Not 5 Star
Pros:

We stayed at this hotel as a family of 8.

My daughter is coeliac so can’t eat gluten.

You have to pre order meals for any dietary requirements and stipulate the time you’d like it and in which restaurant.

The problem comes when you arrive in a restaurant and request the pre ordered food. We had regular waits of 45-60 mins for my 9yr old daughter’s food.

The staff make you feel like you’re mithering them and keep telling you the kitchen staff are busy etc.

The rest of our group had finished their food by the time my daughters arrived.

I asked the duty manager if the ice cream was gluten free he rolled his eyes told me he didn’t have time to check and walked away.

He came to my table 15 mins later and rudely said it was gluten free.

None of our group enjoyed the food. It was often lukewarm and sometimes the meat was undercooked.

On one of the days I had paella and found a large black hair in it. I told the duty manager who smiled and quickly whisked it away.

The hotel is clean staff are continually cleaning.

The room was nice and big with comfortable beds. Cleaned daily to a high standard.

It’s hit and miss if you get to change your towel at the pool as they regularly run out. Some
Of the towels we had had seen better days.

Always plenty of sun beds around the pool. But they too have seen better days and are uncomfortable.

There were big queues at the pool bar. They seem to have closed the main bar during the day.

This hotel is definitely not 5 star. More like 3 star.

With the all inclusive package you don’t get the premium spirits you have to pay extra for them.

The hotel and pool are OK…. All inclusive a joke - you would be better off
Pros:

Only two tiny bars open in the entire hotel (at any one time) with almost no staff to service the entire hotel - spending £500 a day to have to go outside for a drink in a plastic cup during the day and queue for 20 minutes is a joke… really poor they could do so much better and it would not cost much… at 3.30 I asked for a drink inside and was told I needed to go to the outside pool bar - really 5 stars.. all inclusive? Staff are friendly it’s not their policy but worth knowing before you book…

More of a nightmare than a dream!
Pros:

We recently visited the hotel, this is not a 5 Star Hotel more of a 3 star at a push. We visited for five nights and left early! The food is awful! We found the staff to be rude. The safe in our room did not work. Getting a towel for the pool is an experience in its self! They run out constantly.Do not book this hotel expecting any more than a 3 star hotel. The sun loungers are so dirty, the kids pools are dirty so much litter around the pools. If you have small children and use a pram you can not access the football pitch and playground as it is up a tall flight of stairs. We found the lifts to be faulty. When I spoke to the Jet 2 Rep she even said " This is not a five star hotel, it is more of a down to earth three star". The food in the restaurants was worse than the buffet. Please do not book this hotel! I was told at reception when checking out " It was a me problem and not a them problem"

Fabulous winter break in the sun.
Pros:

Friendly, airy and comfortable. My husband is a wheelchair user and we found both the hotel and the sea front location very accessible. Ramps and lifts everywhere. Our room overlooked the main pool. Family friendly hotel so it was pretty busy and lively at half term. We really enjoyed the smaller Sea Legs pool and bar but found the Sugar Reef bar and pool a bit exposed. Breakfasts were delicious and we made full use of all the restaurants in the Marina. Staff have been very friendly and helpful. The hotel is lovely and clean. This felt like a great value trip!

Last Min Short Stay (4days)
Pros:

Couldn’t recommend the hotel enough. It’s in an ideal area, about 30 min taxi ride from the airport and ideally located in Playa Dora , between the busy end playa Blanca and the less busy end of the marina and easy to walk to both ends along the promenade.

We booked a last minute stay (bed and breakfast) as had a few days off work , which did lie within the school half term so prices are always a little bit more and more kids around.
But was we arrived we were greeted with a glass of fizz and was upgraded to the “preferred club” which entitled a separate rooms of the hotel on the side with access straight to the adults only perferred pool. We did have to walk round the side to collect towels and the main pool was a lot busier. The pool we were at was a lot quieter and more tranquil.
Rooms were very clean / tidy. Toilet and shower separate but really no hassle at all.
People mentioned the smell of sewage from the plot of land next door. But from the hotel we couldn’t smell this. Only when we walked passed along the promenade between the two hotels.
The breakfast on the morning (Perferred club have a separate restaurant) was amazing. So much to choose from (I’d have had all of it if I could). As we were in bed and breakfast that did us for the day and ventured out for our evening meals.
We also visited the Papagayo beach coast, taxi driver dropped us off and we walked along the coast to a choice of 3/4 beaches. They were stunning and beautiful but would have to be actively fit to reach them. You can get by road but the road access isn’t great and most taxis dont like going down. We then walked back from their to hotel. About 3km.
Being active we did multiple runs along the promenade , around the roads and up some of the hills. All very accessible from the hotel.
Everything was clean and tidy from where we were and everyone was so helpful and smiley. Recommend and we loved the “preferred club” benefits, especially with it being half term and being a couple without kids.

An Unforgettable Family Escape
Pros:

We recently returned from an incredible stay at this hotel, and I can honestly say it is one of the best family-friendly resorts I have ever experienced. From the moment we checked in, the atmosphere was welcoming, but what truly sets this place apart is the incredible Animation Team.

The energy they bring is infectious! Unlike other resorts where activities can feel forced, the team here is genuinely passionate about making sure everyone—from toddlers to grandparents—is having a blast. Our kids were obsessed with the miniclub games and the mini-disco in the evenings.

The facilities are top-notch and the rooms are very comfortable, but it’s the staff and the non-stop entertainment that make this hotel a "must-visit" for families. If you are looking for a place where your kids will be constantly engaged while you actually get a chance to relax, this is the spot.

Thanks to Saray, Zac, Jessica, Brigitta Niels and Laszlo for this amazing experience.

We are already planning our return for next year!

A warm and friendly hotel -Deans Playa Blanca
Pros:

The staff were always friendly and helpful. Especially Reception and Guest Help Desk. My friend broke her hip at the beginning of the holiday which was an awful shock for both of us. As well as visiting the hospital I also had to deal with all the logistics of dealing with UK Insurance plus the hospital in Lanzarote. The staff were there for me when I was stressed and helped in any way they could. I will always be grateful for the genuine warmth and affection shown to me during my stay and I can honestly call them my friends.
The hotel was very clean and well maintained. All the bar staff were attentive and I never had to wait to be served. My bedroom and balcony were always cleaned and tidy. Whenever meeting maids we smiled and exchanged greetings.
In general I thought the food was good, plenty of variety something for everyone.
The Sabor and Blue Grill were my least favourite speciality restaurants. I felt the restaurant lacked atmosphere and needed brightening up plus the food was not as good as I had hoped. However the Italian and Asian restaurants were very good both in food and atmosphere a few more tall plants would give the restaurant a more elegant atmosphere.
The hotel is positioned in one of the best locations in Lanzarote. The swimming pools and sun beds leading down to the sea are in the most beautiful setting.
Despite the unfortunate start I really enjoyed my time at Dreams and many thanks to everyone.

Dreams at Lanzarote turned out to be a dream holiday.
Pros:

We originally planned to stay at Princess Yaiza but they only had availability for 6 nights so we booked Dreams as it is next door. We thought this would give us an opportunity to make a direct comparison between Yaiza and Dreams.
The rooms were very clean and housekeeping outstanding. We had the unlimited luxury package which was about the same price as Princess Yaiza but the mini bar, although meagre, was a step in the right direction.
The pools are very good and the pool drinks excellent. We enjoyed swimming and participated with the beverages. All very agreeable.
Breakfast is good, lunch is better, evening meals outstanding. The food and drinks was a real plus as we usually eat at the many local restaurants and enjoy beers in the sports bars. In Dreams they open the sports bar for special sporting events and this was brilliant.
Have to say Dreams was really the business, fully inclusive well worth it and staff helpful and friendly everywhere.
Decent entertainment at night as well which we enjoyed.
Will come back in January 2026 and try again, I think a 4 or 5 day break would be perfect.

3/4 Star. Amazing Location but a few issues
Pros:

The best part of this hotel stay was the location. We found this to be perfect. Very centrally located to get to both the marina and the restaurants on the other side.
Check in was easy. We booked a preferred room and we overlooked the main pool on the ground floor. Whilst the location was very convenient, it didn't feel like any kind of upgraded room. The beds were very very hard and I asked for a mattress topper. A man at reception took a note of our room and said it would be added. It wasnt. I appreciate I could have gone back to re-request but this should have been done the first time of asking.
I also didn't rate the preferred room pool (Sea Legs). At times it was very crowded and didn't feel like it was worth the upgrade. It was also being painted whilst we we there so certain sections were out of use. The gentleman who was handing out towels tried to be helpful but had no knowledge of English so couldn't communicate.
The staff were OK but definitely not what you would expect from a 5 star hotel.
Overall, its a great base but I wouldn't go expecting 5 star service/luxury

not 5 star
Pros:

Not a 5 star hotel more like a 3 star, I booked the hotel for my wife's birthday as it was supposed to be a 5 star hotel , the hotel was clean staff friendly but food is terrible the food in the buffet restaurant is not good the meats are cut thin and are hard and chewy the chicken is in slimy juice and fish is about the size of your big finger the staff cooking are young and inexperienced and cooked poorly and have to wait and que for it to be cooked by then the rest of your food is cold and same food for lunch and dinner, there was no ham just salami type meat the soup was made from the leftovers from the day before which was not very appetizing , the other restaurants were terrible we ordered ribs and steak which was cold they apologized took it away but was just the same when they brought it back so we walked out and left it, we ate out every night.
the location is good but the adjacent plot of land smells strongly of sewage as you walk past towards the marina and another guest said the smell of sewerage from the adjacent plot of land is overwhelming and comes into the rooms on that side of the hotel, the rooms toilet is separate from the shower room and dose not have a sink to wash your hands so needed to walk out the toilet into the shower room to wash your hands there was only one chair with no mirror for my wife to sit and put makeup on the only mirror was inside the door, the toilet was noisy and no toilet brush
the entertainment is only for an hour but is horrendous starts 9.30 and finishes at 10.30 and is held at the bottom of the stairs with a made up stand which is made up every night for the acts to perform on
i would not recommend this hotel to anyone or to my friends as it is not a 5 star hotel

Awful do not come
Pros:

Hotel is absolutely awful more like a 3☆ at best I paid for an upgraded room with a sea view and got the car park as a view on the back end of the hotel where all the children are. This was supposed to be a romantic weekend for me an my partner. The food was terrible in the main buffie so We went to the al a carte restraustrant and it was just as bad un cooked cold old food awful. The hotel is really behind on decor with its ugly green paint and terracotta tiles the pool area is dangerous with loose chipped tiles my partner fell on a tile that lifted whe she stepped on it. Thank god we only booked this for 3 days do not come to this hotel the waiters do nothing for you its all self serv the food is awful and the hotel is less than a 3☆ absolutely awful

Good hotel not good food
Pros:

Hotel is in a good location and is clean staff are friendly drinks are branded and full measures.
Food is repetitive same food for lunch and dinner and soups are made from leftovers
The lady cooking eggs at breakfast was washing the pan then proceeded to cook the eggs with dirty dish water dripping on the cooking area.
The coco cafe was ok
The toilet in the room has no wash hand basin and is separate from the shower room so if you use the toilet and someone is using the shower you can’t wash your hands also the toilet is very noisy.
The main pool needs painting as the bottom has black patches on the bottom.
The entertainment is not great the lady who sang Motown was good but the rest of the entertainment was not worth watching.
The walk back to the room is possibly dangerous for kids as should they climb up they could possibly fall down a high drop if on the 3rd or 4th floor
On the whole the hotel needs a refurbishment and not 5 star

Really nice hotel but not 5 star.
Pros:

We’ve just returned from 11 nights at Dreams Hotel, which we booked to celebrate a special birthday, expecting 5-star luxury.
While the hotel has some really lovely aspects, it unfortunately doesn’t live up to a true 5-star standard. The pool area in particular is in need of serious attention. There are broken and cracked tiles around the main pool, crumbling tarmac pathways, peeling paint on walls, and old sun loungers — not what you would expect from a luxury resort.
On a positive note, the rooms were nice, with a good shower and large, quality towels. We also really enjoyed the food. We were all-inclusive and loved that you didn’t have to book the à la carte restaurants in advance. The food quality was excellent and, in our opinion, the best part of the hotel.
The staff were also very friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
Overall, we had a good holiday, but the hotel really needs a major revamp of the pool area to justify a 5-star rating.

Average
Pros:

Great location between town and marina which is one of the few positives we could find other than the friendly staff.

Overall we were disappointed by the hotel for many reasons and don’t reckon it’s five star by any stretch of the imagination.

We had booked a preferred sea view room but in reality this overlooked the pool with the sea in the distance. Upgraded to a suite with a sea view which was nice but a wee bit overpriced. Both rooms were a bit dated but clean. Strange set up with separate toilet without handbasin!

It would appear that about 50% of guests were on preferred packages so not exclusive in any way as much of the publicity suggests. Breakfasts were not particularly good with the supposedly hot food lukewarm at best and sometimes just plain cold. The food in the preferred club snack bar was repetitive and unimaginative.

Our biggest problem was however the smell of sewage. On several evenings we were driven indoors from our balcony by the stench. We were on the side of the hotel away from the notorious promenade smell so that wasn’t the cause. On occasions the smell was also evident in our room and corridor leading to reception

We didn’t eat in the hotel in the evenings as we had booked b&b basis , but when we returned during the entertainment we found this not to be very good. Because the entertainment was in the main atrium there wasn’t anywhere to have a quiet nightcap and in any event the service was slow in the bar. A hotel of this size should have another option should you not wish to listen to entertainment.

We are unlikely to return
