Location
Staff, the property
This hotel is perfectly located in Beverly Hills, with a pleasant and very safe 10 to 15 minute walk to the heart of Beverly Hills.
The hotel itself is much smaller than it appears in the photos, but that actually adds to its charm. It feels like staying in an old apartment building for Hollywood stars, which fittingly was its original purpose back in the 1940s.
The rooms are excellent in terms of both size and amenities, and the included tea and coffee at breakfast is a really appreciated touch.
What truly makes this hotel stand out is its atmosphere. The design carefully respects the building’s original legacy, making it feel full of character rather than just another soulless chain hotel.
Avalon is a gem! Such a special place. Yes, it’s conveniently located, well appointed, great amenities, and delicious onsite restaurant that draws hotel guests and locals alike. But what truly sets it apart are the people that make this place run. Shout out to Michael!
Michael is always friendly, kind, helpful and punctual. Emerson, Carlo, Christi, and Addison are also wonderful. It’s clear staffing is a priority here and they take customer service seriously. Highly recommend Avalon for fun and business travel.
An amazing boutique hotel—truly original, with incredible food, a cool atmosphere, and an exceptional staff who go above and beyond to ensure your stay is outstanding. The location is set in a lovely neighborhood, perfect for walking and conveniently close to major sightseeing spots. This was my second stay, and I will absolutely be back again!
Really cute and relaxing place to stay! Room was nice, good restaurant, good service. Valet was timely and nice. Recommend for couples.
Really nice property! Very nice public areas, room with all the amenities and super comfortable. I liked everything about it and would happily stay here again! I also felt that it was a very good value at the time that I stayed.
Everything was great!
What a great destination. Some of the most accommodating staff you will ever meet. From the front desk with Kalia, Jeremy and Christy to the attentive wait staff and Michael, Art and Chris at the valet parking you will enjoy your stay. Poolside breakfast is a great way to start your day. Don’t miss it.
Tom & Margurite
Came here for dinner. When we arrived, no one working the valet & no self-parking option.
After dinner, same thing. Another guest abandoned his car in the driveway. And another couple also wanted to get their car after us. Truly pathetically that a hotel has no parking or employees in this day & age.
This was a weekend evening, restaurant was fairly dead, as was the lobby, so not like they were slammed or this was a random Tuesday evening or anything. No excuse.
The positives:
-Got upgraded as a titanium elite member to a larger room with balcony.
-Comfortable beds.
-Perfect location.
-Nice pool.
The negatives:
-$46 daily amenity fee felt unjustified, the bikes you can use were flimsy and didn’t have brakes.
-Although pool is nice it only gets direct sun for a certain period of the day, not ideal for those who want to tan and enjoy the sun.
- On my last day housekeeping didn’t turn up until 5pm.
- No free breakfast
Overall a decent hotel, staff are perfectly pleasant. I would potentially stay here again depending on the rate, shouldn’t be higher than $300 a night based on what is on offer in my opinion.
The layout and historical charm of the place, and the staff were exceptional. It is close to high end stores and restaurants in a very up-market area.
It could be quite noisy at times. Light sleepers would be best requesting a room on the top floor.
Wonderful attitude and service, they do everything to make you feel comfortable and pleasant. Well done.
You need to ask for cleaning.
