The past tourism draw card has been pulled down

the food was pretty good, the view of the habour was good, the location was great

Cons:

the harbour is being rebuilt with high rise up market units in place of all the past restaurants and shopping centre. This has made it a non tourist spot now. very disapointing.

Good as a base to explore Sydney, especially around the Darling Harbour area!
Pros:

Location is great. We stayed there 20 years ago and loved it then. It looks like nothing has been "freshened up" since though and it felt a bit neglected. Good amount of USB charging points, big bed and the last of the good views before the development in front obscures them. Restaurant food was great too!

Cons:

We remebered the feel being a higher standard last time. Things were showing signs of wear, especially where joinery corners met. Bubbled paint and sealer, expanded mdf with dodgy paint. It was just a bit too familiar, like I think the carpet down the hallway was the same, but really should be replaced with something new! It feels like the hotel is not making enough profits to update. I guess it's good prices are being kept low, and I understand the dilema of investing in upgrades, then having to charge more to recoup and pricing the average customer out of the market.

Enjoyed our stay, upgraded to harbour view. Comfortable beds and great location.
Pros:

Great location, close to the places we wanted to visit.
Room was a little small but we didn’t mind as only for sleeping. Overall happy with the room. Bed was comfortable.
The staff on the front desk were lovely. Friendly and helpful. Received an upgrade when we arrived, really appreciated that.

Cons:

The bathroom was very small and dated, could do with an update but clean.
We had the buffet breakfast. I requested poached eggs as I couldn’t eat the scrambled due to being lactose intolerance. I waited easily 20 minutes than I noticed a couple who had only just arrived to breakfast receive their eggs. Also disappointed no decaf coffee.

Nice location, but I will not recommend
Pros:

This hotel is in a great location. It is close to all transportation. The front desk is very helpful and the food was good. The reason I downgraded the hotel is that it should have been remodeled and repaired several years ago. The hall carpets had big stains, and the TV support in my room was falling apart. I was charged an added-on charge one night for "week-end dining charge on 10%" on Sunday but not Saturday. No sign explaining there was a charge. I believe I was charged the 10% because I didn't leave a tip that night due to very poor service. I had to wait 35 minutes for my bill after asking 2 different people.
Nice location, but I wouldn't recommend the hotel.
