Scratchy bedding and very poor mattress

Easy to get too, but lacking comfortable bedding & bed. The sheets were scratchy and the mattress was super soft! Back ache!!!

It always comes down to you get what you pay for. I just needed an overnight on a long distance Road trip. The staff were extremely friendly but the property is obviously very old and it shows. Although the property is no smoking, my room was very musty and smelled of smoke. Fortunately I had some Febreze with me

Convenient, quiet, but room smelled of stale cigarette smoke.

Room was poorly lit & smelled like smoke. No curtains to block light from parking lot at night. A/C was very noisy and didnt cool well; carpet was musty and damp. Toilet seat not attached to toilet. Overall poor repair. Staff was friendly and hospitable.

Worn-out and old; hair dryer did not work, so had to scramble in the morning to find another one; hot water handle in tub broken

It was nice

We needed a place to stay and this did the job, but..,a little grimy in places. Staff was friendly but she seemed a bit overwhelmed and struggled with check in.

The room was great, but the bathroom was less than desired. It was surprisingly large well layed out room. However, the bathroom was not clean. This may be because it was a last minute booking though

This was a great little hotel. The owner was very, very friendly and helped get me into an accommodating room right away. The area was very nice. I felt safe. I would definitely recommend this place, especially if you are on a budget. Very budget friendly but clean, friendly and safe. Nice area.

Rough experience. They couldn’t find a room key for my room at check in. Lobby is a hodgepodge of miscellaneous junk. I’ve stayed her years ago and it was better. Now just a tired motel going down hill fast. Waited about 45 minutes for them to clean another room to use.

I can't really rate it because they gave away my paid for room prior to my arrival. And yes - I arrived about 45 minutes prior to the 11:00 p.m. office closure. Neither would they refund my money explaining that it could only be refunded to Expedia.

Very old but I like that. Real wood paneling. A small couch in the room. Chairs and table outside the door. Screen door so you can leave door open without flies. It was raining so the room was really cozy.

It is a work in progress, but Marie is a wonderful hostess and it is obvious that they are doing a good job of fixing it up.

A little worse for wear. Still, a nice old-school motel for people on a budget, looking for a place to lay their heads for the night. I would return.

Very bad experience. The room was filthy (band aid on the bathroom floor, bad smell in the room, one of the bed missing bedsheets and showing dirty stains). We were given another room but this time the toilet flush was not working (heard water flowing all night) and the cleanliness was still suspicious.

My stay at Potomac River Motel was a pleasant experience. The owners were very much "hands on" ..friendly..welcoming..accommodating. I will definitely stay again. Highly recommend Potomac River Motel.

Dated and older but clean, quiet and the staff were very kind and helpful. Good value for the money.
