Price was decent and room was clean
Front desk staff was rude and not helpful
Only the view
Everything, it looked gross and pictures really need to be updated, looked like things were falling apart
The location is awesome
The bed was very uncomfortable, we had the jetted tub in the room but it didn't work very well and the breakfast was not what it used to be
On the positive side, we liked the room, the beautiful view of the river from the window, and the beach area. The room itself was clean.
Overall, the location and room had some good points, but the service at the front desk and the breakfast experience really need improvement.
Unfortunately, this stay was disappointing. The main issue was the front desk service. The staff member at check-in was not welcoming and not very helpful. It felt as if guests were more of an inconvenience than welcome visitors.
The breakfast was also very poor. Some basic items were missing, and the food did not seem well prepared. Another uncomfortable point was that dogs were allowed into the dining/breakfast area, which did not feel appropriate.
The closeness to the ocean.
When my went out to with our dogs she went out a door that wasn't labeled not to use, so consequently was locked out. When she call the booking number the phone just rang. So when I talked to the front desk (Jeff) the person I spoke to said that it was her own fault for using the door that had no singh on.
Excellent views, Location near beach was superb. Local restaurants great within walking distance. Maids were friendly. Room clean and we appreciated new carpets and paint.
Chair and couch were old and had lost their stuffing so they were not that comfortable. New paint and carpets were a plus. Breakfast a disappointment as there was not much left at 9am when we got up. They don't replace anything when it is gone. Since height of tourist season the food should be replaced when it runs out. When we arrived at 3:30 we were told check in was at 4 pm rather than a Welcome. No one at desk when we arrived and did not come when we rang for service. Loud voices from manager's room and in work areas - sounded like arguments. One voice rather shrill. Maids in halls were extremely pleasant and friendly to customers. No one at front desk when we checked out. Outside looks as if it could use some paint. Handicapped parking was occupied by vehicles without HC tags.
Nothing other than the location
This trip was supposed to be special. My wife had never seen the Oregon coast or the ocean, so I booked this hotel because it advertised being dog-friendly, beachfront, and accommodating to service dogs. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing from the moment we arrived.Although they advertise 24/7 service, the lobby wasn't even open until 4:00 p.m., so early check-in wasn't possible. We also discovered that checkout isn't available before 7:00 a.m., which wasn't mentioned when we booked. The biggest issue at check-in was being charged $25 per dog, per night, for our legitimate service dogs. I was told I needed paperwork to avoid the fee, even though service dog documentation is not required under the ADA. After several discussions, they agreed to refund part of the fee, but not the full amount. The room itself wasn't terrible, but it was clearly worn. One sink was broken, the upstairs window wouldn't lock properly, and there was no air conditioning. Opening the windows helped cool the room, but it also let in cigarette and marijuana smoke from people smoking below our balcony. The complimentary breakfast was one of the worst I've experienced. It consisted mainly of bagels, waffles, cereal, fruit, and juice. There were no eggs, bacon, sausage, yogurt, or other protein options. The most serious problem was the fire alarm. It went off around 11:15 p.m. and again around 3:00 a.m., leaving us with almost no sleep. We later learned management already knew the alarm system had been malfunctioning from the previous night, but did not warn guests. Another guest reportedly fell while evacuating and suffered a broken collarbone. When I spoke with management the following afternoon, the only compensation initially offered was a 20% refund for one night's stay. While they later agreed to refund part of the service dog fees, I felt the response did not match the seriousness of the issues we experienced.
The view from the view was nice
The cleanliness of the room and general area could have been better. In the middle of the night a loud alarm like noise went off multiple times and was ear piercing and were told we were hearing things
The view is amazing and the best part of the room choice. Almost immediate access to the beach is also a plus.
The room was very dirty when I arrived. There was popcorn and crumbs on the floor and the screen door handle was broken. My microwave didn’t work even after unplugging and plugging it back into the wall as I was told to do. The parking is tight, so you need to claim a spot early.
Not a thing.
We worked a 13 hr day at the coast and wanted to get to the hotel get showered and go to bed for the 12 hr next day.
nobody was at the office when we arrived, which was not communicated in the listing well whatsoever. We stayed on hold for 30 minutes with the OVO customer service Team before her transferring me around three times just to be hung up on no numbers provided for after our service went through to anybody eventually we just gave up and got another hotel down the street because we weren't going to wait there all night when we showed up there were two other people that have been locked out of their room with both of their phones and everything inside, they were stuck in the cold as there was no way to get back into the building once the door shut. Overall, this was a horrible experience and an absolute waste of $90 since we didn't even get to step foot into the room we paid for. As a small business owner traveling for work this affects my bottom line as I need to put up multiple people in rooms often and showing up to a hotel at 10:30. That is completely unstaffed on a busy summer weekend in a tourist location is unacceptable.
