I shouldn't have to pay full price when all the amenities in the hotel are under construction
Pros:

It's a great location. It was clean and a nice room.

Cons:

All the amenities were under construction, but they still charged me full price.

The garage was under construction. The drink machine was broken, and the restaurant was under construction, and the deck by the river was under construction. None of this was mentioned to me when I was booking this and paying full price.

OMG what an Odd place.
Pros:

I wish someone local had of given me the heads up that this hotel is just awful. It really is odd and cringe. Sorry to be so brutal but here are the facts:
The reception area is bad taste decor, plastic wallpaper to look like saloon or cowboy country. Eeek. They charge an exorbitant daily car parking rate but certainly no valet. No one to help with luggage. The room is odd, not clean, badly set out and just silly. Half the bathroom is in the hallway. The hand soap is probably the worst quality hand soap I have ever experienced. There is 0% soundproofing. The microwave is right beside the bed. There is a microwave but no plates, bowls or cutlery. The air conditioning is uncomfortably old fashioned. There was animal hair all over the chairs. There was hairs (certainly not mine) on the shower wall for 4 days, despite asking 3 times for the room to be cleaned properly. There was sewage smell frequently in the room. The mattress wasn’t particularly comfortable. The internet didn’t work. Room service burger and no cutlery or ketchup. The renovation is disruptive. The room rates are far overpriced for the style and offer. Really I can’t find anything positive to say about this hotel. I have got no idea how it is getting some positive ratings, there is something going on there. Maybe the downtown location is ok.

Pros:

Location. Out suite was great. Large. Good space.

Cons:

Breakfast was pretty low end. At least they could have had good baked goods.
Understandably since there were renovations, there was plastic on floors in halls and such, but staff did their best to mitigate issues for guests.

Should have shopped around
Pros:

This is a great location and I have stayed here many times, however this time it was way more expensive than in tge past and had to pay for parking. The hotel is being renovated and was noisy. The restaurant was partially closed and breakfast was very minimal. I should have shopped around more as other hotels close were quite a bit less per night. They should offer a discounted price while under renovation.

Excellent stay! Booking again for next year.
Pros:

We had a fantastic stay at the Golden Hotel in Golden, CO! Even though the hotel was undertaking some renovations, the owners made every effort to make sure all services were available. The staff was helpful and friendly; the food from Bridgewater Grill was excellent. Getting ready to make my reservation for next year's Goldens in Golden reservation early next month!

Currently undergoing renos and wish we knew
Pros:

The lounge bar was good and even with renos the staff were fantastic.

Cons:

They are undergoing renovations. I wish we knew as I probably would not have stayed due to noise and incoivenience. Breakfast was milk and packet cereal to eat in the lobby. Not impressive. Lounge and sitting area shut by 8pm so when i brought my friends back to have a drink we couldn't and had to sit awkardly in the lobby thats not set up to socialise.
