Beautiful main building but room was in separate modern building you got to buy going outside. Room cold, as heating on a timer and couldn't adjust. Was clean, good breakfast which was fresh and every staff member said hello. Stayed as free parking and bus stop just down the hill and can get into bath for £3 in 15 mins. Stayed for dinner one night, was less impressive. A good but overpriced hotel

Due to unfortunate circumstances I had to re-schedule a booking. I spoke with Lorella who provided excellent service, explaining my options very clearly. Since my booking was through Booking.com, she actioned the date change on my behalf and talked me through the upgrade rooms, so I could arrange for my daughter to stay instead of me.
Lorella went above and beyond to ensure the arrangements were suitable for me. Additionally I paid a further £180, so the hotel gained as well

What a find ! Truly magnificent long weekend spent here at Bailbrook House with friends, the staff were so attentive, the hotel was immaculate, rooms were total understated luxury, large king size rooms, comfy beds tea/coffee, fridge with milk and water. Breakfast was amazing, the best hotel breakfast we have ever had, all cooked fresh with local produce, including healthy smoothie shots, there was a great variety a full cooked english and full continental. It was a friend’s birthday whilst we were there and they left a card a box of fudge for him in the room, totally unexpected. A shout out for Kim on reception what a lovely lady, extremely helpful nothing was too much trouble. We dined in the restaurant on the first evening again first class service with amazing food. We will definitely be back and totally recommend for a perfect local stay to Bath.

We stayed here for a social weekend with friends for a Ladies Festival.
Hotel was welcoming, comfortable and clean- understated luxury. Well equipped and comfortable rooms with tea/coffee facilities, fridge, hairdrier, iron & board. Staff were warm welcoming and professional. Special mention for Fransesca who was warm, friendly, helpful and seemed to be everywhere at once ensuring a smooth run ship and that all guests were looked after.
Food - from a lunchtime sandwich to three course dinner. Good quality, well presented, tasty and cooked to perfection.
Allergies - 3 attendees had allergies and this was handled amazingly with the people being made to feel considered, able to enjoy good food safely with confidence (not always the case with past experience at other venues)
The hotel is a good base to explore Bath and surrounding area, ample parking, on a bus route so you can park the car and forget it.
This stay was 10/10 and excellent value.

I had a lovely stay at Bailbrook House Hotel in Bath and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. The hotel itself is beautiful, with stunning grounds and a charming historic feel that really adds to the overall experience. It’s the perfect mix of classic elegance and modern comfort.

My room was spotless, well-decorated, and very comfortable, with everything I needed for a relaxing stay. The bed was especially cozy, and I appreciated the peaceful atmosphere throughout the property.

The staff were friendly, attentive, and always willing to help with any requests. From check-in to check-out, the service was smooth and professional. The food was also excellent, with a great breakfast selection.

One of the best hotels we have ever stayed in, anywhere in the World. The hotel is beautiful, clean and tastefully decorated. The staff are first rate, so friendly but incredibly professional. The rooms are large, spotlessly clean and comfortable and the food was delicious. It was my Mum's 80th Birthday and we were a group of 11. Debby did all the planning for us for the evening meal putting us in a beautiful room for the meal, all to ourselves. The table looked perfect on our arrival and we even had a sign outside the door announcing it was my Mum's celebration. She was bowled over by how much trouble had been put into making the evening, and the rest of the stay, so very special, even upgrading her room to a glorious suite overlooking Bath. I can't believe any hotel could have made this any better for her and we will be eternally grateful to this fabulous hotel and their excellent staff.

We recently celebrated our wedding at Bailbrook House Hotel in the Mansion House and honestly couldn’t have chosen a more perfect venue. The old house is full of beautiful period features and character, which created such a romantic and timeless atmosphere, and the impeccable grounds provided the most stunning backdrop for our photographs.

We stayed in the decadent John Eveleigh Suite, which made the whole experience feel even more special — it was the perfect space to relax, get ready, and soak up every moment of the day.

The attention to detail from the team was exceptional and everything ran so smoothly, allowing us to have the relaxed, stress-free wedding we’d hoped for. Lorella and Elina deserve a special mention — they went above and beyond throughout and worked seamlessly with our suppliers to make sure everything was flawless. Nothing was too much trouble, and their calm, professional approach meant we could simply enjoy ourselves.

We also had family travelling from abroad and a guest with mobility issues, and the staff took such great care to ensure everyone was comfortable and well looked after, which meant so much to us.

The food was absolutely delicious and the wine selection was fantastic — so many of our guests commented on how superb everything was.

We truly couldn’t recommend Bailbrook House more highly for a wedding or special stay. A beautiful setting, amazing staff, and an unforgettable experience from start to finish.

It was our first time to Bailbrook House to host our Christmas Party, we have been to various different venues in the past due to the fact that we have offices in Bath, Plymouth & Wales, trying to find somewhere that suits everyone and not too far to travel is really tricky! We visited Bailbrook House back in 2025 with a view to making a booking and its a beautiful place with stunning views over looking Bath, we met Lorella who is really friendly, made us feel very welcome and is super proessional! We had a really lovely feeling as the atmosphere was very relaxed. The bedrooms are all lovely too and the cleanliness is outstanding, all the staff are just lovely and were on hand if we needed anything at all, they were all very friendly and couldnt do enough to make sure our event ran smoothly, we were very impressed with the hotel and we will be looking to host our future christmas party at Bailbrook House Hotel and would highly recommend.

Five stars, the rooms were excellent. The food was amazing staff were friendly.

What an experience. The BEST!! My husband surprised me with a long weekend stay at Bailbrook House Hotel, with all of my friends and family, and he'd been arranging the whole thing for months, alongside the incredible team at Bailbrook. There was surprise after surprise, and every member of staff was not only so incredibly helpful (nothing was too much trouble), but they were delighted for me at each turn, when another friend or family member showed up. From check in, to private breakfast rooms, to our epic Suite, to the private dinner and everything in between - we were cared for at each turn. I couldn't recommend a place more highly and we will 100% be returning for another stay. Special shout out to Lorella for helping my lovely husband plan the Birthday weekend of dreams, the reception team who are just wonderful, and also to Sukina and Dobrinka who are just superstars. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Fabulous hotel located just outside central Bath. Attractive exterior, interior and grounds. All the staff are so welcoming, lovely and knowledgeable. They can’t do enough for you. Nice comfortable room and the breakfasts are devine as are the meals in the bar area. Superb find and stay. Thank you for this treat of a stay.

Lovely hotel with wonderful staff, nothing is to much trouble. Unfortunately the downside is the price of drinks in the comfortable bar. While a pint was £5.50 a medium size 175 ml wine was £15!

What a find! We celebrated my birthday in Bath and were so pleased with our choice of hotel. No parking in a public car park in busy Bath, the Bailbrook House Hotel has a large free car park. The staff are very friendly and efficient. The breakfast is excellent with a vast choice and lovely Ramona kept everything running smoothly. Our room, standard double, was large and comfortable and included easy chairs. It was a great stay and we would happily recommend the hotel and will certainly return when we visit Bath again.

Stayed here on a Dinner Bed and Breakfast rate. I thought this was excellent value for money. Service was generally ok if a little disjointed at times

This is nice hotel in a quiet area of Bath in a beautiful building. The location is very quiet just off the A46 with Bath city centre only a short drive or taxi ride away. There is plenty of free parking available. The hotel has two separate buildings the grade II listed Manor House where we stayed and a more modern annexe known as Bailbrook Court.

We found the staff very friendly and helpful and the facilities were of a good standard. The rooms were exceptionally clean but they are definitely in need of a refresh. The furniture is dated and decor is old fashioned. Considering the price for the Manor House rooms we found our room to be lacking any element of luxury and at this price point we expected more.

This hotel building and grounds are beautiful and the rooms are large. With some investment there is such potential for Bailbrook House to be something very special. Unfortunately without an update to the decor and interior furnishings I think this hotel will become overshadowed by many other accomodation options available in Bath at the same price point or less. I really hope Handpicked hotels has a plan to invest in this wonderful building for the future.

That being said, If you are looking for a well run comfortable hotel with easy access to Bath, I would certainly recommend Bailbrook House.

We are a group of RAF veterans and booked into Bailbrook for a second reunion there - the previous one being 2022. We could not fault the rooms, service and food for our two night stay. A buffet on the first night and a sit down dinner on the second. The sit down dinner being semi formal - blazer or jacket and tie. The duty manager on the First night sorted out one of our group with a jacket, shirt and tie as he had forgotten to bring one. All the staff bright and smiling regardless of who it was. We would come again, but my group wished for another location but agreed that another hotel within the group was their preferred choice.

The buildings ,rooms and grounds were very nice. Not far from town. Cabs , Uber and a bus stop near the hotel entrance. They did seem to be a bit short staffed during our visit especially in the restaurant, but all staff were very polite and helpful.

We had our wedding at Bailbrook House in Bath, and it was nothing short of perfect from start to finish. The day itself was absolutely fantastic — the staff were incredible, so attentive and genuinely couldn’t do enough for us. Everything ran so smoothly, and we felt completely looked after throughout.

A huge shout-out to Kamila, our events coordinator, who was simply amazing. She made sure every detail was just right and kept everything calm, organised, and personal from beginning to end. And special thanks to Debrinka, the bar manager, who was an absolute star — friendly, efficient, and made sure everyone had a great time. You both went above and beyond, and we’re so grateful!

The food was outstanding, the drinks were excellent, and the venue itself is stunning. The accommodation was luxurious — beautiful rooms, super comfortable beds, and a wonderful sense of elegance and comfort. Every detail felt thoughtful and high quality.

What really stood out was how personal everything felt. We weren’t just another booking — we truly felt important and cared for, which made the whole experience even more special. All of our guests commented on what a fantastic day it was, and we honestly couldn’t fault a single thing.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff really are lovely. Everyone we met was welcoming, polite, professional and genuinely helpful. We were holding an event here and really appreciated that the person we’d been dealing with was present on the days of our event, plus she was very helpful. Our bedroom was large and had everything we needed. Our dog was made welcome too. No problem parking.

We have spent a night in Bailbrook House Hotel to celebrate our engagement. The staff are very friendly and the hotel is beautiful. We are especially thankful for the bar staff for the free drinks after delays with the order. They didn't know but just an hour before my fiancé proposed to me, so their kindness was extra special. We'll definitely come back again. :)
