A disappointing experience in a number of ways. Other Novotel's are of a much better standard.
Pros:

The location of the hotel is good as a stopover on longer motorway trips. It has safe parking and late arrival is possible.

Cons:

My family and I were very disappointed with the stay overall. We previously stayed here and noticed the quality of the breakfast was a lot lower than other Novotel's we have stayed in, but thought it was maybe an off-day.
Unfortunately this time the experience was worse as two coach loads of guests went for breakfast just before us and completely finished almost everything. We waited for new food, but the service was very slow. I would have expected that if a hotel knows about coach loads of guests, that they put on special service for them (as I have seen in a Paris Novotel).
To round it off the hotel room bed was also incredibly uncomfortable, so much so I gave up trying to sleep in it and moved to the pull out sofa bed.

A great, family-friendly stay.
Pros:

The staff were excellent, helping me when my French failed. They greeted us with free juice for the children and little snacks and an activity pack. The restaurant was really good, though the poor front of house staff could have done with a bit more help as it was very busy! The breakfast was great, lots on offer. The location was nice too, not far from the city but in a quiet location and an easy walk to a forest trail with playgrounds for the children.

Cons:

The bed was a bit harder than we like, and it was incredibly hot in the room, despite turning down the thermostat and opening a window.
