No staff at the bar waited 45 mins for a drink . Extra prices for limited service would not return
How peaceful it is beautiful grounds
Only one thing
Scaffolding up outside of the room so no clear view would of liked the heads up on that one
The breakfast was very good.
The spa staff were exceptionally helpful as I required assistance due to poor eye sight.
Very few TV channels and no News channels ie SKY.
The bar meals are over priced.
Everything especially the staff and the breakfast.
Room was far too hot, spoilt a nights rest for me, my husband and our children - AC never got cool enough.
Breakfast ONLY
Front off house attitude
Room was comfortable after moving. Food was good.
Reception staff were fantastic throughout our stay. There was a situation that I spoke with the Duty Manager (Curtis) I think, regarding the room allocated and cleanliness of it on arrival. We were moved to another room that was cleaner. Duty Manager said he would come back to me but sadly he hasn't, very poor on customer service hence the reason I am writing this. The 19th Bar advertises food served up until 9pm each day but the lady serving behind the bar informed us that "there were no golfers in and the Hotel wasn't busy so they decided to stop serving food at 5.30pm" - certainly didn't feed welcome. On morning of leaving we were left standing at the desk with others for 5 minutes waiting to go in for breakfast whilst the lady supposed to be there was standing chatting to guests on the other side of the dining room. The waiter actually came over and had us seated thankfully.
We enjoyed our stay with friendly staff and comfortable surroundings. The breakfast, as with most places, was ample and the fresh made scrambled a delight.
The steak knives are blunt. Gem lettuce with trout --- NO.
Everything apart from exeptionaly high prices for food even for children was good but the rooms were very disapointing , when we arrived the grounds are fantastic the staff are very helpfull, everwhere exept the rooms ! It was like going back in time to the 1950s, my grandma had better furniture and im 72yrs old,and you had to move tea and coffee and kettle to other side of room as there were no sockets anywhere near the tea tray, we had three grandsons with us in an adjoining room and it was the same in that room, it was a birthday treat for them all, and the look on their faces said it all, when we entered the rooms, we havecstayed in numerous hotels and i must say, this was the most overpriced for the accomadation you recieve, would not return
The location was beautiful, very chilled and relaxed vibe, nice and friendly staff.
You couldn't use facilities before checking in, other spa hotels in the area allow this.
You only were allowed robes if you had a treatment.
Busy pool, for a spa break I would have expected less children and more chilled vibe in this area but lots of choices such as steam room, sauna, hot tub, pool.
The swimming pool was amazing best part about it . Breakfast was lovely . Was clean and tidy hotel .there was 1 young lad in breakfast room was lovely and friendly and young last on reception .
Room basic for money . The extra deposit on top which isn't a quick refund. Apart from the 2 young staff mentioned above rest where miserable. Had a nice stay but hotel not what looks like we thought was posh .
Lovely grounds. Dinner service was great.
Very dated internally. I paid for what I believed was a ‘new build’ suite, but it was very 1980’s. The spa was poor with limited relaxation areas, and the service at breakfast was poor. For what it cost, we were very disappointed.
Lovely communal areas and gardens,, really enjoyed the pool and facilities. Air conditioning in our room was a nice bonus. The breakfast was good, lots of choice and the food was hot and fresh.
We had a few niggles with the room which were sorted promptly but should not have needed reporting and our spa treatments were rescheduled several times which is a bit annoying. Overall a nice relaxing stay but a little more attention to detail would be good based on the prices
The Breakfast was very good with a range of food on offer and dinner was good although the steaks were not available when we ate. The room was comfortable and clean, although the wash basin was extremely slow to drain. I did report.
The walks around the hotel were not well marked or looked after.
