Nichts!
Breakfast was fabulous, great selection of food and 1st class service from everyone …. We honestly could not fault anything.
There was nothing we didn’t like, I would highly recommend this hotel
I chose this hotel based on 2 things. Firstly, the quality of the reviews and secondly, the fact that the manager, Carlos, responded to every review posted. It did not disappoint!
I feel a hotel should be judged on cleanliness, friendliness and the quality of the food. On all 3 fronts this hotel excelled.
Cleanliness:
My wife has very high standards of cleanliness and the first thing she said when we walked into our room was wow this is clean. It really was spotless.
Friendliness:
All the staff that we encountered couldn’t do enough to make our stay as trouble free and as enjoyable as possible.
Food;
This was fantastic. I wish we had done half board and not B&B. The breakfast was all delicious and a really great variety and choice and the one night we dined at the restaurant made me wish we had dined there every night.
I would thoroughly recommend this hotel and if we go and stay in the region again we will be going here. It is less than 10 minutes’ walk to the train station with lines to Pompeii, Vesuvius and Herculaneum and less than a 20n minute walk to Sorento town centre.
I had a nice trip here. I loved especially one of the summer workers named Micheal Angelo!! He was fun 🤩
Muy bueno el desayuno, la atencion excelente y servicio de traslado al centro de Sorrento
Todo muy bien!!
A friend & I spent a week at Hotel Caravel, half board, in October. We had a comfortable room, food was good & lovely staff. Fully recommended.
We had a five night stay (we booked half board with jet2). Location was great with approx 20 minute walk into Sorrento. Reception staff were excellent and help us book all our excursions which we found reasonable. The evening meals were excellent, along with the staff. Thanks to all for making us feel welcome.
We had a really lovely stay at this hotel. All the staff were excellent, we both highly recommend. Every evening plenty of choice on the menu, Anglo the head waiter, made our evenings. All staff on reception & in lounge were all very friendly and attentive. A short walk takes you to am amazing view point of the bay of Naples. We enjoyed our stay and hope to return one day soon.
The hotel is situated down a one way street but don't let that put you off. The hotel is clean, well decorated, but some of the rooms may be a bit dated. Our room was not particularly good so they changed us to another, much better and bigger. The staff are so helpful. The meals are 4 courses, which I wasn't expecting, so good and the choice is excellent, including vegetarian. It has a daily shuttle bus service into Sorrento, entertainment every evening. The restaurant staff are the best especially Angelo, who is the head waiter, he can't do enough to make sure everything is what you want, if not he will go out of his way to do another meal that you prefer. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Excellent location with only about a 30 min walk into Sorrento although the hotel offers a regular shuttle bus service during the day and evening. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and there is an ample hot and cold buffet breakfast with a 4 course evening meal which should cater for everyone's tastes enhanced by excellent service and a warm welcome every day by Angelo its Maître De. The staff throughout the hotel ensure that your stay is a pleasurable experience providing a lasting memory of an enjoyable stay.
We spent a week half board at the Hotel Caravel bringing our Italian adventure to an end. It was the perfect place to unwind after the manic time we'd had prior to arriving.
Located in Sant Agnello the hotel is about 20 minutes walk from the heart of Sorrento itself. If you don't fancy the walk the hotel provides a free shuttlebus to the main parking area every 30 minutes from 0900 and that operates for most of the day. Five minutes straight down the road take you to a fantastic viewpoint whene you can get some great pictures of Sorrento Bay and the sunsets.
We had a lovely room on the first floor with plenty of space and a good sized bathroom. It was quite light and airy with a comfortable large double bed, TV, minibar and a free safe. There was plenty of storage and hanging space and it was very clean. There were tea and coffee making facilites although we never used them. Deliberate or not, when you entered the room and turned on the power the TV came on and was on CNN in English which I thought was a nice touch. (Wifey however felt it was an annoyance as she's not a telly addict when we are away)
There was a good shower in the bathroom with both a spray and monsoon head both of which had good flow pressure. Obviously a toilet and bidet and a sink with a large mirror in front of it.
Breakfast was plentiful with a huge variety of cereals, continental and hot options. Coffee and tea are served to the table by the lovely staff who go out of their way to be as helpful as possible. Note - the coffee is proper wake up juice, you may need to add a little water if you are not so keen on the strong stuff.
Dinner is quite simply excellent. Four courses every night (if you can manage four) with a number of different options for each course. In terms of first and second plates there were no repeated dishes at all during our week there. My only disappointment was somehow I missed out on a Tiramisu. A special mention here to Angelo who was the restaurant manager and exuded charm and style, whilst all the time keeping a careful watch on everything going on. All the staff were great.
The bar is reasonably priced and there was an entertainer every night barring Sunday. The entertainers were all pretty good and not too loud either. there is a nice terrace area around the pool and two seperate roof terraces with sunbeds and a hotline to order those all important drinks. The pool itself was never that busy but was not heated. Being a bit of a wuss it took a while to get in and things definitely shrunk because of the cold! ;-)
All in all this is a great hotel in a nice location without being in the heart if the action. The staff are all very good, polite and helpful. I'd happily stay here again if we are even back in the area.
Fantastic hospitality from all staff at this hotel from the moment we arrived,
Special mention goes to Angelo and his wonderful restaurant staff who work tirelessly making sure everything is ok, also time to chat when not busy, breakfast was usually buffet style and dinner was plentiful, a 4 course meal with waiter service,
The entire hotel is kept spotlessly clean by the maids and maintenance staff,
For us the location was perfect as we don’t like to be in the resort centres,
A pleasant 20 min walk takes you to the main square , alternatively book the free shuttle , this takes just 5mins !
For anyone thinking of booking this hotel, you certainly won’t be disappointed,
We would have no hesitation in rebooking here should we return in the future,
Many thanks
Jane and Simon
We visited this lovely hotel for two weeks from 26th September, which was an excellent choice. The hotel has everything to make your stay memorable.
The hotel is in a good location, providing a free shuttle bus to Sorrento if required but was close enough to walk in - which we did several times.
Everywhere was clean and well maintained. The food was very good with plenty of choice from the 4 course menu.
All the staff were friendly and helpful with special mention to Angelo and his staff for their excellent service at all times.
We would definitely recommend this hotel and if we visit Sorrento in the future this would be our first choice.
Közel volt a tengerpart sétálva, a reggeliztető személyzet kedve.
A szállás régi, felújításra szorulna. Sok helyen épületen belül cigaretta szag van. A reggeli sablonos, kicsi választékkal. Az erkély nagyon kicsi.
Lovely hotel . Excellent helpful staff , food very good . Buffet breakfast , 4 course waiter served dinner . Food was fresh and hot at dinner . Only 1 criticism , coffee at breakfast undrinkable . Good small pool , with plenty of sunbeds. Added bonus was free daily shuttle service .
We had a fabulous stay at Hotel Caravel in Sant’Agnello and would definitely return. The staff were welcoming and there are too many to mention by name, suffice to say, Angeleno, Nino, Rhino and Marie.
The food was delicious, a choice of starters and then choices for two main courses and then dessert, with options of cheese & biscuits or ice cream every night. Pasta of course dominated the first main dish options with fish and meat for the second main dish. Breakfast was buffet style with plenty of choice, fresh fruit, breads, cakes, bacon, eggs and mushrooms.
The free shuttle into Sorrento was another great offer; running regularly throughout the day. You can book it the day before or on the day at reception for both trips into Sorrento and back to the hotel.
There are two supermarkets in the town about 10mins walk, as well as shops and bars. The pavements are very narrow and the main road up from the hotel is busy.
The beach club is about 10mins walk down from the hotel, and the walk is steep. The beach club is the only access to the beach so you do need to pay for sun beds but it’s worth a visit. On the way down there is the Sea Bar offering light refreshments and drinks, which we loved for a quiet lunchtime panini and drinks. We found a similar situation in Sorrento with access to the beach via beach clubs only. Sorrento is a lovely place to explore.
