Jamaica Bay Inn Marina Del Rey Tapestry Collection by Hilton

I stayed at Jamaica Bay in May on business bc I usually stay at the Marriott MDR but it was booked due to a conference. I had a great experience. Nikki was particularly warm and helpful throughout my stay with my check-in and food deliveries even when the lobby was full of folks needing something. As a result, I felt I would want to stay again in the future.

I booked a room for myself and a colleague this weekend and, when he checked in today, he was treated horribly by another woman at the front desk. He ultimately asked her, “How do you treat a guest like this?” And she just stared back at him. I was so upset I called and, fortunately, Nikki picked up the phone. I remembered her from my last stay and, being consistent, she was very empathetic and helpful with this situation.

It’s people like Nikki that really make or break a hospitality experience and Jamaica Bay is fortunate to have her at the front desk.

Location

I was genuinely excited to stay here because the location is great, but unfortunately my experience was disappointing from start to finish.

The biggest issue was the unexpected fees. I booked through Booking.com, and nowhere during the booking process was it made clear that I would be charged an additional **$78** upon arrival. Surprise charges like this leave a very negative first impression.

The cleanliness was also unacceptable. I found a hair in the bed sheets and the toilet bowl was dirty, which immediately made me question whether the room had been properly cleaned before my arrival.

Housekeeping entered our room without knocking or announcing themselves. Even more confusing, they didn't make the beds or clean the room—they simply left shaving cream that we never requested.

There were also multiple fire alarms going off during our stay with little to no communication or explanation from hotel staff, which was both disruptive and concerning.

Finally, customer service was lacking. Our room didn't have any coffee cups, so when I asked the front desk if we could have some to make the in-room coffee, I was told to come downstairs and get them myself instead of having them brought to the room.

Overall, this stay did not meet the standard I expected. Between the hidden fees, cleanliness issues, lack of communication, and poor customer service, I would not choose to stay here again unless these issues are addressed.

This place is a hidden gem. Beachside restaurant has great food and great atmosphere. Relaxed and chill with stunning views of the marina at night. Centrally located and staff is awesome. Has a very relaxed vibe and staff are kind and friendly (even when overwhelmed and super busy). Mauro, Lance and the team are awesome - all the way to the valets Rogelio and Nick. Welcoming and friendly.

I have started having business meetings here as it’s a great location and you can actually talk in a warm scenic environment.

We wanted to be local for the 4th of July celebration.

Rogelio, the valet guy, was very kind and respectful. Took my car and brought it back around very quickly. Great service !

I had a wonderful time at this hotel. The valet staff, Rogelio and Uriel were amazing!! They were so kind and so helpful. It’s experiences like this that make me want to come back. The room was spectacular and the view was beautiful. Can’t rave about this hotel enough, thank you for my stay!

I went and met a friend at the restaurant and used the valet service. Pogelio especially was so helpful and answered all my questions with such patience! Overall it was a great experience visiting this hotel.

My wife and I were celebrating our Anniversary and we had breakfast at the hotel restaurant. The food, service and staff were excellent. They gave us a complimentary dessert after hearing of our Anniversary. This was our first time dining at this restaurant. Upon leaving I spoke with Emerson who manages the Valet service at the hotel. I mentioned to him as my car was being retrieved that my wife and I were first timers visiting the hotel and restaurant and that we were celebrating our Anniversary. We live in Glendale. He congratulated me on our Anniversary and he waved the parking fee. This was unexpected and above and beyond exceptional service. I want to recognize Emerson and Hector for their outstanding customer service. My wife and I had worked for Marriott International for over 60 years combined so we know about good customer service. Please recognize Emerson and Hector for their exceptional service. Thank you gentlemen for making our Anniversary that more memorable!!
