Breakfast was good.. Was not happy with scaffolding going up at our window on second day as was not told about this when we checked in. Manager did nothing to rectify the situation .
Breakfast, food was very good and varied. The problem we found was the age of the staff who were serving. There seemed to me to be very little training or motivation, there was quite a number of tables waiting to be cleaned. I asked for bread and it wasn’t until the fourth time of asking it arrived. The table next to me wanted poached eggs when they arrived they were cold, so they put them back. In saying all that if you are prepared to wait you will receive. It would not prevent me staying again.
We found the menu at night very limited, not an enough choice, most meals came with chips, let’s have baked potatoes and mashed potato. We could not understand why the sandwiches stopped being served at 18.00.
Outdoor areas e.g walks
Dirty, the furniture, was old, untidy and marked
Dogs should not be allowed in bedrooms, and should be in a dog wing, there was dog poo on hall carpet from our bedroom , not impressed at all. But our bedroom was ok

For such an expensive hotel in a non metropolitan location, we would expect waiter service to table. The breakfast buffet was the usual to find in any hotel costing far less per night - for example Ibis Barnsley where we over- sighted on our journey.
This is a large hotel and was fully booked. A lot of people vying for food and drinks at breakfast. Dinner has to be pre- booked...if you haven't booked there is a waiting list Good luck with that
This hotel is in beautiful park but remote for alternate dining.
Nice setting, great breakfast
No coasters, all tables sticky
