We booked this hotel for a concert in December! We arrived the day of the show and the hotel was closed and boarded up yet no one bothered to call, email, or text. Disgusting. I already paid for the room so I had to be on the phone several times to get
my money back.
Property is permanently closed.
Revisited after 30 years and other than the name change, everything is exactly the same. There were mildew stains on the curtains in the room, that seemingly has been there for some time without improvement or change.
Per Expedia's request, here is the revised review: When we arrived, we were told the hotel was permanently closed, but neither Expedia nor the hotel ever notified us. No refund was given either.
I booked the room in July on Hotels.com and when I arrived on October 6 for my stay the hotel had been closed permanently since October 3. I was never contacted by anyone and Hotels.com refuses to refund my money even though the Crowne Plaza is not in business any longer. I have been totally ripped off.
I would love to tell you how the inside of the property was, but we never made it that far. We showed up to a notice on the door saying they had closed their doors due to asbestos 4 days prior. We never received a phone call or email telling us this information. They left us high and dry with no where to stay on a concert night, scrounging to find a place to stay at 3pm with most hotels sold out. It was very unprofessional and inconsiderate. For this reason I will never book here again.
We had reservations since December for the pink concert. When we arrived was told they closed permanently 3 days prior. No one notified us! Pink concert was that night and no room! Horrible experience! Expedia then wanted to charge ME a $150 cancellation fee! That definitely won’t be happening!
Greeted by a security team brought in from NYC stating the hotel was shut down a few days ago and we could not stay here.
No contact from management to give us a heads up to find an alternative hotel
Communication should have been sent to all reservation holders of closure so alternative reservations could have been made prior to checkin day.
We showed up to check in for our stay to find that the hotel permanently closed a few days before without any notification. Worst experience!
We went to check in to the hotel and it had permanently closed. Zero communication was made to inform us of this. Pretty unfortunate especially when all other hotels were sold out for a concert. I will be reaching out to get my money refunded since I had paid in advance.
Sketch! There was some, um, let’s say “shady activity” going on in the lobby, especially by the back door that goes to the parking. The elevators face that back door, hidden to the front desk. So whoever wants can co and go. Other wise, dirty, uncomfortable beds, and honestly, kind of spooky. Never again.
Close to school, in downtown (able to walk to restaurants) Paid parking garage. Hotel is old but was clean, desk people very helpful.
Our stay was excellent, yet when we arrived to our rooms we didn't have hangers, or press iron, and it seems that they clean it quickly because we found an event ID in one of our bed sides, yet the rest of the stay was excellent. Staff was excellent, and responded quickly to our needs. Overall our stay was good.
Rather expensive for what you get but safe, clean and quiet with good parking options. Bath / shower very small and cramped which was a surprise.
Somehow. a couple was given the same. room and came in with a key at 11pm when were. wee sleeping - we woke up and the people were as surprised as we were. our keys didnt work after. this either so it must have been double booked but going down and talking to the front desk was beyond unhelpful. besides this scare the hotel is totally dated and not clean
They charge you a $50.00 incidental fee when you check in which I was not given a receipt for it or a receipt that it was returned when I checked out.
Hotel is dirty and run down. The flies were at the ice maker the first room I had the toilet handle had to be held down to flush. The shower was dirty. The air conditioning did not cool the room. I switched rooms the 2nd room was just a tad better. The dining was closed. The bar area was uninviting and the only place to get food at 9pm on a Friday night. While eating a cheeseburger the flies were a real turn off. I could not walk around to get to a restaurant as the neighborhood is dangerous.
I would not stay again.
Room was not ready at 530pm
Should have been ready by 4
After driving 6h I cancelled and went to a hilton
Check in was chaos. They gave us the wrong type of room (that did not fit our party) and after 30 mins of staring at a computer she said I don’t have another room you can cancel and get your money back. But at 930pm that wasn’t an option. So I stood there and she gave me the proper room.
Hotel was next to the highway (not great) and the blackout shades did not close all the way.
Toilet would not flush and we were told there is no one to fix it until after 9am.
No blackout blind in room and road noise was an issue. Front desk staff had little to no knowledge of immediate area and could not provide directions to nearby pharmacy or restaurants. No room service provided on our second day. No towels at front desk. Had to wait for an employee to go to laundry for more. Homeless people accessed rear lobby and wandered thru hotel. One even knocked on our door asking for beer and cigarettes. Expected far more for the price.
