Okay for a short trip.
Pros:

Laura in the restaurant was great

Cons:

Dinner was of low quality food for the price you pay. Rooms and corridors look tired in need of renovation

Excellent stay
Pros:

The pillow was too hard for me.
The toilet was very close to the basin which would have been difficult if I was more disabled

Should have given guests the best facilities available especially returning customers.
Pros:

The staff were great. Food in restaurant excellent with very attentive waitress.
Hotel looks impressive from outside and public areas nicely presented but rather draughty and cold.

Cons:

The bedroom was very tired and very cold at night. No ability to increase the heat. Had to request heater.
Was in the queue to talk to reception and overheard staff member telling guest in front of me that they were in the refurbished side of the building……we were obviously not!
This is a pity because we had been last year with a family group and spent a lot of money here. This time in a group of 4 and still ate all our meals and drinks here.

Nice hotel. Good food. Some issues with organisation.
Pros:

The quality of the steak in the evening meal was really good. I also enjoyed breakfast. Staff were friendly. The rooms were comfortable and clean.

Cons:

It was a nightmare trying to sort out a dinner reservation with colleagues. I was not able to use the offer because I didn't know the names and room numbers of everyone else on the table! There was about a dozen of us who wanted to eat!
Lunch during the seminar was a nightmare. It was not staggered between the 2 conferences leading to long queues and running out of food. I also had some difficulty in getting an invoice as I was mistakenly advised to go to booking.com for this. I only used booking.com because it was cheaper than booking direct!

Perfectly adequate but slightly tired hotel
Pros:

Friendly staff, peaceful location. The food was adequate to good.

Cons:

The whole place is a bit tired, and dated. but the biggest problem is the extra thick mid winter duvets in rooms with no air conditioning. It made for two nights of very poor sleep.

We will be back!
Pros:

Lovely hotel - nice and clean. The staff were really friendly and welcoming - big thanks to Emma who checked us in - had a nice little chat with her and she was really pleasant. The staff in the bar area and restaurant were also really lovely. Used the pool which was nice and warm.
