We loved our stay. Nine friends. The food, staff, entertainment were top class. Thank you Ann Marie xx
We had a fabulous few days in this warm and welcoming hotel. It is right on the sea and not far from several beaches and other historic places. The food was superb, the atmosphere very relaxing with lots of areas to sit and read. There is even a library !
Ann Marie and all her staff were wonderful. There were short plays and guided walks and music in the bar. Rooms and guest sitting rooms were spotless. The only noise was the sound of the sea coming in the window or the birds calling in the morning.
An absolutely wonderful experience. We will definitely be back!
Amazing time as always. Staff so lovely and helpful. Location fab. Atmosphere amazing.
We were lucky enough to have the apartment and it was brilliant..
Thanks to Anne Mare. Thomas and all the staff . Till next time.
JC. Galway..
We had a fantastic weekend here. The amazing , friendly staff is what sets this hotel apart. It has a cozy, warm atmosphere in a stunning location. When we were checking out we booked our next visit in November.
Had a fantastic time in Renvyle House, really great amenities and lovely food. Will be back soon!
It's hard to explain in words how good this hotel is.
Everything is excellent - Food, hospitality, comfort, staff, service, bathrooms, facilities, location, etc, etc,
Just go and don't hesitate.
Great value too.
It is very hard to describe why this place is so very special. All the friends whom we have brought with us over the years fall in love with Renvyle House Hotel as we did. On this visit we brought more dear friends who are converts now too.
The key to any experience is the people, how they treat you, how they care, how experienced, how well trained and super efficient they are.
Anne Marie IS Renvyle. She is ever present, has eyes in the back of her head, knows what you want or might feel like or need before you do. She has thought of everything. Nothing is too much trouble.
Your visit goes beyond just hotel accommodation you experience top class Music, Drama and guided walks, all included.
It is apparent that each and every member of staff has been chosen and trained to Anne Marie's exacting standards. It glows from every corner of the Hotel.
Every one from the garden, kitchen, bar, housekeeping, restaurant, actors and musicians were unbelievably warm, welcoming, discretely attentive and a joy to be around.
The remarkable thing though was that not only were staff all ages, all different backgrounds and from all parts of the world we discovered that some had only started working at Renvyle a matter of days before. But from the cohesiveness and efficiency you would never ever have guessed.
Of course the food is a cut above, the rooms are spotless, the big open fires a dream and Connemara spectacular but the staff are simply wonderful.
I had better book our March return quickly before I post this review and it gets booked out or I will never be forgiven.

Such a special gem. Having visited this wonderful hotel many times in my childhood it was lovely to see that after a gap of some 50 years the hotel still maintains all its charm and heritage. The staff are welcoming and friendly and the food superb. It’s a bit like going back in time to a charming Hercule Poirot movie. The setting is wonderful, the hotel is perched on the edge of the wild Atlantic. A great location for exploring the wonders of Connemara. The hotel manager, Anne-Marie runs a tight ship and is always on hand to help and provide local advice. We very much look forward to returning.
Just back from our annual Pre-Christmas break. Everything was up to the usual high standard that Renvyle House stands for. In fact it was so good, we stayed a 3rd night!!! The rooms are lovely and a lot of them renovated to a fantastic standard. The food, as always was amazing. The staff are brilliant, friendly & hardworking in particular Juan in the bar, Caroline in reception, Majella and her magic Christmas tree work, all overseen by the fabulous Anne Marie! Everywhere is spotlessly clean...even the pool with the wild wind we had didn't have as much as one leaf in it. I'm looking forward to the next visit already!
Always lovely to return to Renvyle. Very comfortable hotel, very nice staff, many from Spain and Argentina. All polite, discreet and smiling. Manageress very present and vigilant as well as being kind. It is a good sign to see continuity of staffing over the years.
Really appreciate that they do not charge a supplement for single visitors. The harp recital was a treat as was the theatre production. Why don’t more hotels use local talent in this way. It makes Renvyle quite unique.
Wonderful too to have an outdoor pool and a hot tub from which to watch the Atlantic waves crashing into the rocks.
Just a lovely relaxing hotel in an idyllic setting. The staff, led by the enthusiastic Anne-Marie, are a delight and very helpful. There is a very good staff/guest ratio.
On entering for the first time the friendliness is immediately apparent. Not just of the staff but the guests too. Everyone chats. The public rooms are comfortable with plenty of seating and welcoming peat fires.
The bedrooms are very well equipped and I had a lovely garden/sea view. Cleanliness is outstanding. Even more amazing - there was no supplement for a single room. So rare. The bed was comfortable and I slept well. Very peaceful.
On site amenities are plentiful from walking to kayaking. The open air pool is available all year as are the hot tubs overlooking the Atlantic. There is a programme of very gentle entertainment which is not intrusive. A wonderful player of the Irish Harp and engaging short cultural plays. Well worth the hour in the library listening to the play. There is a quiet room for the less sociable or if you need space. Wonderful walking around the hotel and further afield. Well placed for other sights.
Frankly, even as a person always wanting to be on the go I just found I could stop and relax .
The food is freshly cooked and delicious with a set menu in the restaurant or bar menu elsewhere.
I am already planning my return visit. Exceptional value.
What a gem of a find!!!
You’re at the edge of the world in Renvyle and it does not disappoint!
The location is breath taking with dramatic views for miles!
Food in Renvyle is out of this world. Give this team a Michelin star!! Insane flavours of the freshest, local produce for breakfast and dinner!
For me though, it’s the staff. They’re the kindest, most sweetest team who really bring that little bit extra to Renvyle!!
Ann-Marie, you’re an almighty legend!!!
Thank you to you all
Xx
We (Eoin & Marianne) recently had our wedding at Renvyle House and can't recommend it highly enough as a venue! We had stayed at the hotel a few times before, so we knew how perfect the location was, along with the food, service & rooms being of a high quality, and we weren't disappointed when it came to the big day.
Ben the wedding coordinator was of great assistance to us once we decided to choose Renvyle as our venue, we booked the date over 2 years in advance but he still kept in touch where necessary by answering any queries or requests we had.
We had full exclusive use of the hotel for the wedding night but it felt like a full weekend of wedding celebrations, as the hotel generously offered a really good rate for our guests for the whole weekend.
From the moment we arrived to Renvyle the evening before our wedding day, Anne Marie and the team looked after us wonderfully and this continued for the whole 3 days. Everyone was immediately relaxed on arrival, it's such a nice place to spend time in, whether you want to relax in the bar or by the fire, or walk around the beautiful surroundings.
Everything was set up perfectly for our ceremony we didn't have to worry about a thing, and a special mention has to go to Majella who was so helpful and hospitable to Marianne while she was getting ready in the morning.
Dinner was excellent, everyone was raving about it, both the food and the service. The excellent service continued late into the night and the following day where we were all looked after just as well, all the lads behind the bar were top class and helped keep the party going all weekend.
We were all sad having to leave after 3 fantastic days but we can't wait for our next visit to Renvyle House, and anyone thinking of having their wedding there you won't regret it! Thanks again to Anne Marie, Ben, Jude the chef & all the wonderful staff throughout the property, simply the best!
We go there every November and have a great time . We are looked after so well by Ann Marie and her fabulous team . It is a warm welcoming place with plenty to do. The food is excellent and service too. The dining room waiters spoil us. They are young enthusiastic students from Spain/Argentina etc - two names I remember are Javier and Fernando but there are many more as well. Same goes for all the others -Bar/Reception and Bedrooms. A huge thank you to you all. I must mention Majella as well - she buzzes around constantly checking that everything is in order - the four fires -the lounges/ hall area /sun room and checking the Bedroom team .
There is plenty of in house entertainment - we loved our 2 plays by Sean and Ros/Harpist/Sing song with a regular guest there called Ber and her guitar and the music in the Bar as well, Sean does a walk one morning. It is very interesting and worth going on.
Weather was not great but it did not matter . We went to Clifden - it a lovely town with lots of nice shops there. Another morning we visited Kylemore . Letterfrack has a great Book Shop - Books at One - went there twice .
There is a heated out door swimming pool 2 Canadian hot tubs /tennis courts .
Some brave guests swam in the sea and then used the hot tubs . They said it was fabulous.
Now we are looking forward to our next trip there.
We had been here before - many times - so when we, a less than youthful Couple, were considering a legally-recognised venue for celebrating & solemnising our Marriage, with a small group of our closest Friends, we immediately thought of Renvyle House : we were proved totally right in our choice !
Previous guests at this scenically-located Hotel will be all too familiar with its absolutely stunning surroundings : what's even more impressive is the total warm, effective care and attention that the personable General Manager, Anne Marie + her staff lavish on all who come here.
For our part, we would like to express our heartfelt appreciation of the kind, caring and considerate manner in which Anne Marie & her Team treated us + our small Group for an extremely "Special Occasion" . We particularly enjoyed the unanticipated ovation we received from an assembled Staff Group, as we emerged from our Wedding Ceremony, and without reflecting negatively on anyone else, we would add our special thanks to Majella, Linda & Tommy for their constant care and attention throughout our weeklong stay!
At our age, we're not big into self-promotion, so the accompanying Photos aim to indicate some of the many positive features of this absolutely wonderful venue, rather than focusing on us.
And, of course, le cúnamh Dé, we're planning to return to Renvyle very soon....
This is a lovely place. Spectacular views, homey atmosphere, and delicious food. Top notch. We understand that the bathrooms are being renovated this winter, which is great news. Our only complaint was the bathrooms- and the tub/shower in particular (very high tub to navigate over- a bit dicey quite honestly). The staff is terrific and very hospitable.
I am just home after two nights in renvyle house. I must say i have stayed in many places around Ireland but this is by far now one of my favourites. The staff are trained to a flawless level. It is so rare to see a table set up and cleaned down as i witnessed and experienced. I also noted the general manager making a point of visiting each table during service in addition to the resturant manager Martin. I got dinner included on both nights and the menu was different on both nights. The food on offer is cooked to perfection with a five course service. The plates are not pretensious and the flavours are well thought out. I was apprehensive of the quality of room i was going to get as i was bringing a pet but again the rooms were top notch. I noted the hotel has a trout lake that can be fished and they can arrange clay shooting. There are plenty of walks for the dog and i will for sure be back during the summer months next season. If you are thinking of a place to get away and totally relax i would recomend you give this place a try.
Such a beautiful part of the world. So calm and serene . This hotel is so welcoming and relaxing. The staff, food comfort all beyond expectations. We will be back .
Wonderful service - friendly, happy staff.
Good food. Relaxed hotel - maybe it's the dogs - or the lack of muzak - but it feels real.
We brought our dog - we love being able to have her inside in the public rooms during the day.
A haven at the edge of the world. A beautiful location where you can leave your troubles at the gate. A beautiful hotel set in wonderful surroundings, you can walk, swim, and relax - it is all overseen by the fabulous Anne Marie. Don’t forget to eat the mussels in the snug.
