down toilet. I did report this to reception on our second evening only so it could be rectified before next guest, I used public toilet on ground floor. Bad storm on second day resulting in window leaking with water coming in. This is the fourth time we've stayed here and these faults were a disappointment for our wedding anniversary break.
Check in friendly nice pub
The toast on the main plate at breakfast. The plate looked too over full and put me off eating it. It would be better if the toast was separate. The breakfast would of looked more appetising.
Breakfast was good, lots of choice and good quality food. Location excellent and rooms big, airy and comfortable. Lovely bar and restaurant areas.
Swimming pool was far too small for the size of the hotel and there was a gym and leisure club so non residents used it too. The bathroom was a bit shabby.

The location was perfect only a few minutes away from town centre and just across the road from the canal and the beautiful river.
I would have liked the shower to be a little warmer than it was, but not too cold just cooler than normal.
Great hotel in a great location with easy access to RST. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Comfortable room, great breakfast, we'll be back.
