Very comfortable place to stay and location makes it ways to access all major roads in the city

dirty pool water with chlorine smell literally hurting my eyes. hugely disappointing

lovely wonderful staff. room was well
maintained, but my Mother in law had a noisy neighbour whos TV she could hear all hours of the night.

Cons:

honestly we picked this hotel for the slides for the kids, and I cannot believe how filthy the water was, we could not let the swim. the smell of the chlorine was so so so strong due to the dirty water that it hurt my eyes. honestly this pool should have been closed i can’t believe so many people were swimming in filthy water. when you can smell the chlorine that strong, it’s really bad water. so the whole reason we came and paid a premium for this hotel with the pool and slides was a waste.

Never Again - Best Western Plus Port O'call Hotel
Pros:

We recently stayed at this hotel, and our experience was generally fine—until the final morning of our stay. At that point, the hotel manager on duty created an extremely uncomfortable and unpleasant situation for guests.
The manager appeared to be on a “witch hunt” regarding wristbands in the pool area. Despite the fact that we had been using the pool for two days without any issue—and were never informed by front desk staff that wristbands were required—there was zero acknowledgment of the hotel’s own lack of training or communication.
Instead of calmly resolving the issue by providing wristbands or explaining the policy, the manager chose to threaten guests with calling the police if they did not have wristbands. This response was completely unnecessary, hostile, and deeply disrespectful.
I have never been treated so poorly by a hotel manager. A situation that could have been easily and professionally resolved was handled with aggression and intimidation instead.
Based on this experience alone, I would absolutely not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Cons:

nice beds but far too high for small seniors. I asked at the front desk if there was somewhere to eat between 1 & 2pm as i had guests coming to meet us. They told me that the breakfast room served buffet until 3pm. When our guests arrived we found everything closed and were left scrambling to find somewhere. We expect to be better informed at a hotel of this calibre we were very disappointed
