Lovely hotel great food fantastic location
Pros:

We visit every year it’s nice clean and staff lovely

Cons:

I asked for a bday message for my partner and they forgot and knocked us up at 22.45 on the sat night with some chocs
Parking prices are excessive when u pay for that and breakfast it turns into an expensive weekend

Great hotel - close enough to the heart of York yet away from the hustle and bustle!
Pros:

The location was great for both driving into York and proximity to the centre. Everything was conveniently laid out; reception, bar/lounge, restaurant. The pool was a great bonus and there was a riverside walk that took you into town (10 minutes walk away). The staff were all amazing. Nothing was too much trouble. Very impressed.

Cons:

I can’t think of anything at all.

Dirty room, bedding not changed, room not hoovered or swept, cups and glasses not washed and room very dusty. Not helped with luggage. Given room with no walk in shower which we had requested due to both mine and my friends mobility. Given drinks and then couldn't have them as they had to be used the day they were issued but wasn't told this at the time they were offered. All in all a very poor hotel. Will not be staying at this hotel again because of the poor hospitality. Silver package is not worth the money £40 for a bottle of prosecco that is £30 a bottle from the bar and chocolates left in room were not handmade by the chef they were Lillie o Brian's chocolates out of a box! The plate with the chocolates was left in our room for the full stay along with half a strawberry that went mouldy and some grapes.

A good value hotel in an excellent location
Pros:

The location was excellent. The property felt safe as you had to use your key card to access the lift and stairs. The car park was very spacious. There was an excellent choice at breakfast. The staff were very friendly and were constantly clearing the tables and wiping everything down so everything was spotless.

Perfect relaxing stay.
Pros:

From arriving the staff were very helpful. Evening meal was excellent. Huge selection at breakfast and all very tasty.
The location was perfect for our needs.
We freally enjoyed swimming. We will be back again.

Cons:

We liked everything, the staff were all very helpful and I will stay at more Novotels if they are all of this high standard.
