Room was clean. Front desk staff were professional.
Bathroom fan never shut off. Elevators don’t work. Ice machine doesn’t work. No vending machines. Pool was closed. Entrance doors in the back were broken.
Good location, friendly staff, clean sheets and towels, ample parking.
A few basic maintenance issues - lightbulbs out or flashing, unreasonable heat in the hallways, bathroom faucet worked but was ready to fall apart.
Surprisingly new and pretty nice. Would stay again.
Had what you needed
Dirty ice machine
The location.
The bathroom sink faucet leaked. The shampoo dispenser was empty and they didn't supply shower soap. The threshold was broken and easily would create stumbling when exiting.
Beds were comfortable. Ease of parking and then easy access to your room. Reading lights above beds -!!
Shower was broken. Couldn’t use it in the am. Needed repair. Good location
The fact that the shower was broken and I couldn’t use it in the am before I left.
Delayed review of unexpected last minute trip for brother's funeral. Second hotel stay on long road trip for funeral. Intended to stay at brother's home, which was undoable. Searched "Cheap hotels near me". At same time drove past one hotel we weren't staying at. Pulled into car port. Up two steps to large office with nice saltwater fish tank. Arrived just before dusk. Asked for a single night's stay. Front desk guy was nice, asked if we had reservation, then asked if we had discount AARP, military etc, trying to be helpful when we mentioned in area for funeral. He may have given us a discount. $166 a night, which was mid level of hotels used on trip. This is a motel, not a hotel. You park in front of room door. Pulled to back of lot. The Bad: Exterior slapped on coat of white paint. Security camera right above our door. Door lock plate was not perpendicular to the ground. Opened the door, stepped inside and floor sagged beneath us (we are not large statured). Stain in carpet between beds. Walls painted with gloss white stucco texture. As others reviewers mentioned, painted right over fuse box. Ceiling painted with white sand texture. Next day noted parking lot could use some work: blacktopping and minor repairs. The Good: Queen beds were comfortable with four good size pillows each. Linens were clean and good quality. Bathroom had been updated. Shower hot with good pressure. TV large with good selection of channels. Micro worked, fridge cold. Large, nicely decorated breakfast room with good selection of foods. Warm items were appropriate temperature and better than average taste. Attendant was spot on, quickly refilling items and cleaning tables. Second night stay required to attend to estate duties. First night hotel had approximately 30% occupancy. Next night (Monday) about 70% with a number of work type trucks. Did not hear neighbors either night. Next morning, breakfast good again. Check out guy was easy and I believe he adjusted rate to reflect same rate prior day. Would I stay again? If I was in area, and rate was low, yes. However, I read other reviews which showed much higher rate. I would be disappointed if charged more. Hampton Inn (our usual chain) next door. Gas station down the street. Hotel is two blocks off main drag with a variety of busy small shops and restaurants.
The staff was tremendous and the breakfast was unbelievable for a hotel
The price was a little higher than it should be
Clean
When the party in the room next to me was playing music very loudly at midnight. The manager spoke to them about the volume and told them he had a complaint. 20 minutes I called the manager and said the music was still on and the guests were on the balcony talking very loudly. He told them they had to leave, and they did.
I was on the second floor, the stairs are very steep.
The television stations provided nothing I am use to watching.
The outside door didn't always lock, I had to shut it a few times until it did.
Location was convenient and the beds and pillows were very comfy
For almost $500 a night, I expected a much nicer venue.
Easy to check in, great location close to downtown Northampton. Good options for breakfast and reasonable pricing! Staff were very kind & friendly throughout our stay.
Other guests were smoking right outside of our room making it difficult to enter/exit without smelling the smoke.
Room was clean, and upgrades are appreciated (I was last in Northampton 5 years ago).
Breakfast hasn't changed except for a new hot/cold water machine that I wasn't aware of until my last morning. I drank lukewarm tea with water from the carafe near the oatmeal packets.
The women at the desk were responsive and willing to go out of the way to be helpful, but they weren't always on duty.
I had to have my room changed because although the card worked fine, the door did not unlock properly.
Temperature control: I was not able to control the temperature in my room and was too warm. It didn't matter what I set the temperature at, it drifted to what seemed like a preset value.
