Parking Cost Penalty
Pros:

Good overall experience as expected from a Holiday Inn Express. Pleasent service from the staff. Good room quality- surprised to have air-conditioning. Good breakfast. Good location to walk into the town center.
Big drawback is the parking cost. I cannot remember this being flagged when booking. You choose hotels on service but also cost. Any additional carparking charge MUST be highlighted clearly when landing on the hotel homepage. In this case, made worse by big signs saying 'pay upon arrival'! If I had sat in the car and paid, and not used the machine in the lobby, I would not have been aware of the 50% discount given to guests.
Personally, unless in a real premium location (e.g. Central London), parking charges for guests are dreadful.

Stay at Pride Park
Pros:

Rooms are beautiful and clean, staff very helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for staff went above and beyond. Breakfast great loads of choice. Definitely recommend

Reasonable value convenient stay.
Pros:

Location was good as we were going to a football match at Pride Park. Breakfast was okay and it was handy being able to get a drink on site to take to your room. Bed very comfortable. Excellent bar/restaurant across the road, Nicco's.

Cons:

Cooked breakfast could be better, more fruit and healthy options although I enjoyed the fruit I had.
