Not suitable for usual swim wear, cover up!
Pros:

I took my daughter (18) and my son (16), we turned up check in and the within an hr waned out.
My daughter (blond and blue eyes, very pretty) was being steered at terribly, the place was not clean, two pools closed, terrible.
Do not go there and expect to have a 5 star experience, it’s just not and it also is a locals hotel, meaning that most people were in full body swimming costumes, which is absolutely fine, but not when they stare at kids like they are meat.

Please read... Don't book
Pros:

Please read this review
Having stayed at many resorts and hotels i can confirm this has been my worst experience ever.
On arrival late at night all seemed OK
Superior rooms as requested appeared as in the photos..
All downhill from there
Many small defects appeared in rooms, poorly fitted lights, missing bulb, smell from one of the drains, leaking sink, shower disconnected regularly from head. I know these are all minor & we could of ignored them.
Towels are taken from the room at breakfast time and not returned until late afternoon.
Food
Repeatedly cold, very repetitive, tables not made up, dirty, the hunt for salt & pepper, cutlery.
Eggs & omelette in the morning were lovely as were the rolls & pastries.
The plastic plates and constantly running out of wine & glasses made the dining experience at lunch & dinner definitely not a 5* experience.
Wine was only served at mealtimes at the restaurant not the snack bar where you had to go if you required anything else. Coffee machines only available during breakfast.
Snack Bar
Is NOT a snack bar. No food served, unless you want to buy premium ice cream. Constant lack of glasses, drinks, ingredients, coffee, dirty tables most of the time. An ashtray infrequently you are handed a paper cup with water at the bottom.
Pool area
Always appeared clean, very loud music at most times, not very relaxing.
Overall this hotel appears very low on trained efficient staff that care about their guests.
Situation is too far out of Marrakesh for any of the viator or get your guide trips, you need to arrange your own transport to pick up points.
Will definitely not be returning

Hotel looks lovely, should be lovely. Management non existent
Pros:

Just read Williams review. Think he hit the nail on the head. No luck complaining in the hotel and the same with Thomas Cook.
My last WhatsApp message from Thomas cook.
I can assure you that this matter is being followed up daily for you. I'm sorry it is taking so ling, however as we are an online travel agent, we do not have direct contreacts with the hotels, therefore we have to go through the supplier woh in turns reaches out to the hotel

Palace or Pit!
Pros:

The word Palace is def misused in the name!
Although it looks a great place the reality is it could be if the staff were either at worst trained in customer service or even better just replaced with people who give a damn n don’t look at you with a blank face when you complain, but I suppose with the number of complaints my party made and there were 50 of us along with the other customers it’s not surprising they just shut off and ignore, even when your fully inclusive, they still try and get you to pay for anything asked for and that’s limited as most things from glass of wine to a coffee are run out or waiting for delivery!!!

Holiday of a lifetime
Pros:

We arrived about 9.30pm and as soon as we got to reception we were greeted like royalty, our bags were taken straight to our room and we were taken straight to dinner as we only had half and hour left, they knew we had just had a long journey and wanted us to make sure we ate.
Our suite was amazing with views of the pool and snack bar, the biggest bed i have ever seen and our bathroom had a bath with a shower over and also a toilet and another cubicle shower. There was then another toilet off of the lounge area.
The next morning we decided to go for a sunbathe around the pool, plenty of loungers to choose from so we took our pick. We were then greeted by the entertainment team who explained there was aqua aerobics, dance lessons near the pool , water polo and entertainment in the evening. The is also a music booth near the pool that plays a mix of music all through the day!
The range of food for breakfast, lunch and dinner was amazing, traditional moroccan cuisine and also pizza, chips, nugget, pastas etc for those who are not adventurous when it comes to trying new food, lots of desserts and delicious cocktails at the snack bar.
The staff couldn’t do enough for us and speak arabic, french and english among others so they do try to make an effort to communicate with everyone.
Around the pool area there is a small shallow pool, the bigger pool and then the area where the water slides and a smaller scale waterslides fir toddlers. The water slides were amazing but beware of the smaller slides, they don’t look much but wow they go very fast hahaa!
The evening entertainment was varied and the amazing entertainment team were so friendly and made us feel very welcome. They also speak a range of languages so everyone can enjoy the entertainment, we saw trational moroccan performances, dances, quizzes, and they do their best to get everyone up and participating. We had the best time with these guys, they all work so hard all day from morning until night to make all the guests feel welcome and looked after, We got to know them well and they became our moroccan family, when it came to saying goodbye it was very emotional as they had made our holiday what it was, very fun! Mouss, Sam and Billy deserve recognition as they were always on top performance and looked out for my daughter when she wasnt feeling very well, checking up on her and asking if she was feeling better everyday.
Everyone in the hotel from the cleaners, waiters, bar staff, reception staff, gardeners went above and beyond to make our holiday one i will never forget, they treated us like royalty and for that a huge thank you!!!!

A Trip to Remember <3
Pros:

Stayed for a week all inclusive with my mum and little sister in a junior suite and what a week to remember! A gorgeous hotel located not far from Marrakech (about 25 min drive, if that) so the journey from Marrakech airport was easy.
All the staff made us feel like royalty the whole stay! Everyone was so friendly, polite, helpful and just all round amazing!
The pool is lovely with a range of music played all day and the water slides are so much fun!
The food was lovely, full of flavour and a range of different Moroccan dishes as well as some other simple bits like pasta, pizza, chips etc for those like my sister who are weary when trying new food. The tagine was incredible as well as the Moroccan tea available every morning. For breakfast fried eggs and omelettes were available cooked to order in front of you which was amazing and definitely a go to for me.
We noticed groundskeepers everyday attending to the grass, bushes, pools etc so the hotel and grounds were always spotless and beautiful, a really nice environment to be in.
All the bar staff and waiters were also all super friendly and helpful and always had a big smile on their faces which was lovely to see everyday.

A special shoutout to The entertainment team who made this trip so so special for us! Mouss, Sam and Billy were all so friendly, funny and the sweetest most amazing guys! They took the time to speak to us everyday making us feel so welcome and part of the family from day 1. They made sure to try and get everyone involved with their activities throughout the day, everyday including water aerobics, dance classes, water polo and even the water slides! (Probably more I may be forgetting) We took part in most of these and it was good fun and things we’d never done before which was nice. This trip wouldn’t have been as special as it was without them we cannot thank them enough for all their kindness, respect and generosity and we even got emotional leaving them behind because by the end of the trip they really meant something special to us for making us feel like royalty our whole holiday! They went above and beyond, even helping with getting my sister medication as she was very unwell with tonsillitis and it helped her make a full recovery quickly so she was able to enjoy her trip, so thank you! We will really miss them all, leaving was like leaving our best friends and family behind :(
We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and we can’t thank everyone at Olivar Palace enough for making our first trip to Morocco so beautiful and special!
We have already discussed returning again, highly recommend, very reasonably priced too!

Don't book this hotel! Rude reception staff and not a 5 star hotel.
Pros:

The female receptionists at this hotel are extremely rude and really ruined the start of our hotel. Not even a hello or welcome, just asked us for our passports and didn't smile once.

This hotel is far from 5 star, my friend actually got food poisoning from eating the meat at lunch on our first day as the food is not kept heated properly. They dont even bother to label all the food, so if you have allergies you have no chance.

If you want a drink with your meal in the restaurant you have to get up from your table and walk over to the snack bar queue and order.

The sun loungers are filthy and not even a table to put our drinks on.

All plates and cups are plastic, not what you would expect from a 5 star hotel and the towels in our rooms had holes in them.

The only saving grace was that we liked our room, still not 5 star standard but it was clean and comfortable. Other than that we would never return to this hotel again.

The hotel is also very far out from the centre of Marrakech, so we were reliant on taxi's as when we tried to book onto the shuttle ot was fully booked as you can only book the day before and there are very limited spaces.

Never again, we couldn't wait to leave!

Loved my holiday here
Pros:

My friend and I stayed here 01-05th September for 5 nights, that was just not long enough! The staff are amazing, they all speak English, the hotel rooms and facilities (of which there are many) are constantly cleaned. The snack bar serves drinks all day including alcohol. The restaurant AI food is delicious, well presented, plentiful and something for everyone. Free shuttle bus to the souk morning and afternoon. Thank you to all the staff for making my holiday special and very relaxing. Also a traditional style to the hotel with Moroccan aspects which were very interesting to experience.

Pros:

This hotel is definitely not a palace , nor a 5 stars.
Even if the staff is welcoming (one of the women who was serving eggs for breakfast was not at all) the building is old, the carpets are dirty, some parts of the buildings are not clean at all.
The inside pool was not open and it was not mentioned when I book the stay. The snacks and a large part of the buffet is made only was very simple ingredients and dishes. The dessert part offer is only small bits of cake and ice cream are not quality. The best moment was the breakfast with the omelette side. The donut/ sfeng side for snack was good.

A Perfect Family Getaway – Truly Feels Like a Palace!
Pros:

We absolutely loved our stay at El Olivar Palace in Marrakesh! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the grandeur and beauty of the resort. The rooms are incredibly spacious—truly fit for a palace—and immaculately clean. Every detail is thoughtfully designed to ensure comfort and relaxation.

It’s a very kid-friendly place, which made our stay stress-free and enjoyable as a family. The water slides are a huge hit with the children—they were entertained for hours! There’s also plenty of open space for kids to run around safely.

The staff were one of the highlights of our stay—extremely polite, warm, and always eager to help. Their friendly nature made us feel genuinely welcome throughout our visit.

The food options were excellent, with a wide variety of fresh and delicious dishes to suit every taste. Whether you’re looking for local Moroccan flavors or international cuisine, there’s something for everyone.

Another big plus is the resort’s location—just a short drive from the airport, which is perfect after a long journey.

The gardens and outdoor areas are beautifully maintained, creating a peaceful and relaxing environment. The pool area is also stunning, with plenty of loungers and shaded spots to unwind.

Altogether, El Olivar Palace exceeded our expectations in every way. We’re already looking forward to coming back again. Highly recommended for families, couples, or anyone looking for a relaxing escape in Marrakesh!

Great Holiday Experience
Pros:

I never usually write reviews, but I felt I had to share how wonderful our experience was at this hotel in Marrakech. From the moment we arrived, the service was prompt and welcoming. Reception staff were polite and made us feel at home straight away.

Sara from customer relations was especially accommodating and made sure everything was perfect throughout our stay. The hotel itself is beautiful and truly gives you those relaxing holiday vibes — from the stunning pool area to the stylish surroundings.

Our room was spacious, cleaned every day, and absolutely spotless — we had no issues at all with cleanliness or comfort. Overall, the whole experience was fantastic and exceeded our expectations. Highly recommended!

Glorious!
Pros:

Lovely hotel. Clean extremely comfortable room with AC and streaming services on the TV for times when you need to get out of the heat. The pool is glorious. I had the best massage of my life in the wonderful spa. If I'd had the funds I'd have gone to the spa every day!!

The staff are really helpful. It's a really chilled and peaceful vibe. I'd highly recommend. If I had one suggestion it would be around accommodating plant based/vegan/vegetarian guests. If there had been houmous on the breakfast buffet I'd probably never have left!

Disregard the negative reviews. This is a stunning sanctuary slightly out of the hussle and bustle of Marrakech. It seems to attract really mellow guests so it was great not being surrounded by noisy drunk holiday makers.

I can't thank the staff enough for making our stay so glorious.

Good experience
Pros:

The stay was nice. It was especially made better with the hard work and attention to detail of Youssef S. who works at the snack bar at the hotel. We thank him very much for doing everything to make us feel welcomed and tended to. He was not the only one but he was the one who stood out most with his excellent service.

The Moroccan Dream
Pros:

Before coming here I had read a few reviews previously that made me a little anxious as what to expect. However, it was the complete opposite and as someone quite rightly said the “Karen reviews”.

We were greeted warmly at the reception by Sara who identified herself as the point of contact for any issues or customer liaison. The friendly reception with another member of staff taking our belongings and showing us to our room was a great start after a long day of travel. We were given an itinerary of meal times, etc.

The food throughout my stay was really good, my special highlight was the BBQ at lunch and dinner. My wife, who by her own admission is a fussy eater, managed to eat every day and enjoyed it. Our service by Acharaf who was there for most of our meal times was nothing short of exceptional, especially when he knew my fondness of the BBQ, bringing over a full plate of the best bits.

We found the hotel to have a very relaxing atmosphere by the pool with a good mix of nationalities, the main being French, Moroccan and British. The snack bar was always fully stocked with refreshments and we had zero issues getting a drink (the beer “Stork” was really good and my wife enjoyed the white wine) and we were also brought meats, cheese and olives as little light bites while we were relaxing by the pool. Youssef, Mehdi and a lady (whose name I didn’t catch but she worked in the lounge bar as well) ensured we never went without.

The evening entertainment was a huge highlight with Mehdi (a second mehdi but not sure of the spelling). This guy is probably one of the most talented linguists I have ever come across. He spoke fluent Arabic, French and English which helped the different nationalities mingle while we played games in the evening. On one of the nights, an Italian family had just arrived and he managed to get them to join in, in perfect Italian. Is there a language this man doesn’t know!? He was an absolute credit to the hotel. The hotel entertainment team were always about during the day getting us to play games by the pool such as darts, bowls, table tennis, etc. They were all great guys as well and were there in the evening to help with the entertainment.

We did the free shuttle bus to Marrakech one on of the days and it was extremely straight forward and spent a few hours at Jemma el-Fnaa markets which was an experience in itself to say the least. We did however manage to buy some lovely things but when it got too much we retired to the sky bar to get away from the crowds which had some breathtaking views.

There are so many positive things I could say about this hotel and after talking to other holiday makers there, they were all made up with the hotel and having a really good time.

Oh, and at the end while we were waiting for our transfer to the airport, nobody cut off our all-inclusive wristbands and we were allowed to continue enjoying the bar until we left. We were even able to take some water with us which was needed in the heat.

I would like to thank El Olivar Palace for a wonderful stay and those whose names I have mentioned above. I can’t wait to come back!
