Excellent dining experience at the restaurant in Savoy Hotel Ooty. The food was delicious, service was very professional, and the ambiance was warm and welcoming. Special thanks to Santosh for the attentive and friendly service. Highly recommended!
Tutto. Il livello è molto alto e in linea con il prezzo.
Camera molto bella e curata, servizi top, personale super.
Ristorante vario e cibo buono, ambiente molto rilassante e fuori dal caos cittadino ma comunque vicini al centro.
Niente.
Service, location
Lovely location, service, experience
We stayed for 3 nights in early Feb. The hotel grounds are lovely, well kempt and relaxing. The hotel is in a good location, about 5 mins from the centre where the main shops and restaurants are located.
We booked a bungalow that didn’t have a garden view. The room was oldie worldie with small windows and sun room at the front. Unfortunately, it didn’t get the sun late in the afternoon or evening due to the tall trees in front. We would recommend paying a little extra for a garden view so you can enjoy the sun outside your room. The room had a fireplace and the staff will light it for you after 7pm which made the room cosy. It does get a bit chilly in the hills due to the altitude so would recommend taking a warm jumper or jacket.
Service at the hotel was good and staff very helpful and friendly. They arranged our onwards transfer to Kochi and kindly made us a packed breakfast for the journey which was a 7hr drive. It worked out around £120. Which we thought wasn’t bad considering the distance. The hotel also provided us with a driver for a half day tour to see the local sites.
The food was of a good standard, we had breakfast, lunch and dinner here on a couple of nights. The breakfast choices were a bit more limited than some of the other hotels we stayed at. You did get a choice or cereals, fruit and pastries, as well as a choice of eggs cooked how you wish. This was included in our room rate.
We discovered a nice restaurant called The Periodic Table which is 5mins Tuk Tuk ride away, there is a nice cafe next door too (Le Cafe) and small supermarket in the same location. There isn’t much going on in Ooty in the evenings and we had drinks on two nights at the hotel bar. There is snooker table, but they have pool balls rather than snooker balls. Annoyingly the table wasn’t level so you couldn’t really play a proper game. It would be good if the hotel could sort this out as it is a nice feature for guests, but a bit of a waste of time if you can’t play a proper game on it.
My wife attended and enjoyed the yoga class on two mornings at 6:30am with the local yoga teacher who was a lovely old guy. He was 80yrs old and fit as a fiddle!
We would recommend the hotel and stay again.
We had a beautiful stay at the Savoy Hotel in Ooty. The welcome was absolutely warm and inviting with the eucalyptus garlands and hot ginger tea. Each and every staff that attended to us was super, kind and caring. An old hotel that is beautifully maintained. I loved the experience of having your fireplace in the room lit every night. The laundry service was excellent. The Porter was excellent. The dining service was. Housekeeping was excellent. The stay was peaceful and tranquil. Will highly recommend to family friends and others. When we come back to Ooty it will be the Savoy and no other. Thank you so a wonderful stay.
This was an opportunity to go down memory lane when I last visited the Savoy in 1970! We has a meal for my wife and two friens. A special mention of the friendly and efficient service from RAJ KUMAR,who went out of his way to make the meal special for us all.
Raj Kumar Couldn't help enough engaged with us and made us welcome

A big THANK YOU
Very nice resort, lots of activities to do for little kids. My 8 year old enjoyed riding the pony, riding the bikes, feeding the bunnies etc. My parents loved the place for its historical charm. Overall, a very relaxing and enjoyable stay.
We went during the peak season - during Christmas/New Year’s, so the staff was overwhelmed and service was slow at multiple occasions. This was still unexpected, given the cost of the stay.
Savoy – IHCL SeleQtions is more than just a place to stay—it’s an experience. Perfect for those who appreciate heritage, tranquility, and understated luxury, it remains one of Ooty’s finest and most memorable hotels. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
