The location of this hotel is excellent. You are within walking distance to a lot of the main sights. Also, you are right next to Termini station which we used to take trains to Florence and Venice. The staff at breakfast is excellent. Sabina deserves a special mention as she was great. So friendly and attentive she is a credit to the hotel.
As it was our first time to Rome I reached out to the hotel in May and asked to use the hotels private transfer service. The hotel quickly got back in touch and told me all was arranged and a driver would be waiting for us at the airport.
When we arrived on Tuesday 1st September, we followed the instructions that were provided to us and there was no driver. We waited for 25 minutes and then I decided to ring Hotel Artemide. I spoke to a lady at reception and was told that she will get in touch with the driver and will ring me back. We waited for another 20 minutes for a phone call and nothing. There was still no driver. I then rang the hotel again and said I am going to pay for a taxi (I found that it was significantly cheaper to book a taxi rather than paying 80 Euros for this service and it was going to arrive in a couple of minutes) I was assured that a driver was on the way and was then put on a hold until the lady got back to me. I was left on hold for another 10 minutes (I don't know what my phone bill is going to be but I am sure it is going to be a lot). After being put on hold for 10 minutes I decided to end the call. Luckily the driver got in touch and told us to wait. We waited for over an hour at the airport waiting to be picked up.
What annoyed us even more was when we arrived at reception there was no mention of the mishap or even an apology from the team as to what happened. It was as though nothing happened.
On the night of Monday 7th September, we came back from our tour (around 9.30pm) and found items in our room that were not ours. We found a selfie stick and a kids squishy toy. I handed these toys in and told the team at reception that this is alarming. Where we should have been enjoying our last few days in Rome we are worried about whether our items were safe in our room. What made this worse was the next night there was a a clean plastic bag with a dirty tissue left on top of my wash bag (please see photos). This was simply...
