Close to ferry, beach, and restaurants.
Rooms were a little run down. Suites only had 1 AC so the king size bedroom had no AC and if you left the door closed it got very hot. Not worth the amount to stay per night despite it being a Friday.
Room over looking the lake which was clean although a little dated
Free breakfast was acceptable.
Special mention for member of reception JayAnn who went out of his way to assist us greatly when our hire car developed a fault.
Also Nickeisha our cleaning lady who searched for my spectacles in our bedroom after I checked out and she succeeded in finding them behind the bed after pulling it out for me .
Staff here are very friendly and will certainly go the extra mile
Close to everything. Easily walked everywhere uptown. Easy walk to the fairy. Room was clean and we were on the bottom floor. So we could walk right out on to the beach.
One staff member was rude.
Great location to walk to ferry but motel is very rundown and dirty . Breakfast room smelled bad
The hotel is in a great location for boarding the ferry to Mackinac Island- you can walk to the ferry. It’s also very close to all the shops and restaurants in Macinaw City, again, you can walk there. The staff were friendly and helpful.
The breakfast was not very good. The pancakes were good, but the eggs were awful. We stayed for 4 nights and it was the same food each day.
Swimming pool, location
Nothing
Horrible management...don't waste money...many nicer hotels in same area.
NOTHING. For the PRICE I paid (which I believe was WAY OVER PRICED for the room I was in. For the Price I paid, I was expecting luxury accommodations. The room I had was a $150.00 OR Less NOT OVER $300.00
I stayed at a Choice motel with Awards FOUR YEARS in a row,, Including this year. And I paid UNDER $ 120.00 a night. Choice room was EXCEPTIONALLY CLEAN, BW WAS NOT had Dust on lamp shades, cob webs under lampshade, the Smell in the room was terrible, Choice was a nice scent.
BW had breakfast from 7 to 9, Choice had it from 6 to 9:30.
I wanted this trip to be memorable because I had my Niece with me and because of my age and health issues, my LAST trip to Mackinaw.
I just wrote what I DIDN'T LIKE, but to add to that, the Man at front desk was not nice, Smoked way to close to entrance.
Exceptionally great stay here. Very clean rooms, clean and well maintained grounds, hallways, buildings. Professional, friendly and caring staff from front desk to the attendant in the breakfast room. They offer a wide range of breakfast options in the morning in a bright, cheery and large room on top floor. Best motel we've stayed at in this area. It will be our first choice next time we travel here.
Location,
.
Room had plenty of space. That was the best part. Got to snuggle the bride while our many belligerent progeny quarreled on the other queen beds.
It is really hard to find a place that will take 4 unruly children.
10 at night, my oldest says, "Dad, there is a mouse next to my bed." I am like, "no way," but then it runs across the room and back. Wife was already at front desk getting something else. Told her to ask the desk for a glue trap. They were incredulous. "You must have let it in." I reply, "Nope, there is a straight up Tom and Jerry Mouse hole in the base board (which was absolutely true)." Wife suggested a fine Acme product, but none were available. We stuffed the hole with Walmart bags and went to bed. They can't hold your spaghetti sauce without ripping out, but they will stuff up a mouse hole. Went to bed without further incident.
Breakfast was OK. Pancakes were pretty good. Coffee was mediocre.
Parking was pretty tight. I got a mini van and it was tight. If you have an Electra 225 you had best abadon hope. It was full too.
