I’ve been a member at Village Gym for about 2 years it’s great.
Kathy in the gym is always super useful, I would recommend getting a membership here.
Location and the facilities in the hotel
The air conditioning in the room didn’t work and it was like a sweat box. The car park was half shut off because they are having an extension but no mention of this when booking the room
The room was nice and clean, the bed was super comfy. The room was spacious and modern with a good size TV on the wall, would definitely stay again
I feel the lighting in the room could have been better as it was just right above the bed making it really bright in that space but not really anywhere else in the room, there wasn't a mirror above the table with the chair so getting ready was a little awkward if you are getting ready to go out into the local town centre of even downstairs at the hotel bar. There was no vending machine with a variety of drinks in for those who may be coming back late and wanting a soft drink/water to take up to their room
I've had stayed a few times at the village Warrington, its never been the cleanest and the carpets / furniture was always marked. But never enough to make me not stay as it's convenient when I need it.
However the room I stayed this time was a lot better, been freshly painted new carpet and clean. Miles better than previously.
I stayed with my children this time and the room was a great size!
Still some areas there are alot of marks, staff are always just ok. However still alot better than previously.
Usually I like Village hotels. Good facilities, nice rooms and this room was OK.
But Village hotels all suffer from the same problem. Large hotels, tiny lifts. Not enough parking, noisy bars.
This was not the best Village I've stayed in. It's having an extension built so over half the car park is unavailable. With gym goers and guests there were dozens of cars blocking the car park trying to find anywhere to park. I had to park on the grass verge.
Room was hot, ac did nothing. No fans. Windows were open but all I could hear was the thump of loud music from the bar.
I was so tempted to check out and drive home. I do not recommend this hotel.
Air con was poor and weather was warm
Did mention to reception
The breakfast has improved greatly, you can get freshly made eggs in addition to all the other foods now.
As always the comfort of the bed and the friendly helpful staff
Staff at the hotel are welcoming, friendly and helpful.
Food at the Bar and Grill was good.
Pool was a tad busy with Sunday morning swimmers. Jacuzzi was out of order.
The bed was extremely comfortable, but the room itself was so dark that it was difficult to dry hair and put on make up.
Frosted glass windows, with a wall for a ‘view’. Windows didn’t open far at all, but we had to close them during the night because of the noise coming from a compressor unit that must have been based under our room.
Would we return? Sadly not, based on our first experience.
Hotel & staff amazing. Catered for your every need
Couldn’t fault any of it
Dropped into the gym and pool/hot tub after a Hyrox event held at the Village which was also brilliant. Great facilities, particularly liked the ice bath for recovery. Kathy was super helpful and friendly on reception!
Location was good and the staff were helpful and understanding.
We chose the hotel because of the air conditioned rooms. On one of the hotter days of the year there was no air con! It hadn’t worked for some time in any of the rooms. The room was unbearably hot and no sleep was had! We have an electric car. When we arrived it seemed all the many charging station were in use. But only a few of the spaces had electric cars in, and those that were electric were not charging. The whole car park was full and we were still charged £7.50 for parking!
I liked the location
Too many people in and out.just using the gym
beds comfy
Charged for parking changed from previous stay and not mentioned in booking. Car park restricted. Breakfast poor
