2 night shopping break
Pros:

This is a beautiful old hotel in a great location. Staff were lovely and rooms were spotless

Cons:

Our room 304 was dated but had everything we needed. Springs could be felt in one mattress but we were there for 2 nights so didn't mention it.

Very good overall and I would still stay there again.
Pros:

The hotel was very central and lovely inside. The room we had was very spacious and the bathroom had clearly been modernised. The breakfast was good and the wifi stable. The beds were comfy, as were the pillows (many reviews had said otherwise).

Cons:

One thing which I wasn't happy with was the noise from the plumbing system in the early hours of the morning. One day I was woken up at 3:30am and another at 4am, with a sound that I could only describe as someone drilling the road outside. Having woken up I found it was the pipes rattling under the radiator, so clearly something that wasn't localised to our room. I finally had a full night's sleep on the 3rd night, but that may be due to the overall lack of sleep or the ear plugs I used! The other minor problem we had was the plumbing in the bathroom shower, in that it didn't drain quick enough and I was left standing in a pool of water whilst having a shower. This then overflowed onto the bathroom floor, so I ended up using one of the towels each day to soak that up. That was reported but not resolved during our stay.

Great Hotel
Pros:

Fantastic location, with very helpful and friendly staff.
Very pleased with the room and the breakfast.
Enjoyed the spa very much.

Cons:

Despite the spa being very enjoyable, there are no secure lockers as all the keys are missing which was a bit disappointing.

Super hôtel
Pros:

Handy location & lovely building
Pros:

Excellent location and beautiful building.

Cons:

Information from staff wasn’t always clear. We were told we could use the swimming pool but when we got there they said it was an extra £4 each, which isn’t much but was unexpected
