Faded grandeur
Pros:

Grand entrance interior with Victorian grandeur and HUNDREDS of chesterfield sofas dotted all over the place. My twin room was spacious and the en-suite large. I had a countryside view from the high window which was nice. When showering, however, the tray did not empty fast enough and the bathroom flooded! I was told this needed major pipe work and I could change rooms. To avoid the hassle I chose to stay put and shower quickly and intermittently to minimise the flood. They must have known there was a problem with the shower but I bet they still let out this room (309).

OK
Pros:

Bathroom - NO GRAB HANDLES FOR OVER BATH SHOWER
Breakfast - most things were cold
Bar/Lounge area - notice to say dogs not permitted in this area - yet a couple with a dog were allowed to have breakfast there.
Dog on lead but strayed into walkway and could have tripped someone up.
Very surprised NO grab handles for shower users - SAFETY ISSUE

Palace historical hotel
Pros:

Historic building. Well maintained.
Bed mattress could do with a more comfortable topper, too hard, room 312.
Staff helpful.

Cons:

Bed too hard.
Shame that use if pool etc costs extra per day.
