That it had a pool and in a good location and the staff were lovely
That it charged for parking ,very very pricey in our opinion.
Staff were all lovely
Carpet in the bedroom was really badly marked and needed a good clean. Sink in bathroom smelt awful & needed unblocking. The soft furnishing on the chairs in the dining room were desperate for a deep clean with drink & food stains on them.

I loved the pleasant greeting from staff when I arrived and also in the morning when I went or breakfast.
My room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The room had everything that I needed, toiletries, tea and coffee tray with milk and cartons of water in the fridge which I especially liked.hairdryer and iron and board which I used as I was in a hurry when I packed. There was also a safe in the room.
I liked that you needed to use your room key for the lift, helps to stop people off the street wandering in, which I have had at other hotels in the past which is very scary.
There was a pool, which I forgot they had, as I would have used it, iwill remember for next time.
The breakfast was delicious, I particularly liked that the plates were stored in a hotplate storage and they were hot,really hot, I hate cold plates for food.
The breakfast had an array of the usual hot and cold breakfast delights. They had a good supply of everything, fruit and pastries, even seeds for your yoghurt etc, coffee and tea wa made in a machine which was delicious.
I didn't feel rushed unless it was because it was a Wednesday and not too busy, maybe weekends might be different. Plates were removed from tables and cleaned at once after they had been vacated, which in some hotels they are left and look unsightly and dirty.
The hotel was ideal in proximity to the barbican theatre taking less than 10mins to get there.
Overall I was very pleased with my stay, I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again as I visit York quite a bit. Great value for money.

Conveniently located to explore York with great parking. The rooms were well maintained and cleaned regularly. Food was great. Every staff member we encountered were helpful, polite and made us feel welcome.
