We booked a family room for us and our two young children. On arrival, the room was really hot and stuffy, even after we’d turned the radiator and towel rail off. The window only opened from the bottom, making it unsafe to have open with two small children and a dog and in general, the room wasn’t particularly comfortable, with hard beds and high, lumpy pillows. Breakfast was also mediocre at best and not good value for money and some of the staff members weren’t particularly friendly or professional either. Overall, although not terrible, the hotel is in need of some updating and refurbishment, with more care and attention to detail needed.
Spa treatment was closed and no new why after asking 3 people and no one had a clue why thats why we cam there
Very disappointing
The hotel was plush..true victorian luxury, the bed was so comfortable the breakfast was beautiful..plenty of choice, the price was spot on for the room..would of liked a bath but that's just me we will definitely stay again x
£5 parking.
It was clean
The evening meal .was like a school dinner so only ate there once for evening meal
The location of the hotel is excellent. The fact that some rooms are dog friendly is also great
The rooms were extremely warm, despite turning all radiators off. No fridge in the room to keep drinks cool. You had to pay for everything as extras. Breakfast was not included. Spa access was not included.
I booked a 2 night stay and I. The 2nd evening after a full day out returned to the room not able to gain access, the keyfob had stopped working and there were people inside. The room had been allocated to someone else! The front desk person did rectify this quicky and provided a voucher for a bottle of wine for the mix up, by nevertheless it was disconcerting to return to your room, be locked out and find other people inside!
Wonderful architecture
Bedroom good bathroom shabby room 112. Breakfast should be included
Good customer service good accomodation. Comfortable room and friendly staff.
The location was great. Very central.
The room. It felt like we were put in the ‘servants quarters’. Room 161. Right at the back of the hotel. It was very small. Bed was uncomfortable, 2 single beds pushed together. There was a generator outside our window that was constant all night. We had no sleep at all. Very very disappointed.
Fantastic
Accessible issues.I have a mobility problem, too complex to state.
However, I chose to give a swim @ 6 30am.. There are no lower ground disabled changing areas& toilet? Im aware the Palace is Victorian but with a bit of imagination, utililise the space you do have. Convert the chemical storage under the to a disabled toilet/changing facility, & store the chemicals possibly in the room you have in the pool area.
There should be a ramp for disabled people to access the sauna/steam room & shower facilities. All showers appears appear to be on a next level which isn't acceptable 🤔
Clear signage when I tried to exit the facilities I couldbt easily, i finally realised it was the 🚪 door
marked Emergency Exit. Suggestion put another sign marked WAY OUT
Sorry im in no way having a go, just some constructive criticism.
Im new to being disabled & im very conscious of the need for buildings no matter what should install REASONABLE ADJUSTMENTS. It's not imagination but accessibility, safe, secure & helpful are what we need despite the constraints.
Comfortable room and friendly staff.
